    Nurse Team Supervisor

    Responsibilities

    • Carry out the functions and tasks associated with nursing i.e. perform as a nurse or anaesthetist, whenever required or needed, in order to optimize the resources, contributing with his/her knowledge and experience.
    • Implement all the protocols and hygiene procedures and supervise his/her team to follow the same standards, in order to warrant the quality of the care and service in his/her speciality.
    • Organize and coordinate the activities of his/her team (week’s schedule, annual leave, absences, etc.), evaluate their performance and define and ensure the needs for training of staff, in order to ensure the coverage of the human resources needs and maintain high standards of quality.
    • Carry out and/or supervise the ( decentralized) pharmacy and medical equipment management (drugs orders, follow-up of the stock, storage conditions, inventories, follow-up of expired drugs and their destruction, drugs consumption, etc.)in his or her department, in order to satisfy the needs of material with efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Ensuring that all staff using medical devices are qualified and trained. Ensuring that cleaning and minor maintenance tasks are performed according to the protocols. Reporting any malfunction to the project biomedical service.
    • Carry out and/or coordinate administrative (exit paper, transfer paper, etc.), information and data collection (patient files, forms, statistics, etc.) tasks, and elaborate regular reporting, in order to have updated and reliable information about the day-to-day activity in the project, output/ outcome and support decision-making.
    • Give feedback/ reports to the medical focal point.

    Specific Accountabilities

    • Provide leadership to the nursing Team in ITFC/ATFC unit fostering positive and collaborative environment
    • Together with NAM support in bedside coaching and training of the nurses and Nutrition Assistant. Report the training needs to the Nursing Activity Manager in order to create and organize teaching tools and trainings together.
    • Supervise the quality of nursing care provided: e.g. preparation and administration of medication, measuring and interpretation of vital signs, application of the medical protocols, clinical follow-up, and early detection of the medical complications.
    • Assist in the morning ward round to identify problems that should be attended to immediately.
    • Ensure a good and complete handover between the different shifts
    • Ensure that comprehensible health education sessions are given for all caretakers, performed by the health promoters and the medical staff.
    • Make sure that communication between the mental health counsellor, Health Promoter and other medical staff is clear and that is given to caretakers needing it.
    • Ensure a good working relationship between all the staff in all the units.
    • Participate in quality improvement and collaborate with IPC to improve Infection prevention measures
    • Good collaboration with other supervisors. e.g. Pharmacy and Laboratory
    • Be flexible to work in another department ITFC/ATFC
    • Assess and solve problems occurring between staff, in collaboration with the Nursing Activity Manager
    • Any other role which might be deemed important in ITFC/ATFC as requested by your Manager.

    Community Health Educator

    Responsibilities

    • Deliver health education and awareness sessions on hygiene, disease prevention, nutrition, and available health services to patients, caregivers, and communities.
    • Ensure patients, caregivers, blood donors, and visitors are properly oriented on CEmONC services, hospital regulations, patient rights, and safeguarding information.
    • Conduct regular monitoring of community health and living conditions, including nutritional screening, vaccination follow‑up, population movement, and identification of medical or social risks.
    • Identify individuals with medical needs and coordinate timely referrals with the medical team, reporting issues to the line manager as required.
    • Provide targeted health education messages across CEmONC units (ANC, PNC, wards, laboratory waiting areas), aligned with medical objectives.
    • Collect patient and caregiver feedback and report gaps related to hygiene facilities, water, sanitation, and patient experience.
    • Support patient experience activities, including surveys, exit interviews, IPC awareness, and compliance messaging.
    • Liaise with medical teams to support patients and caregivers with consent processes, communication, blood donation/replacement, and culturally appropriate practices.
    • Ensure culturally appropriate tools and local languages are used for effective communication and health education.
    • Collect, compile, and report daily data and indicators to the HPCE Supervisor.
    • Support food demonstrations and provide basic nutrition education for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers.

    Safeguarding Officer

    Main Purpose

    • In collaboration with the Project Coordinator and under the technical supervision of the Safeguarding Supervisor / Safeguarding (SG) Coordinator, the Safeguarding Officer supports the implementation of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)’s Safeguarding framework and Behavioural Commitments at the project level.
    • The role contributes to abuse prevention and the promotion of ethical conduct through awareness activities, context analysis, identification of risks and barriers to reporting, and strengthening of safe and accessible feedback and complaint mechanisms.
    • The Safeguarding Officer promotes a safe environment for staff, patients, partners, and communities in line with MSF values and principles.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities
    Prevention & Awareness:

    • Conduct awareness sessions for MSF staff (national and international), Ministry of Health (MoH) staff, and suppliers on:
      • MSF Behavioural Commitments
      • Abuse prevention (sexual exploitation and abuse, harassment, discrimination, power abuse)
      • Individual and institutional responsibilities
      • Reporting procedures and available complaint mechanisms
    • Sensitize patients, caretakers, and community representatives on:
      • Their rights and expected behaviour when accessing MSF services
      • Expected behaviour of MSF and MoH staff
      • How and where to safely raise concerns

    Context & Risk Analysis:

    • Analyse existing sensitivities, knowledge gaps, cultural barriers, and fears related to feedback and complaint mechanisms.
    • Support safeguarding risk analysis at the project level and contribute to mitigation planning.
    • Identify obstacles preventing reporting and propose practical improvements.
    • Map local NGOs or associations working on abuse prevention or sexual harassment (where relevant), in collaboration with the Safeguarding Supervisor/Coordinator.

    Reporting & Complaint Mechanisms:

    • Support the establishment and monitoring of safe, confidential, and accessible complaint channels.
    • Raise awareness on how to receive complaints in a sensitive and appropriate manner.
    • Ensure staff understand referral pathways without directly handling case management (unless formally mandated).
    • Provide regular feedback to the Safeguarding Coordinator on gaps or weaknesses in reporting systems.

    Capacity Building:

    • Facilitate workshops and participatory sessions adapted to project realities.
    • Contribute to building a culture of respectful and accountable behaviour within the project.

    Monitoring & Reporting:

    • Conduct regular follow-up of safeguarding activities within the project.
    • Produce monthly activity reports covering:
      • Awareness sessions conducted
      • Key themes and concerns raised
      • Identified risks and barriers
      • Status of complaint mechanisms
      • Recommendations for improvement

    Collaboration:

    • Work closely with:
      • Project Coordinator and Project Medical Referent
      • HR Team
      • Community Engagement Teams
      • MoH counterparts (where relevant)
      • Safeguarding Officer / Safeguarding Team

    Minimum Required Skills and Qualifications
    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Law, Education, Social Communication, Psychology, or a related field (desirable).

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in:
      • Social work, community engagement, safeguarding, or rights-based organizations
      • Abuse prevention or gender-based violence programming (asset)
      • Facilitating group discussions or awareness sessions
    • Humanitarian experience is an asset

    Language:

    • Proficiency in English and Igbo
    • Knowledge of local languages spoken within the project context is mandatory

    Competencies:

    • Strong facilitation and communication skills
    • Ability to manage sensitive topics confidentially
    • Cultural sensitivity and high ethical standards
    • Ability to work independently and maintain neutrality
    • Capacity to build trust with staff and communities

    Additional Requirements:

    • Commitment to the values and principles of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)
    • Ability to travel within the project area if required
    • Preferably, experience working with women’s groups or vulnerable communities (where contextually relevant).

    Driver

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities (non-exhaustive list)

    • Performing the tasks of transporting authorized goods and passengers in an MSF vehicle, ensuring its technical and safety conditions, and respecting the country's traffic rules and MSF security rules, in order to provide a safe, smooth, and efficient service.
    • Checking daily, the technical conditions of the assigned vehicle (state of the tires, oil, fuel, brakes, radio equipment, spare parts, etc.), performing weekly checks according to the MSF Logbook, refilling it when necessary, and keeping it clean to ensure it can be driven in perfect conditions.
    • Carrying out a handover if another user uses the vehicle.
    • Ensuring correct loading and unloading of the vehicle, submitting the documents to the receiver of the goods, checking the status of delivered goods, returning the duly completed documents to Logistics, and ensuring that the goods have the necessary documents.
    • Ensuring that all vehicle documents and the driver's driving license are valid and in the vehicle.
    • Informing the line manager of any incident involving the transportation of passengers and/or goods.
    • Knowing how to use all types of radios, codes, call numbers, and radio alphabets by heart and communicating with base according to MSF communications policy to inform the driver's position and any potential implications.

    Requirements

    • Education: Technical certification or proven experience in automotive mechanics, plus a valid driving license, is required.
    • Experience: 2 years minimum.
    • Previous experience is required. Experience with MSF or other NGO is desirable.
    • Computer Literacy: Computer proficiency (Word and Excel) is required.
    • Languages: English Required, plus knowledge of the local language is desired.
    • Competencies and Qualities: Result, Organizational ability and quality orientation, teamwork and cooperation, behavioral flexibility, stress management, and commitment to humanitarian objectives and to MSF Principles.
