ROLE OVERVIEW
As the Communications & Movement Building Lead, you will lead the organisation’s communications, public engagement, and narrative positioning.
You will combine storytelling, advocacy, and digital strategy to influence public discourse and mobilise communities around critical social issues.
Compensation: ₦800,000/month (Gross)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Communications & Narrative Leadership
- Lead the organisation’s communications and movement-building strategy
- Shape messaging, tone, and narrative across all platforms
- Ensure alignment across programmes, advocacy, research, and digital outputs
Advocacy, Media & Campaigns
- Design and execute high-impact advocacy campaigns
- Build and manage relationships with media, policymakers, and influencers
- Lead public-facing messaging and media engagement
- Oversee creative direction and external partners
Digital & Content Strategy
- Oversee digital platforms and social media presence
- Drive creation of high-quality content (reports, blogs, multimedia)
- Use analytics to improve reach, engagement, and influence
Events & Public Engagement
- Provide oversight for major events, forums, and dialogues
- Ensure strong storytelling, visibility, and audience engagement
- Drive post-event communications and impact
Community & Movement Building
- Lead membership and engagement strategy
- Build strong communities of practice and partnerships
- Amplify organisational voice through stakeholders and networks
Crisis Communication
- Develop and implement crisis communication strategies
- Lead response during sensitive or high-risk situations
Performance, MEAL & Reporting
- Track performance metrics (reach, engagement, influence)
- Produce reports for leadership and stakeholders
- Use insights and feedback to continuously improve strategy
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 6–7+ years in communications, advocacy, or related roles
- Strong experience in media engagement, campaigns, and brand management
- Proven ability to lead strategy and manage teams
- Excellent storytelling, writing, and editorial skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Proficiency in digital platforms and analytics tools
- Bachelor’s degree required | Master’s degree is an advantage
