    Safety Inspection Officer

    Job Summary

    • Participate in implementing the DCP approved occupational safety program, analysing and administering various components of the safety programs.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Implement approved safety plans and programs in the Plant and monitor employees’ compliance with safety policies.
    • Support in planning and promoting safety programs and conduct periodic assessments to identify program deficiencies.
    • Assist in conducting safety drills at the Plant, in line with approved schedule.
    • Evaluate hazardous conditions and recommend engineering controls, administrative controls, and/or use of personal protective equipment.
    • Perform or assist with accident investigations as required and ensure prompt communication of recommendations to all concerned parties.
    • Support in the execution of approved corrective action to prevent future incidents.
    • Provide information to Compensation Administrators for timely processing of compensation benefits for injured individuals.
    • Maintain complete and accurate records of safety activities and accident occurrences, and develop periodic reports to determine safety trends and needs.
    • Conduct periodic inspections of DCP Plants to assist managers and supervisors in environmental, health, and safety compliance.
    • Collect, analyse and maintain data essential for effective safety programs.
    • Establish and maintain harmonious relationships with other employees, officials, external organisations, and representatives of Local, State, and Federal agencies.
    • Participate in the conduct of basic HSE induction exercises for Plant employees, contractors and visitors.

    Education and Work Experience

    • B.Sc in Engineering or its equivalent in any science discipline.
    • Membership of relevant safety institute e.g. IOSH and ISPON.
    • Relevant safety training from recognized safety Professional body such as BSC and ISPON.
    • Minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience.

    Skills and Behaviours:

    • Adequate knowledge of the cement and manufacturing industry.
    • Adequate knowledge of safety regulations.
    • Ability to adequately analyse an incident and proffer valuable solutions.
    • Ability to communicate incidences and emergencies clearly.
    • Excellent organisational skills.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team.
    • High sense of responsibility and accountability.

    Assistant Manager, Civil Engineer

    Description

    • We are looking for an innovative Civil Engineer to design, develop and construct a huge range of projects of the physically and naturally built environment from conception through to completion.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage, design, develop, create and maintain small-scale through to large-scale construction projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner
    • Conduct on site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and others)
    • Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications
    • Assess potential risks, materials and costs
    • Provide advice and resolve creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies
    • Oversee and mentor staff and liaise with a variety of stakeholders
    • Handle over the resulting structures and services for use
    • Monitor progress and compile reports on project status
    • Manage budget and purchase equipment/materials
    • Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc and deliver technical files and other technical documentations as required.

    Requirements

    • B.Eng / M.Eng in Civil Engineering.
    • Proven 10 - 15 years working experience in civil engineering
    • Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar
    • Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals etc.
    • Project management and supervision skills
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • License of professional engineer.

    Assistant Manager, Instrumentation

    Job Summary

    • Overall responsibility for the cement mills implementation of instrumentation engineering and maintenance policies with company policies and procedures to ensure optimal plant availability for production

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    • Coordinate and monitor implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance in conjunction with relevant Section Heads
    • Ensure compliance of all electrical equipment in accordance with DCP/local safety regulations
    • Ensure electrical maintenance activities are performed in a safe, professional manner, in accordance with industry standards, environmental restrictions, original equipment manufacturers’ recommendations and DCP Standard Operating Procedures
    • Oversee technical staffs in the performance of their duties and provide expertise as required.
    • Enforce accident prevention and occupational health work procedures and regulations.
    • Proper solutions to solve electrical problems to ensure optimization of equipment reliability.
    • Ensure safekeeping of materials, tools, and equipment.
    • Perform any other duties assigned by the Head, Instrumentation Maintenance.

    Key Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, HND or related discipline.
    • Minimum of 11 years of post-qualification experience, HND – 14 years of experience.
    • Good knowledge of cement products and cement manufacturing processes
    • Expert knowledge of maintenance management methods. Extensive knowledge of Instrumentation engineering.
    • Good knowledge of safety legislation and rules
    • Good knowledge of ISO 9000 standards and TPM
    • Good oral and written communication skills
    • Organizational Awareness
    • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
