    Senior Technician, Mechanical - Power Plant

    Location: Ibese Plant, Ibese Plant

    Job Purpose

    • To perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of all rotating and static mechanical equipment in the refinery and associated power generation units (boilers, gas turbines, compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, etc.) to ensure continuous, safe, and reliable plant operation.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Carry out maintenance, overhaul, and alignment of rotating machinery such as pumps, compressors, turbines, blowers, and gearboxes.
    • Perform installation and maintenance of piping systems, valves, pressure vessels, and mechanical seals.
    • Execute preventive maintenance as per CMMS schedules 
    • Assist to diagnose mechanical faults using vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis data.
    • Conduct maintenance on gas turbine auxiliary systems (lube oil, hydraulic, fuel, and cooling systems).
    • Assist in overhauls of gas turbines, combustion chambers, and steam turbines.
    • Support maintenance of boilers, condensers, and heat recovery steam generators (HRSG).
    • Fabricate and repair mechanical components, ensuring alignment and tolerance checks.
    • Participate in shutdown planning, execution, and commissioning of equipment.
    • Ensure adherence to refinery safety and permit-to-work (PTW) procedures.
    • Maintain records of maintenance jobs, parts used, and inspection findings.

    Qualifications

    • Trade Test 1/ National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
    • 5–10 years of maintenance experience in a refinery, petrochemical, or power generation plant.
    • Certification in Turbine Maintenance, API 610/617 Equipment, or similar is an advantage.

    Required Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong knowledge of rotating equipment maintenance and alignment techniques.
    • Familiarity with gas turbine/thermal power plant mechanical systems 
    • Understanding of mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and isometrics.
    • Ability to use laser alignment, torque wrenches, dial gauges, and vibration analyzers.
    • Knowledge of lubrication systems and reliability maintenance practices.

    Finance, Audit & Reporting Lead

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Finance, Audit & Reporting Lead is a key strategic role responsible for overseeing and coordinating the review, validation, and consolidation of financial, audit, and performance reporting across business units. This role ensures strict compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and audit frameworks while providing critical insights and summaries to support executive decision-making at the VP level.

    Serving as the primary liaison between the Office of the VP and various business functions, the Finance, Audit & Reporting Lead facilitates efficient communication, monitors adherence to governance standards, and manages interactions with external parties on tax compliance and investor relations matters. The role demands strong analytical acumen, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to highlight key trends, risks, and intervention points that impact business strategy and operational integrity.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Review all documents from Business units and functions, for completeness, accuracy and relevance for the VP’s final decision
    • Validate the handling of all exceptions from the Group Controller – Office of the VP as input to preparing final documents for presentation to the VP
    • Confirm strict adherence to company policies, guidelines and other directives from the office of the VP
    • Review Financial Reports and highlight key trends, observations and interventions points required by the office of the VP
    • Summarize key highlights of Performance Reports distilling key notes for the attention for the VP
    • Facilitate all interactions with 3rd parties on Tax Compliance or Investor Relations matters.
    • Coordinate an up-to date approval log of all submissions for the VP’s approval and ensure YES/NO decisions within set response times as agreed by the VP.
    • Assist the Group Controller – Office of the VP, in highlighting key decisions/ intervention points for the attention of the VP
    • Monitor strict compliance with the overall Audit Framework including governance approach, procedures, processes and tools in adherence to company policies, guidelines and other directives from the office of the VP

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Drive the approved implementation of annual Quality Control Plan for the plant.
    • Ensure that production quality control processes are implemented in line with agreed upon procedures and guidelines.
    • Supervise laboratory operations to ensure precision in the sample testing process for raw materials, intermediate products, final products, oil, water, gas, etc. and appropriate calibration of equipments.
    • Ensure all set product quality targets are met and deviations from target quality standards are promptly identified and rectified.
    • Coordinate the weaning and pilling of cement raw materials; and control of chemical parameters.
    • Liaise with process control operatives with regards to the quality control parameters for semi-finished (Raw meal and Clinker) and final products.
    • Support the Head, Quality Assurance & Control in ensuring final product meet quality specifications and agreed standards.
    • Ensure preventive maintenance is carried out on laboratory equipments and effective housekeeping is conducted in the laboratories.
    • Ensure calibration is carried out on laboratory equipments as scheduled.
    • Responsible for implementing safety in the department as per Company guidelines and ensure 100% compliance.
    • Provide periodic reports on the activities and performance of the plant QA/ QC function for the attention of the Head, Quality Assurance & Control
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by Head, Quality Assurance & Control.

    Requirements

    Education and Work Experience

    • First degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering.

    Job Summary

    The Electrical Technician at Dangote Cement Plc is responsible for performing routine maintenance, installation and repairs to electrical power, motor, motor control circuits etc on the various plant machines.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities
