    Project Officer

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Support the development and maintenance of authentic partnerships with implementing partners, adopting an approach to partnership that aligns with and supports our partnership principles.
    • Undertake partner assessments as required, following CBM Global’s partner assessment procedures.
    • Working with partners, Thematic Teams and Member Associations, support the development and design of new projects and programmes through the identification of new project opportunities, and through the development of these opportunities in line with the Project Development and Approval procedures. Follow an approach that embraces CBM Global’s operating model; programme quality framework; and partnership with the disability movement.
    • Ensure multi-stakeholder engagement including of people with disabilities in the project cycle in line with CBM Global commitment to authentic partnerships.
    • Support the identification of funding opportunities for CBM Global’s work and actively participate in fundraising efforts as guided by the Country Programme Manager and Country Director.
    • As directed by the Programme Manager, work with and support partners to ensure effective and timely delivery of projects, in line with required standards, objectives, activity plans and budgets.
    • ​Foster a culture, among implementing partners for effective, sustainable and inclusive project implementation through proper induction to CBM processes and expectations, timely communication, troubleshooting and effective management of challenges during the partnership, with support from the Country Programme Manager for quality and accountability as per CBM Global programme Quality framework.
    • Support and sustain a high quality and timely documentation culture by CBM Global partners including implementation data, field stories and photographs, statistics and project narrative and financial reports.
    • Lead in partner capacity gap identification through effective monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes, and enhance access to requisite training to strengthen the partner capacity to implement successful projects
    • Ensure partners understand and are able to adhere to key CBM Global policies and procedures, as detailed in project contracts and CBM Global’s ‘approach to partnerships
    • Effectively represent CBM Global in-country and elsewhere on collaborative platforms as requested by the Country Programme Manager or Country Director, and enhance the CBM Brand.
    • Advocate, champion, and model disability inclusion to promote inclusion of people with disabilities in their communities and in all aspects of society.
    • Ensure that all children and adults who come into contact with CBM’s programmes, are safeguarded to the greatest extent possible. Comply with all aspects of the CBM Global Safeguarding policy and associated standards and procedures
    • Perform any other tasks as may be assigned by the Senior Management Team.

    Person Specification

    ​Experience

    • Professional experience in a national or international NGO with a minimum of 4 years at Project Officer level
    • Experience and a track record in supporting inclusive development and/or humanitarian projects in collaboration with partners, including consortium projects
    • Experience in supporting fundraising opportunities successfully, including proven experience in proposal development.
    • Proven experience in results-based management and project cycle management, including assessment, monitoring and evaluation, with a sound understanding of budgeting and budget tracking.
    • Demonstrated experience in managing internal and external relationships and partnerships particularly with implementing partners and project stakeholders.
    • Experience in working with county and national government as well as other organizations and donors.​

    Programme Finance Officer

    The Programme Finance Officer is accountable for CBM Global projects financial management components in line with the CBM Global Finance manual standards, and in close collaboration and coordination with the programme team. As a member of the team, success requires close collaboration with Country Office staff, partners, in-country stakeholders, Thematic Teams and Member Associations to develop, win support for and ensure effective delivery of projects, across all three vehicles of change detailed in the organisation’s programmatic strategy. S/he will support partners towards high standards, in line with our financial standards, Programme Quality Framework and the development and maintenance of effective and authentic partnerships in line with our Approach to Partnership. S/he will promote strong capacity in project financial management, support proposal development, effective project implementation, monitoring, evaluation and learning within CBM project and partner.

    Based: Abuja – Nigeria; Requires 50% travel to project locations

    Duration: Fixed – Term (Full-time).

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Support the development and maintenance of authentic partnerships with implementing partners, adopting an approach to partnership that aligns with and supports our partnership principles.
    • Undertake partner assessments as required, following CBM Global’s partner assessment procedures.
    • Providing timely project budget implementation feedback to partners’ senior management and support in the monitoring of project, while ensuring that the Project Team is informed of programme planning.
    • Reviewing financial documents (e.g., partners Financial & Procurement Checklists) for approval; by critically analysing financial processes and procedures for compliance.
    • Documenting the key highlights noted in the financial monitoring reports and reporting on the progress of the implementation of recommendations by CBM Global, project auditors and other stakeholders through persistent follow ups.
    • Review periodical programme funds reconciliation statements, fixed asset register and financial reports (including PPR) of partners in coordination with the partners finance team to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial reports.
    • Assist in financial reviews and investigative audits of partners and suggest corrective action as appropriate on areas in partners’ financial systems and procedures that need improvement.
    • Assist in financial training of partners’ staff, contributing to training materials and resources, organizing and facilitating partners’ finance workshops and CBM partners project finance officer’s workshops and reflective meetings, and take responsibility for following up on participants’ action plans especially as it relates to partners.
    • Identify red-flag in partners’ transactions and processes, compile the red-flag reports and checklists, provide regular updates to the Country Finance Manager.
    • To comply with all CBM HS&S procedures and requirements at CBM Global and, at all times ensure own safety and health and that of other persons who may be affected by own acts or omissions at CBM Global project

    Finance Intern

    The role works directly with the Finance and Admin Officer to manage the CO accounting and closely with the Country Finance Manager and other CBM Global staff. Follow all CBM Global policies, procedures, grant compliance and documentation requirements

    Hours: Full-time

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Receive and review payment request and invoices.
    • Prepare payment request and bank payment voucher
    • Manage petty cash
    • Retrieve and review all retirement of advances and submit to Finance and Admin Officer.
    • Support to prepare all statutory deduction and remit timely in line with relevant regulations.
    • Assist in preparation and processing bank payments online, download and attach payment advice and upload details for multiple payments
    • Stamping all Bank transactions for office with PAID Stamp and ensuring prompt filing.
    • Assist in tracking returned payments and follow up with participants and vendors for correction.
    • Assist in ensuring all finance documents and reports are properly filed, labelled and stored in a clear and easily accessible manner.
    • Take minutes of Finance unit meetings and filing such properly
    • Support in quarterly verification and validation of assets and asset register.
    • Support during capacity building sessions
    • Prepare and maintain filling records of financial activities and other related financial documents.
