    Senior Legal Officer

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Legal Officer to join our Legal Department.
    • The ideal candidate will have a solid background in commercial law, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
    • You will play a key role in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, supporting regulatory and transactional matters, and advising on legal risks across the organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Draft, review, and support the negotiation of a wide range of commercial contracts, particularly in construction, real estate, infrastructure, and financial services.
    • Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle, ensuring proper execution, monitoring, and archiving of all legal documentation.
    • Conduct legal and regulatory research, and prepare well-structured summaries or memos on industry-specific laws and policies.
    • Assist in dispute resolution, compliance matters, and the implementation of corporate governance practices under the supervision of the Legal Manager.
    • Prepare and maintain legal documents, reports, correspondence, and regulatory filings with minimal supervision.

    • Participate in regulatory engagements and support responses to queries, notices, or compliance requests.
    • Collaborate with internal departments to identify and mitigate legal risks, escalating issues where appropriate.
    • Draft board/shareholder resolutions, manage CAC and NEPZA filings, and maintain statutory registers and records.
    • Support due diligence exercises, internal legal audits, and ongoing compliance monitoring activities.

    • Having Fair knowledge about the building materials market in West Africa, explore the West African market to identify opportunities and potential customers
    • To work on commercials and coordinate with the in-house team and customer, to support to setup of customer-operated depots in nearby regions and drive secondary
