About Us

Our client is a newly launched marketing company targeting local service businesses. As an early hire, you'll shape our content and search presence from the ground up. Your work won't sit in a queue behind ten other writers.

The Role

This is a content role with a strong off-page SEO component. Roughly, you'll split your time between two areas.

Content creation

• Write original, goal-driven content (blog posts, landing pages, guides) tied to clear objectives such as traffic, rankings, leads, or conversions

• Apply on-page SEO fundamentals: keyword intent, structure, internal linking, meta elements

• Create supporting visuals using Canva or similar tools

Link building and outreach

• Secure backlinks through guest posting on relevant sites

• Develop linkable assets (original research, tools, in-depth guides) designed to earn links naturally

• Run PR and outreach campaigns: identifying targets, pitching, and following up

What We're Looking For

Must have:

• Published online writing you can show us, whether bylined articles, a blog, client work, or a portfolio

• Ability to produce original content (AI-copy-paste jobs and plagiarism are dealbreakers)

• Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals

• Basic design skills in Canva or an equivalent tool

• Availability for full-time work, 8:00am to 5:00pm (West African time)

• Comfort with outreach: you're willing to pitch editors and site owners, handle rejection, and follow up persistently

Nice to have:

• Prior link-building or digital PR experience

• Familiarity with SEO tools (e.g. Ahrefs, Semrush, Google Search Console)

• Experience in a startup or early-stage environment
