    Senior Business Intelligence Engineer

    About the Role

    • The Senior Engineer will help to lead the charge on this transformation, bringing experience to bear, both on the systems themselves, as well as mentoring and developing other team members.
    • This role reports to the Business Intelligence Lead, but will routinely be embedded in cross-functional delivery teams, working collaboratively to deliver our next generation data products.

    Responsibilities
    What You Will Do:

    • Build next generation event-driven data processing pipelines that cleanse, enrich, and aggregate a range of different data sets as part of a globally distributed and cross-functional software development organisation
    • Deploy these data pipelines in line with continuous delivery practices and principles
    • Improve the scalability, stability, accuracy, and efficiency of our existing data platform - it’s not all just green field!
    • Develop and mentor other members of the business intelligence department
    • Monitor our data platforms in order to identify and resolve issues and ensure high-availability of data insights
    • Communicate with stakeholders to develop requirements, implement solutions, and collaborate on rollouts

    Requirements
    What You Should Have:

    • 5+ years of enterprise work experience in business intelligence, data engineering, and advanced analytics
    • 2+ years of commercial, enterprise experience building data pipelines using Apache Spark and Python (future platform). Familiarity using these tools to consume data from RabbitMQ or Kafka is a plus.
    • Experience with one or more types of NoSQL databases and data lakes
    • Comfort with version control and continuous delivery
    • Familiarity with relational databases, ETL, and reporting tools. Preference for Microsoft technologies (we currently use Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2019, SSIS, and SSRS)
    • Fluency with warehouse design and dimension modelling (star schemas, snowflakes, etc)
    • Experience or interest in results-driven, lean/agile environments
    • Basic DBA skills
    • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.

    Lead Engineer, Software Development

    About the Role

    • We are looking for a full time Lead Full-Stack Engineer to head up one of our cross-functional software development teams, which builds the software that powers and improves our competitive advantage. In addition to being technically excellent and an individual contributor, a Team Lead is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of their project (looking across all disciplines and technology stacks) and for ensuring that their team is following agreed norms and processes.
    • This person should be familiar with design and implementation issues specific to a data driven, highly scalable environments and be able to handle such issues with flexibility and ingenuity. The ideal candidate will have a strong customer focus, a proven track record of delivering high-quality products in a continuous delivery environment, and an appreciation for clean and simple code.

    What You Will Do 

    • Design, implement, and support new products and features, including overseeing the technical design and architecture of projects
    • Grow and lead an software development team of 5-7 engineers 
    • Collaborate with project sponsors and product designers to elaborate requirements and facilitate trade-offs that maximise value
    • Analyse and improve the overall software architecture, with a focus on maintainability and scalability
    • Mentor and develop members of the team, from daily interactions to broader professional development goals

    What You Should Have

    • A BA/BS in Computer Science or a related technical field
    • 7+ years of enterprise software development experience
    • 2+ years of experience leading engineering teams 
    • Comfort recommending and advocating for enterprise architectural best practices for highly-available, scalable, and reliable implementations; but also the experience to take on technical debt where appropriate
    • Enterprise-level experience with continuous delivery practises and tools
    • Advocacy of test-driven development (TDD) and/or behaviour driven development (BDD)
    • Experience with pair-programming and other XP practises a plus
    • Expertise in several of the following areas (and interested in learning about the rest):                       
    • Experience in a lean delivery environment and understand not only the mechanics, but also the underlying motivations
    • NewGlobe uses primarily .NET (server-side), Vue.JS (web apps) and Kotlin (Android native), so experience in these toolchains is preferable; however, NewGlobe also values developers with diverse experience, so serious exposure to other languages and ecosystems (e.g. NodeJS, Ruby, functional languages, NoSQL DBs) is a bonus
    • Ability to function well in a fast-paced, informal environment where constant change is the norm and the bar for quality is set high
    • Interest in open source projects – familiarity with OSS projects is a plus; contributions to open source projects is a big plus

    Project Director - North-West

    About the Role

    • We are seeking a talented, motivated and adaptable individual to support the Managing Director and the senior leadership team as Project Director. The ideal candidate is a multifaceted individual who will work closely with the Managing Director in a job shadow capacity. As a co-strategist, implementer, and trusted advisor, the successful candidate will lead execution of strategic initiatives for the Managing Director and leadership team and will also ensure streamlined activities within the organization to improve the daily management of the organization based on the priorities of the Managing Director. This is a highly hands-on and analytical role, involving intense program management and broad technical knowledge covering financial management, supply chain and school operations management.     • This role reports to the Managing Director and VP Operations. You will be part of a leadership team composed of various directors. The School Inspection Manager/Director, who in turn supervises a team of field associates, will report to you.

    What You Should Have

    • A bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university with an excellent academic record. Quantitative undergraduate degrees, and advanced degrees such as an MBA are preferred
    • 5+ years of executive level experience in reputable companies from which you have outstanding records of professional achievement. You should have at least one experience that required highly independent work in an exceedingly challenging environment such as in management consulting, finance or in a start-up
    • Excellent project management skills including being incredibly organized with calendars, gantt charts, trackers, and have the ability to systematically follow up and support senior leaders with their deliverables across a broad set of projects/strategic initiatives
    • Solid functional knowledge, including but not limited to strategy, operations, HR, supply chain, customer experience management, finance, project management
    • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem solving skills. You need to be able to see patterns, be a fast thinker and a good decision maker
    • Advanced MS Excel/spreadsheets skills, and mastery of presentation/reporting tools such as MS Word/Google docs & MS Powerpoint/Google slides
    • Excellent communication skills (writing and speaking), which enable you to communicate complex ideas effectively to people at all levels in the organization
    • Demonstrated leadership ability in a team environment. You should have a proven track record of working strategically and collaboratively with senior leaders across different functional areas

    Manager, Talent Acquisition

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree with superior academic performance.
    • 3+ years within Talent Acquisition; we particularly value experience in extreme growth situations.
    • Extensive headhunting / direct recruitment experience, particularly with building diverse teams.
    • Prior experience within a fast-paced, metric driven Talent Acquisition organization (in-house / corporate or agency), as well as in designing and implementing talent acquisition solutions encompassing talent attraction and outreach programmes to build for longer-term talent pipeline.
