Job Purpose
- To maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot process instrumentation, control systems, and automation equipment in the refinery and power plant areas to ensure optimum plant performance, product quality, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Calibrate and maintain field instruments: pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters.
- Maintain analyzers (oxygen, hydrocarbon, pH, conductivity, etc.) and control valves (pneumatic/electric).
- Perform loop checks and commissioning of instruments and DCS/PLC systems.
- Troubleshoot control systems in gas turbine and boiler operations (fuel control, speed, load, temperature).
- Maintain distributed control systems (DCS), PLCs, and fieldbus networks (Profibus, Modbus, Ethernet).
- Support calibration of vibration sensors, speed probes, and thermocouples on turbine units.
- Work with electrical and mechanical teams during plant shutdowns and startups.
- Ensure correct configuration and data logging in control systems for process optimization.
- Comply with refinery safety, hot work, and isolation procedures.
- Maintain calibration records, loop drawings, and maintenance logs.
- Strictly adhere to refinery HSE standards and permit-to-work systems.
- Participate in job safety analysis (JSA), toolbox talks, and incident reporting.
- Ensure use of appropriate PPE during maintenance work.
- Support continuous improvement in reliability and energy efficiency programs.
Qualifications
- Trade Test 1/ National Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Control Engineering.
- 5–10 years’ experience in a refinery, petrochemical, or power generation environment.
- OEM or vendor-specific training in DCS/PLC systems preferred.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Expertise in process instrumentation and control systems (Honeywell, Siemens, ABB, or Emerson).
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, and control logic.
- Knowledge of gas turbine instrumentation and combustion control systems.
- Understanding of HART, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, and smart instrument diagnostics.
- Strong analytical and fault-finding ability in automation systems.

The HEMM Operators Training Programme is designed to develop safe, skilled, and competent operators for mining operations with a target of providing a ready pool of well-trained candidates to take up positions as Dangote Cement certified mines HEMM Operators.
Programme Overview
The training programme will combine behavioural screening, safety training, classroom instruction, simulations, workshops, and intensive field practice to prepare participants for effective and safe operation of Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM).
The training duration is 6 months.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for this opportunity, candidates must possess the following:
- National Diploma or Higher National Diploma Certificates in Mining, Mineral Processing, Mechanical Engineering and Automobile engineering.
- Age limit must be between 22 to 35 years old
- Valid means of identification
- Good physical and mental fitness
- Strong safety awareness and discipline
- Willingness to undergo intensive training and assessments
Previous mining or equipment operation experience is an added advantage but not mandatory.

Job Summary
Plan and coordinate all packing plant maintenance activities to prevent disruptions to packing plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the development and articulation of the plant’s maintenance plan.
- Oversee the effective and efficient execution of the plant’s maintenance plan at the packing plant unit.
- Plan for and order packing plant machine spares, based on the units requirement, in a timely manner.
- Supervise the activities of engineers to ensure that packing plant equipment are available for operations with minimum downtime in order to meet pre-set targets.
- Oversee liaison with the relevant HSE personnel for the provision of personal protection equipment and safety training.
- Ensure that routine and corrective maintenance is carried out on packing plant machines in a timely and efficient manner.
- Coordinate the management of a database for all maintenance activities.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Head, Packing Plant.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or its equivalent.
- Professional Certification is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 15 years relevant work experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment’s with accuracy and speed.

Job Summary
We are looking for a Mechanical Rigger that shall be responsible for the safe and efficient movement, installation, and dismantling of heavy machinery and equipment within the cement plant. This includes setting up rigging systems, operating lifting tools, and assisting in maintenance activities during plant shutdowns or scheduled servicing.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
- Set up and dismantle rigging equipment such as pulleys, beams, clamps, and bolts.
- Align, level, and anchor heavy machinery like crushers, mills, and conveyors.
- Attach loads securely for lifting and transport using cranes or hoists.
- Inspect rigging gear before and after use to ensure safety and reliability.
- Undertake lifting and movement of plant components during maintenance.
- Assist in the erection and dismantling of scaffolding structures.
- Maneuver loads manually or with machinery, ensuring precision and safety.
- Collaborate with fitters and technicians during plant maintenance.
- Help dismantle and reassemble machinery for servicing or relocation.
- Ensure tools and lifting equipment are maintained and stored properly.
- Communicate effectively with team members during lifting operations.
- Conduct post-operation inspections and report any equipment faults.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by Sectional Heads.
Requirements
Education and Work Experience
- National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent in Engineering.
- Minimum of ten (10) years relevant work experience.
