    Accountant

    Reports To: Managing Director
    Supervises: Accounts Assistants, Cashiers (where applicable)

    Job Purpose

    To manage the financial records, ensure compliance with accounting standards and statutory regulations, and provide accurate and timely financial reports to support effective decision-making and the sustainability of the diagnostic centre.

    Key Responsibilities

    Financial Accounting & Reporting

    • Maintain accurate financial records in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Nigerian accounting standards.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow).
    • Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
    • Track daily revenue, expenses, and outstanding payments.

    Budgeting & Financial Planning

    • Assist management in preparing and monitoring annual budgets.
    • Provide variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
    • Monitor financial performance against revenue targets and expenditure controls.

    Cash & Revenue Management

    • Oversee daily cash collections, deposits, and petty cash management.
    • Ensure prompt billing of clients and follow-up on outstanding receivables.
    • Work closely with front desk and laboratory units to reconcile patient billing and test payments.

    Compliance & Audit

    • Ensure compliance with tax laws, pension contributions, and statutory remittances (PAYE, VAT, WHT, etc.).
    • Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
    • Implement internal controls to safeguard the centre’s assets.

    Payroll & Staff Benefits

    • Manage staff payroll and ensure accurate deductions for statutory obligations.
    • Maintain records of staff benefits, allowances, and reimbursements.
    • Ensure confidentiality of salary and personnel information.

    Administrative & Advisory Support

    • Support procurement decisions by providing cost analysis and financial advice.
    • Maintain asset register and depreciation schedules.
    • Provide financial insights to management for business growth and investment planning.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, ICAN) is an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare or service industry.
    • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, IFRS, and regulatory compliance.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Tally, or ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • High ethical standards, integrity, and attention to detail.

    Medical Laboratory Scientist

    Reports To: Managing Director
    Supervises: Laboratory Technicians, Assistants, Interns

    Job Purpose

    To deliver reliable and timely diagnostic services that support accurate patient diagnosis and treatment, while ensuring compliance with professional standards, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements within a private diagnostic centre setting.

    Key Responsibilities

    Laboratory Testing & Diagnostics

    • Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in hematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, immunology, parasitology, and molecular diagnostics.
    • Ensure accurate sample collection, labeling, processing, and analysis.
    • Validate and release test results with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
    • Provide professional input in the interpretation of test results to assist physicians and clients.

    Client-Centered Services

    • Maintain a professional and client-friendly environment.
    • Communicate test requirements, results, and follow-up procedures clearly and promptly.
    • Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of patient data.

    Quality Assurance & Equipment Management

    • Maintain calibration, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
    • Implement internal and external quality control programs in line with MLSCN guidelines.
    • Ensure reagents and consumables are adequately stocked and properly stored.

    Compliance & Safety

    • Adhere strictly to biosafety, ethical, and infection prevention protocols.
    • Ensure compliance with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) and other relevant regulatory bodies.
    • Properly manage and dispose of biohazardous waste in line with safety standards.

    Administrative & Supervisory Functions

    • Supervise and mentor laboratory technicians, assistants, and interns.
    • Maintain accurate laboratory records and reports.
    • Participate in internal audits and accreditation processes.
    • Support business growth by suggesting new diagnostic tests and innovative service improvements.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) from a recognized university.
    • Current practicing license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
    • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a diagnostic or hospital laboratory.
    • Strong knowledge of laboratory information systems (LIS) and Microsoft Office tools.
    • Proven ability to work with modern diagnostic equipment.
    • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
    • High ethical standards and attention to detail.

    Working Conditions
