    Travel Clerk (Maternity Cover)

    Main Purpose of Job

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Plan and run an efficient travel-booking scheme.
    • Provides information concerning fares, availability of flights and accommodation.
    • Provide excellent and efficient solutions to problems that may arise with travel bookings. Support to the overall OP TURUS travel unit within the budgeted resources.
    • Provides answers about travel policies and processes.
    • Confers with clients by telephone, writing or in person to answer questions regarding services and travel preferences.
    • Process information-compiling, categorization, calculating, auditing and verifying data within the budgeted resources.
    • Dispatch of official documents, Filing and Record Keeping
    • Other duties as may be assigned by Line Manager.

    Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience  

    • Previous experience in Travel administration e.g. in travel agent role.
    • Customer service orientation and attention to details at all times.
    • Experience of working in a Team to deliver a quality service in a high-pressure environment.
    • Ability to handle multiple assignments and prioritise.
    • A good command of English language - both verbally and in writing. 
    • Flexible approach to problem solving with an ability to think on their feet
    • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
    • A self-starter able to work with minimal supervision. A positive attitude is essential.
    • Good organisational skills - capable of working quickly and accurately.
    • Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools.

    Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

    • Familiar with the principles and processes for flight and hotel bookings.
    • Experience of working in a travel agency. 
    • Reliability and experience of working in security sector or with the military.

    Main Purpose of Job

    • To provide transport services for staff and visitors of OP TURUS Nigeria to and from assigned destinations within Lagos and Nigeria as a whole in a safe, efficient and courteous manner observing all road traffic rules and post security regulations.
    • Perform administrative duties as may be required to support the effective running of Transport operations in the Nigeria Network.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Drive OP TURUS staff and visitors to meetings and functions within Lagos and Nigeria.
    • Complete transport-booking requests and communicate effectively with customers and other stakeholders.
    • Conduct Airport runs to pick up/drop off OP TURUS staff and visitors. Liaise with Airport officials as necessary.
    • Undertake journeys to other states within Nigeria as necessary.
    • Perform duties in line with post security regulations.
    • Complete accurate journey record sheets for all journeys in official vehicles.
    • Keep accurate records of vehicle mileage, fuel consumption and maintenance work/costs
    • Perform daily inspections to ensure that all official vehicles are road worthy and in good working order.
    • Wash/Clean official vehicles ensuring they are kept tidy and parked in a secured area.
    • Complete vehicle inspection checklists and promptly report any defects, faults or incidents that occur to the OP TURUS Fleet Manager
    • Check that all vehicle equipment and tools are secured safely and are functioning correctly.

    Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

    • Full valid Nigerian driving licence - Class E & G
    • Minimum of 3 years verifiable previous driving experience
    • Previous experience of driving Armoured Vehicles
    • Must possess a minimum of SSCE with 5 credits obtained in one sitting

    Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

    • Experience of driving for other Embassies or NGOs and International Organisations.
    • Basic Computer skills - Microsoft Office tools.
    • Reliability and experience of working in security sector or with the military.

    Security Administration & Liaison Officer (SALO), Northern Nigeria Threat Analysis & Travel Team (NNTATT)

    Main Purpose of Job

    • The Security Administration & Liaison Officer (SALO) will fulfil an important role within the British High Commission’s Northern Nigeria Threat Analysis & Travel Team (NNTATT).
    • They will be involved in all phases of official travel for all BHC colleagues, to areas where British Government advises against travel or limited travel.  The existing NNTATT security framework includes the administrative and actual preparation of travelers, the deployment of the travelers and post deployment activities.
    • The SALO under the guidance of his line-manager, the Security Liaison Officer (SLO), will build on and maintain strong contacts within key Host State government authorities and other key partner entities (INGOs, UN, and Private Security Providers). This will involve the highest level of diplomacy and liaison with the various stakeholders on a varied range of security issues. This will involve frequent trips to the region to conduct liaison and fact finding activities and accompanying travelers on their journeys as the security subject matter expert (SME).
    • The SALO will be responsible for all protective equipment, auditing, inspecting and maintaining.
    • As stated above the SALO will routinely undertake other roles to enable the services provided to BHC and visiting staff by NNTATT. This will include conducting risk assessments, reviewing travel requests, briefing travelers and senior managers.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Providing support in the first instance to the SLO
    • Maintaining and auditing all protective security equipment
    • Providing routine support to the NNTATT as directed, especially in the area of Travel Risks Assessment (this is a key legal element of our duty of care to take reasonable measures to protect staff from reasonably foreseeable harm)
    • Assist the team in the assessing and analysing of vulnerabilities and risk to the regions travelled to;
    • Plan and prepare to minimise threats, vulnerabilities and risks to traveling staff;
    • Liaise and communicate with travellers and others on all subjects relevant to the trip;
    • Ensure and maintain secure environments for travellers and staff working permanently in expeditionary areas.
    • Provide security related advice to deployed staff;
    • Manage financial related aspects of deployments with relevant security stakeholders.

    Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience  

    • Proven security related liaison experience
    • Experience of working in the North or/and the North-East of Nigeria
    • Experience of producing reports
    • Evidence of working in a security role without direct supervision in a fragile environment
    • Able to display sound judgement and common sense when given a task, or being asked for advice
    • Good communications skills
    • Fluent in English language ( Excellent  written and oral).

    Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

    • Knowledge of regional languages
    • Knowledge of Standard Physical Security
    • Previous working with Nigerian military or / and police
    • Previous working with INGOs or UN in Nigeria
    • Knowledge of dealing with service providers  and stakeholders
    • Higher Education obtained (resulting in the award of an academic degree).

    Required Competencies:

    • Seeing the Big Picture, Making Effective Decisions, Leading and Communicating, Collaborating and Partnering.

    Salary
    N573,296 monthly.
