    Senior Associate, Investor Relations (Operator Finance)

    Key Responsibilities

    • Review monthly expenses to ensure that expenses are booked correctly and work with the finance team to make any necessary reclassifications.
    • Handles the preparation of fiscal records and financial plans, policies, and reports.
    • Develop a schedule for investment transactions and analyze efficiency, trends, revenues and financial commitment to project future revenues and expenses.
    • Demonstrate appropriate understanding/working knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls, and apply them.
    • Advise the team on how to meet targets and create investment capital.
    • Train team members on how to generate finance from shares and loans.
    • Gather, analyse and interpret complicated numerical information.
    • Assess and predict financial risks and returns; use financial modelling to predict outcomes.
    • Negotiate and structure financial details; provide investment advice, tactics and recommendations.
    • Assist in the preparation and analysis of annual budgets and long-range plans.
    • Prepare consolidated forecasts and analyze trends in revenue, expense, capital expenditures and other related areas.
    • Conduct complex business analysis including ROI, NPV and IRR, making recommendations to management on new products, features, pricing, and marketing promotions, based on historical financial data.
    • Research, analyze and synthesize data from multiple sources into business information as directed and by self-identification of business information needs.
    • Instruct team members on how to prepare financial and business-related analyses and research in such areas as financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, working capital, and investments.
    • Work with management and business units to determine strategic objectives and identify opportunities to meet set goals.
    • Support the head of the department in managing investor relations functions.
    • Handle compilation and analysis of consolidated budgets and long-range plans.

    Requirements

    • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Business Administration or other related discipline.
    • A deep grasp of the Nigerian banking landscape and expertise in SME financing.
    • 7-10 years work experience in SME financing, business development or similar role.
    • Strong relationship with financial institutions to negotiate loans.
    • Negotiation skills, detail-oriented and Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to build strong relationships and a comprehensive knowledge of the agricultural sector.
    • Knowledge of compliance and regulations in Nigeria.
    • Strong financial analysis skills and quantitative analysis planning
    • Extensive experience leading a complex organization and passion for getting into details to identify the root cause of issues and create innovative solutions.

    • Ability to multi-task, prioritize deliverables, and manage and meet tight deadlines
    • Experience with leading due diligence processes and analyses

    Associate, Finance Operations

    Key Responsibilities

    • Measuring the monetary funds of the company in order to find out whether they will affect the execution of all the enterprise projects.
    • Monitor and manage credit cards and invoice payments for farmers.
    • Approve third-party payments through accurate reconciliation of financial records.
    • Manage the account payable and receivable process.
    • Assist in the annual budget process.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of best-in-class financial processes and internal control.
    • Verify that transfer requests meet guidelines.
    • Ensure that staff expenditure requests meet guidelines and budget limits.
    • Provide support to management during year-end closing, which includes helping process transfers and answering any questions that colleagues in the finance division might have regarding revenue, expenditures, fund movement, etc.
    • Act as the main point of contact for addressing any inquiries and questions related to financial operations.
    • Perform monthly invoicing by gathering and compiling data, coordinating with associates and senior associates on cost allocations, and working with accountants to record information in the accounting system.
    • Analyze existing accounting and finance systems and make recommendations for improvements.
    • Develop financial goals and objectives for the team.
    • Conduct periodic finance audits and recommend improvements.
    • Assist financial policies and procedures for operational efficiency.
    • Develop and maintain financial statements for future reference.
    • Assist Senior associate in financial management and reporting activities.
    • Ensure that financial operational activities are executed and delivered as per the standards set by the company.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Business or Economics.
    • Master’s degree in finance and/or MBA preferred.
    • 4-6 years of work experience in finance and accounting.
    • Profound know-how in advanced financial analysis and investment banking.
    • Familiar with data query/data management tools (Access, SQL, Business Objects).
    • Ability to streamline functions and passion to learn and grow.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills.
    • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
    • Ability to work as a team as well as independently.
    • Experience working with, and presenting to, senior executives.
    • Extensive experience leading a complex organization and passion for getting into details to identify the root cause of issues and create innovative solutions.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills; be comfortable interacting with executive-level management.
    • Strong financial modeling experience.
    • Strong leadership skills.
