    Lubes Technical Engineer

    Responsibilities

    The ideal candidate will (but is not limited to):

    • Work with the Lubricant Sales Manager to develop visitation/activity schedule/plan to facilitate realization of the sales target. 
    • Develop a sales plan based on the approved sales strategy in conjunction with the Lubricant Sales Manager. 
    • Carry out regular customer visitations and manage customer relationship. 
    • Proactively identify and report on potential revenue streams. 
    • Process customer orders and follow-up with distribution personnel to ensure prompt product delivery in line with organisational policies. 
    • Provide technical services to current and prospective customers to drive product sales and increase customer satisfaction. 
    • Log and address customer complaints; escalate appropriate issues and follow-up with relevant personnel to ensure proper resolution. 
    • Proactively gather current customer data/information and regularly update customer database to ensure reliability and accuracy. 
    • Keep abreast of relevant developments in the customer operations i.e. procurement of new technology that may impact on their continued business dealings and communicate appropriately to the Lubricant Sales Manager for immediate attention. 
    • Collate and analyse sales data and generate periodic sales reports for the attention of the Lubricant Sales Manager. Also monitor and report competitor’s activities. 
    • Prepare agreed activity and performance reports on a timely basis, for the attention of the Lubricant Sales Manager and other relevant parties. 

    Perform other duties as assigned by the Lubricant Sales Manager. 

    Requirement

    • Second class degree or its equivalent in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or a relevant degree in the Physical Sciences and Engineering. 
    • 7 – 9 years relevant experience  

    Required Competencies:

    • Good knowledge of products and services, specifically the Lubricant. 
    • Good understanding of the chemical combinations, usage and advantages of individual lubricant products of the organization. 
    • Good oral and written communication skills. 
    • Good customer service and relationship management tools. 
    • Good networking and teaming skills. 
    • Good data gathering and analysis skills. 
    • Good problem analysis and solving skills.
    • Good proficiency in the use of office productivity tools.
    • Key Performance Indicators  
    • Accuracy of information.
    • Number of new customers.
    • Percentage of sales target met. 
    • Number of customer complaints resolved.

    Product knowledge.

    Turnaround time in generating relevant reports.

    Salary:  N600,000 -1,000,000

    Lubricant Sales Manager

    Responsibilities

    The ideal candidate will (but is not limited to):

    • Participate in the articulation and development of lubricant sales and marketing operational plans, strategies and programs.
    • Recommend specific strategies for the lubricant sales segment in alignment with the overall goals of the organization.
    • Take ownership for communicating agreed operational plans and programs to subordinates, ensuring mutual understanding of roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities.
    • Oversee the implementation of the approved lubricant sales strategy of the organisation.
    • Direct new thinking in relation to the company’s lubricant sales operations in order to explore viable options for strategic positioning in the lubricants market.
    • Participate actively in periodic sales planning and budgeting, monitor implementation and performance, and ensure the development of effective strategies to address shortfalls in targets.
    • Maintain awareness of market trends, customer needs and competitor initiatives and devise strategies to optimally utilise market opportunities.
    • Ensure ongoing identification of new revenue streams for the lubricant business and provide inputs in the development process.
    • Ensure the development and establishment of effective strategic channels to support lubricant sales across the country.
    • Articulate strategies to penetrate the lubricant customer base and champion marketing drives to facilitate the realisation of these objectives.
    • Ensure the provision of qualitative technical support and after sales services to existing and prospective lubricant clients/ customers of the organisation.
    • Foster and maintain a strategic relationship with key customers.
    • Ensure consistent qualitative service delivery to all lubricant customers across the country.
    • Ensure the creation and maintenance of appropriate channels for pushing the organisation’s Lubricant products.
    • Manage relationships with relevant regulatory agencies/ authorities.
    • Keep abreast of best practices and identify, also recommend improvement opportunities to the Head of Lubes Marketing & Production
    • Implement approved policy amendments and ensure compliance by all subordinates.
    • Participate in the preparation of the department’s annual budget and monitor its implementation.
    • Review and authorize expenditures/transactions of the subordinates in line with the approved departmental budget and the organisation’s manual of authority.
    • Provide guidance, leadership support , and strategic direction in the execution of the department’s functions and activities.
    • Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the subordinates and ensure alignment with the overall goals and objectives.
    • Periodically review the performance of Lube Sales Engineers, ensuring operations conform to policies and procedures.
    • Ensure periodic activity, status , and performance reports for the subordinates are prepared for the attention of the Head Lubes Marketing & Production and other relevant parties.
    • Perform other duties as directed by the Head Lubes Marketing & Production.

    Requirement

    • Second-class degree or its equivalent in Chemical / Mechanical Engineering.
    • Relevant postgraduate or professional qualification.
    • Minimum of twelve (12) years relevant experience, of which at least five (5) must have been at a strategic and senior management level.

    Required Competencies

    • Good knowledge of the local and global industry dynamics, including regulations, legislation, and operating environment.
    • Good understanding of micro and macro economic indices and their impact on the business.
    • Good understanding of the specific target market and customer behaviour.
    • Ability to think strategically and holistically and to appreciate the systemic impact of various policies, issues, and solutions.
