    Young Professional Development Programme - ELearning/IT trainee

    The Programme

    The Young Professional Development Programme is a project aimed at raising emerging leaders  in the development sector in Africa. It is designed to equip fresh graduates with the right knowledge, skills, tools and essential training needed to accelerate their career development, professional potential and opportunities for global exposure. In the end the full potential of the individual is attained.

    This programme is one of  LEAP Africa’s premier innovations, and it is solely targeted at refining the talents in young graduates. It is a well structured 12 months post NYSC on-the-job training experience, with hands-on supervisory mentorship that builds the young graduate’s key strengths, equipping them with the capacity to create positive and lasting impact  in communities across Africa. Hence the skills gap between school learning and practical real world implementation will be bridged by this programme.

    Eligibility

    Criteria for selection

    • Minimum of Bsc degree from an accredited university.
    • Must have completed the NYSC programme with not more than 2 years working experience.
    • Not more than 27 years.
    • Candidates should be based in Lagos and able to commit to 12 months at LEAP Africa.
    • An individual with strong commitment to social change, a history of volunteering is an added advantage.
    • Innovation driven, rather than embracing status quo
    • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit with passion for excellence.
    • Engagement in extracurricular activities in school or community is an added advantage.

    Core Functions/Responsibilities

    • Assists with the creation and revision of training materials, including job aids, eLearning, videos, and other formats.
    • Collaborates with the Learning Team and subject matter experts (“SMEs”) in the business to create training solutions.
    • Develops instructional content, incorporating clear and concise writing skills, learning best practices, and effective graphic design.
    • Edits materials to ensure that writing is grammatically correct, clear and concise.
    • Adheres to Organizational brand standards, and applies design consistency and quality across all training materials.
    • Works individually and collaboratively with The Learning Team to meet deadlines and expectations for each project.
    • Support the designated departments’ specific project needs.
    • Identifies and executes individual projects as requested by department leadership.
    • Maintains systems, databases and updates LEAP Africa web pages
    • Provide IT support for all programmes and events
    • Work within the information technology department answering support queries via, email and in person

    The required candidate Should possess the Following

    • Proficiency in the G-Suite, MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
    • Technology savvy and able to adapt tech tools to create innovative services and products.
    • Interest in creating digital/e-Learning experiences.
    • Basic web development skills such as HTML and CSS.
    • Good writing and conceptualization skills

    • Support the Programmes team with the design of projects. This may include consultation with partners, designing activities, budgeting, creating timelines for delivery and monitoring & evaluation planning.
    • Support the Programmes team in managing active projects including coordinating activities with stakeholders,reviewing financial and narrative reports and keeping up-to-date records of project activities.
    • Support the Programmes team with general administration tasks, such as creating reports, knowledge/information management and other responsibilities.
    • Undertake research on assigned projects and provide similar support on special projects where required
    • Deliver/Lead regular presentations to the team.
    • Ensure information requested on projects is presented accurately and on time.
    • Perform all other tasks as assigned.

    The required candidate Should possess the Following

    • Proficiency in the G-Suite, MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
    • Smart and well-articulated.
    • Strong project management skills - Interest and experience in programme management, research curriculum development, event planning

    • Support the management of LEAP Africa's social media presence.
    • Support the measurement and reporting of performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assets against goals (ROI and KPIs).
    • Identify trends and insights, and optimise spending and performance on all digital marketing platforms.
    • Support the achievements of communications and marketing objectives.
    • Support the design and implementation of the organisation’s social media strategy, ensuring successful system deployment in line with the organisation's goal
    • Support and ensure seamless execution of social media content calendars and schedules.
    • Support with content writing and development of articles and creating visibility for the organisation.
    • Monitor, measure and analyse the performance of content using analytics every quarter across Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, LEAP blog)

    • Support the process of online and offline data collection for baseline and end line, registration data in training and youth engagement events, support the deployment of participant feedback forms both online and offline and also reporting on a daily basis and weekly basis.
    • Assist in data collection and analysis for weekly, monthly and quarterly reports
    • Support Monitoring efforts for online and offline training activities across the learning platforms.
    • Participate in internal and external meetings as needed.
    • Support quality assurance by monitoring M&E processes during physical training programmes and conduct interviews.
    • Consistently follow up with the wider team on data collection regarding indicators and impacts. Respond to ad hoc M&E support requests from program teams.

    Core Functions/Responsibilities

    • Support in maintaining financial files and records, and ensure transactions are properly recorded on ERP (Oracle Netsuite), Closeout all purchase order requests, invoices, expense reports, and cash advance requests to aid monthly bank reconciliations.
    • Follow due financial processes and ensure proper documentation and projectized coding of all financial transactions both project and operations.
    • Manage the inventory database, periodic verification of physical inventory and assets, checking and filling stores requisition
    • Responsible for bank visits, handling financial transactions as directed by the supervisor.
    • Updating company organisation talent tracker by inputting new candidates information and interview report.
    • Ensures HR Newsletter is published quarterly
    • Sort incoming resumes and logs them into appropriate tracking spreadsheets
    • Screening potential employees' resumes and application forms to identify suitable candidates to fill company job vacancies.
    • Support in organizing interviews with shortlisted candidates
    • Send out emails to celebrate staff birthdays and work anniversary
    • Perform all other tasks as assigned .
