    Lead Business Intelligence Developer

    Description
    What you’ll do:

    • This highly visible business-facing role is responsible for building operational and critically important dashboards, scorecards, and other decision-support visualizations - all on a modern cloud platform. 
    • The role will also support data warehouse design and executive-level discussions regarding new opportunities and viable capabilities of the business intelligence and visualization platform.

    Responsibilities
    Who you are:

    • Hands-on developer and teammate with passion for working on a variety of data projects.
    • Interacts directly and maintains flexibility with business to meet desired outcomes.
    • Leads effort to build strong functional requirements to deliver premier data visualizations.
    • Builds wireframes for insightful discussions, authors documentation, and supports end-user training around usage and full functionality.
    • Participates and chips in to discussions regarding the advantages and disadvantages of data warehouse design approaches.
    • Maintains metadata catalog for reporting, critical metrics, and available working visualizations.
    • Supports code review process, provides advice and gives constructive feedback to fellow business intelligence and visualization developers.
    • Crafts open dialogues and discourses with data team leads to remove much of the opacity in directional decision making.
    • Supports the drive for innovation through identifying emerging trends and their alignment to business outcomes.
    • Ensures that technical requirements and standard methodologies are met and deployed within the context of the data teams standards.
    • Builds trust in all interactions and always strives to improve the team around you.
    • Passion for leaving the code base better than it was found.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, Business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Deep understanding of business intelligence and visualization tools, e.g. Looker.
    • Experienced with dimensional modeling methodologies and approaches to support complex visualizations.
    • Deep understanding of ANSI SQL.
    • Experience working with cloud data platforms, e.g. GCP Big Query.
    • Understanding of working with data integration tools, e.g. dbt.
    • Ability to assess business needs and translate them into appropriate data designs.
    • Experience researching performance bottlenecks, diagnosing problems, and articulating viable solutions to implement.
    • General understanding of distributed version control systems, e.g. Git.
    • Desire to work in a constantly evolving environment and maintain the ability to shift in new directions as business needs are altered.
    • Ability to lead, handle, coach, mentor, and empower team members on a global scale.

    Senior Talent Sourcer

    About the Role

    • We're looking for a Senior Talent Sourcer to join our Talent Acquisition team. The Talent team is tasked with finding, attracting and bringing outstanding experts to our Talent Network and hiring strategic on demand roles. 
    • As a Senior Talent Sourcer, you'll be our sourcing subject matter expert, help grow our team in an innovative way and define a new function at Andela. 
    • You'll have the autonomy to improve and build our sourcing strategies and actions.

    Requirements

    • Excellent research skills with validated experience in sourcing specialty Tech profiles.
    • Outstanding knowledge of LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean searches, social media, and any other alternative searches.

    • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and connect with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

    Machine Learning Engineering Lead

    About the Role

    • Andela’s two-sided marketplace is a multifaceted hub of experienced talent and leading companies with exciting challenges related to pricing, matching, marketplace health, go-to-market campaigns, and many others. 
    • Data Science (DS) is a key weapon at Andela to attack these problems. We employ a wide variety of approaches including but not limited to system dynamics and simulation, machine learning (ML) on both structured and unstructured data, recommendation algorithms, and combinatorial optimization. 
    • The ML Engineering Lead at Andela will take primary ownership of deploying all ML and DS algorithms on Andela’s product marketplace. 
    • You will be defining solution architecture and playing an active role in algorithm deployment with a razor-sharp focus on minimizing latency, managing computation resources effectively and guiding the execution of this model in collaboration with the Andela data, engineering and product teams.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with the Principal Data Scientist, product managers and platform engineers to identify the right delivery approach for algorithms.
    • Develop ML Architecture for each solution to meet product and system performance requirements.
    • Deploy the solution in production in collaboration with the data, engineering and product teams and build appropriate monitoring systems.

    Requirements

    • Graduate Degree (MS / Ph.D.) in Engineering / Information Systems / Applied Science.
    • High fluency in ML algorithms and other data science approaches.
    • Minimum of 5 years of work experience deploying algorithms in production for impactful B2B and/or B2C products.
    • Flexibility in working with a variety of data science approaches.
    • Expertise in one or more object-oriented languages such as Python or Java.
    • Experience with cloud-based environments such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
