Job Description

• We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated News/Features Editor to oversee, research, write, edit, and publish news stories and feature articles on our news platform, The Journal Nigeria.
• The ideal candidate should have a strong grasp of journalistic principles and editorial processes and the ability to manage a team of writers while ensuring accuracy, relevance, and timeliness in reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the creation and publication of news stories and feature articles.
• Ensure all content aligns with the publication’s editorial policies and target audience.
• Manage and guide a team of reporters, writers and contributors.
• Plan and coordinate editorial meetings to brainstorm, assign and review stories.
• Edit and fact-checked articles to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to ethical journalism.
• Research and identify current news trends, breaking stories and feature ideas.
• Uphold journalistic integrity, copyright laws and press regulations.

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, or a related field.
• A Master’s degree or professional certification in journalism/media studies is a plus.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Excellent news judgment and ability to identify compelling stories.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Leadership and team management capabilities.
• Familiarity with content management systems and digital publishing tools.

Experience:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in journalism, editorial management, or news reporting.

Job summary

• We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead our team. As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire project, ensuring its successful execution, and meeting our objectives.

Responssibilities

• Identify women with exceptional stories to share
• Manage the creation and publication of their stories in e-book format
• Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the stories and the project Maintain and update the project website
• Manage social media accounts and create engaging content
• Collaborate with writers to create high-quality content
• Meet and exceed project targets and goals

Requirements

• Candidate should possess an HND/First Degree with 5+ years of experience in project management, marketing, and content creation
• Proven track record of successfully managing projects from start to finish
