    Clinician (Obio-Akpor KP OSS, Eleme DIC)

    Locations: Obio Akpor, Eleme - Rivers

    Overview

    • Diadem Consults Initiative Limited / GTE is sub recipient of the CDC grant through Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN) to expand HIV prevention, treatment, care and support services to Key Population (KP) in Rivers state.
    • In order to implement the ACHIEVE program in line with the 95’ 95’ 95’ UNAID ambitious goal and to ensure the project goals and objectives are met, the following health resource for health with the desired experience and requisite skills are required.

    Job Description

    • He/she will coordinate and supervise all clinical and program staff and ensure the delivery of high-quality HIV/AIDS and related clinical service in line with national guide lines.

    Responsibilities

    • Clinically evaluate, monitor, and manage people living with HIV and common comorbidities like tuberculosis, hypertension and diabetes among the key affected population.
    • Ensure 90-95% Retention of PLHIV enrolled into the program.
    • Ensure the provision of STI management in the OSS and on the field.
    • Ensure the provision of TPT to all clients that are eligible.
    • Support the integration of HIV/AIDS and TB services into routine health services and report performance indicators and engage in quality improvement measures.
    • Work with the program team to develop and/or review Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the provision of Antiretroviral (ART) services to Key Populations on the field.
    • Provide Pre exposure prophylaxis services, ART, PEP services, and screening for co morbidities e.g. cervical cancer screening, TB screening, Hepatitis screening services to Key Populations in line with current World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations and national guidelines both at the clinic and through mobile ART team.
    • Ensure the seamless delivery of services for clients from intake through discharge at the clinic.
    • Review and assess client treatment protocols and plans, including short- and long-term goals.
    • Ensures clinical related services are provided within and outside the clinic in an ethically, legally and morally sound environment for the benefit of the clients.
    • Drive the enrolment and retention of all HIV positive clients into care, treatment and support services within the program.
    • Review clinical records to evaluate the necessary level of patient care and provide technical support for multidisciplinary HIV/AIDs prevention, care, and treatment in Diadem’s clinic.
    • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the senior technical advisor.

    Qualifications
    Minimum Education / Training Requirement:

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine & Surgery (MBBS or MB BCh) is required.
    • A Master’s Degree in Public Health (MPH) or related field will be an added advantage.

    Prior Work Experience:

    • 4 years post national youth service experience in clinical care, with a minimum of 2 years experience in care and treatment of HIV/AIDS at the clinical level, a sound understanding of HIV/AIDS thematic areas.
    • Experience with clinical research, ARV programs and familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems are also required.

    Required Licenses, Certification or Registration:

    • Registered with Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
    • Up-to-date annual practicing license.
    • Positive attitude towards issues of development in general and reproductive health in particular.
    • Ability to interact in cross- cultural setting with ease.

    Nurse Counsellor / Adherence Officer

    Locations: Ahoada, Eleme, Obio-Akpor - Rivers

    Job Summary

    • To provide technical support and capacity strengthening in HIV counseling and testing, HIV/STI prevention education, STI syndromic management, ART and PrEP adherence counseling, care and psycho-social support group services and HIV related health care services at the community and the clinic.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Support the review of clinical records to evaluate the necessary level of patient care for HIV/AIDs prevention, care, and treatment in Diadem clinics.
    • Provide treatment care and support to all PLHIV on the program
    • Follow up and ensure the retention of clients on treatment in the OSS.
    • Elicit for sexual partners from all clients newly enrolled and currently on treatment.
    • Contribute to local capacity strengthening of the clinical team in adherence counseling and case management.
    • Support the project implementation team in coordinating and supervising support group meetings and commodity management within the OSS.
    • Contribute to the development and documentation of best practices, lessons learned and results and highlight the success of community based comprehensive HIV prevention, treatment and care among key populations.
    • Provide psychosocial support and trauma informed care and support ,treatment, and referral services to Key affected population.
    • Provide STI syndomic management to PLHIV on the field and in the OSS.
    • Perform other duties assigned by the Clinician and Technical officer.

    Qualifications

    • Level of Education - Bachelor of Nursing Degree. MPH is an advantage.
    • Minimum of 3 years relevant working experience in HIV and Sexual & Reproductive programming in the public or private health sector.
    • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria
    • Knowledge of MS application soft wares.
    • Ability and willingness to travel within the state and country when needed
    • Trained and certified HIV and AIDS counselor
    • Strong analytic and communication skills, ability to write clearly under time pressure.

    Medical Laboratory Scientist

    Location: Obio Akpor, Rivers

    Job Summary

    • The Laboratory technician would support the laboratory team to effectively support all programs and clinical activities within the communities and the OSS One stop shop.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Take samples and perform medical laboratory investigations requested by the clinical staff in the clinic and within the community.
    • Adhere to and practice use of universal precautions and proper waste management at the clinic.
    • Take inventory of laboratory supplies and ensure adequate stock levels for essential commodities
    • Maintain the confidentiality of clients and accord them dignity
    • Document information and maintain daily logs and laboratory equipment record books.
    • Keep laboratory equipment operational and following the operating instructions
    • Perform quality control tests and calibrate laboratory equipment where applicable.
    • Liaise with clinical staff for viral load sample collection and optimization for all clients enrolled into the program.
    • Ensure timely logging in of samples collected to the PCR lab while adhering to SOPs.
    • Undertake other activities as assigned by the Clinician and technical officer.

    Qualifications

    • Level of Education – Bachelor's Degree with 4 years work experience or a Master's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science with 2 years work experience
    • Current registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria
    • Effective Laboratory Quality Management System skills
    • Experience in public health and infectious diseases
    • Effective Laboratory data management and research literacy skills
    • General Communication, supervisory and interpersonal skill level – Excellent
    • Language requirements – English – excellent
    • Level of IT expertise required – good
    • Desired number of years of prior experience in a similar role – 3 to 5 years
    • Effective organizational, planning and administrative skills
    • Ability to work well individually and in a team.

    Pharmacist (Obio-Akpor KP OSS, Eleme DIC)

    Locations: Obio Akpor, Eleme - Rivers

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the day-to-day running of the pharmacy
    • Keep and maintain all the pharmacy records updated.
    • Manage the drugs, observe “First Expire, First Out - FEFO Rule” and monitor the drug expiry dates
    • Monitor stock levels of the drugs and order for re-supply taking in to account the lead time required and ensure no drug stock out at any time.
    • Counsel all the patients and educate them on the importance of compliance with the HIV medication.
    • Drive the retention and adherence of all enrolled client.
    • Dispense to the patient all drugs prescribed, report all ADR accordingly.
    • Prepare monthly summary report of the pharmacy (Consumption and stock levels of drug) activities undertaken.
    • Report to IHVN daily, weekly or monthly whatever the case maybe
    • Undertake other activities as assigned by the senior technical advisor.

    Qualifications

    • Level of Education – Minimum of B.Pharm. or equivalent. MD, Masters of Public Health, in related field will be an added advantage.
    • General communication, supervisory & interpersonal skill level – Excellent
    • Language requirements – English - Excellent

    Data Entry Assistant

    Location: Omoku, Rivers

    Job Summary

    • The DEA ensure that data quality is ensured in the program in line with donor requirement and standard practice.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Data collection, collation, review and analysis from the field and within the OSS.
    • Design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of all Diadem program activities within the OSS.
    • Ensure consistency, thoroughness and quality in data collection.
    • Support the development and implementation of SOPs for management of program data.
    • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual and adhoc reports to the senior technical lead.
    • Carry out data verification exercises at data collection points.
    • Liaise with the technical lead ,programs department, and clinical department to analyze required data daily, weekly and monthly.
    • Ensure monthly data quality assessment are carried out along with the M&E officer, proffer solution for immediate remedial actions and comply with those recommendations.
    • Produce reports on M&E findings and prepare presentations based on M&E data as required.
    • Check that monitoring data are discussed in appropriate forum and in a timely fashion in terms of implications for future action. If necessary, create such discussions to fill any gap.
    • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Technical lead.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Health Policy, Public Administration, or Public Health with 1 - 2 years of work experience.
    • Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
    • Ability and willingness to travel within the country and across the region on a regular basis
    • High degree of independence, creativity and commitment
    • Strong analytic and communication skills, ability to write clearly and succinctly under time pressure and to make well organized verbal presentations.
    • Ability to work under high pressure of work
    • Ability to travel within and outside Nigeria.
