    Legal Officer

    Major Responsibilities

    • Will serve as IHF attorney and legal adviser
    • On behalf of IHF take up human right cases reported to IHF, address and act on the cases (or rights) on behalf of IHF for such individuals or group.
    • Would be working to defend and advocate for victims of human rights violations reported to IHF in addition to ensuring the protection of the rights and equality of every member of staff of IHF.
    • Would seek the promotion and protection of civil and political rights as well as the promotion, protection and realization of economic, social and cultural rights of victims seeking IHF intervention.
    • Would be in charge of gathering data of victims whose human rights have been violated that have sought IHF assistance for redress.
    • Will be reviewing cases alongside legal experts for IHF victims.
    • Presenting public awareness in IHF human rights literacy initiatives.
    • Dissuading prospective perpetrators from engaging in elicit undertakings.
    • Will not be a full-time staff of IHF, but will always be available when legal services are needed.
    • Will be to IHF office at least 3 times in a week.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of an LL.B.
    • At least 3 years’ experience in legal profession, especially in human rights cases in civil law
    • Demonstrated Managerial/Leadership Competencies
    • Astute legal prowess and sagacity
    • Demonstrate leadership and communication skills
    • Excellent Interpersonal and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to handle a large and dynamic workload, work under pressure and meet deadlines.

    Outreach Coordinator

    Major Responsibilities

    • The outreach coordinator will be working with the program department.
    • Carrying out IHF outreach or intervention plans or and activities in the coordination of such activity and plan.
    • Designed intervention or outreach initiatives to create or maintain a favourable public image for IHF and also raise issue awareness for the organization.
    • In sync with the program officer, the outreach coordinator will plan, direct and coordinate IHF outdoor activities, whether to solicit for funds, or for special projects or nonprofit activities.
    • Schedule and coordinate focus groups, IHF outdoor meetings, and outdoor presentations and encourage underserved communities to seek services through the program department.
    • Will be involved in public relations, volunteer relations, and fundraising. The outreach coordinator is responsible for a variety of tasks, from data collection and analysis to organizing media events.
    • The outreach unit will have three volunteers that will work with the coordinator during an IHF outreach.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of a Degree in Social or Development works or in any related field.
    • At least 3 years experience in outreach coordination and events management
    • An extra certification or qualification will be an added advantage
    • Demonstrated Managerial/Leadership Competencies
    • Excellent event planning and management skill.
    • Demonstrate leadership and communication skills
    • Excellent Interpersonal and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to handle a large and dynamic workload, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Should have experienced driving skills with a valid driver’s license experience and good knowledge about minor car repairs.

    Communication Officer

    Major Responsibilities

    • Supports the senior management team to develop and implement effective communication strategies for various targeted audience.
    • Keeps track of donor requirements on reporting and visibility, ensuring success stories, reporting and visibility materials are delivered on time.
    • Manage all IHF website and social media platforms to ensure compliance.
    • Conduct capacity training for program staff in story writing and capturing of audio-visual resources.
    • Design and distribute communication materials including publications, bulletins, brochures, success stories, press releases on IHF website and all her social media handles.
    • Design and send out IHF annual reports, speeches and other publicity materials as sent in by the program department on IHF website and on her social media handles to promote the organization’s key messages, activities and services thereby pushing her visibility in the world wide web community.
    • Stand in to handle media inquiries and arrange media sequences for IHF events/campaigns.
    • Seek opportunities to promote an enhanced IHF reputation through deliberate excellent media buzz by projecting IHF programs, activities, and events on the internet, social media, and even on mainstream media.
    • Perform any other tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism or other related field.
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the field of print or mass media
    • Knowledge in the relevant field of ICT; ICT Certifications content management system, website and social media management will be an added advantage.
    • Vast knowledge of all photo-editing software.
    • Demonstrated Managerial/Leadership Competencies
    • Act as an ambassador for IHF Nigeria, through professionalism and conduct.
    • Adhere to all IHF policies and procedures both technical and administrational
    • Excellent Interpersonal and problem-solving skills
    • Undertake and apply learning from appropriate training and development programs.
