    Administrative & Clinical Clerk

    Duties

    Incumbent support Health Unit personnel in executing the Department of State Medical Program to complete tasks that are administrative in nature, but benefit from clinical knowledge. Maintaining pharmacy records and ordering medications, reviewing storage areas and preparing un-usable items for destruction or sale, tracking both American and Local Staff chronic disease follow-up programs, tracking bio-threat supplies and medications, supporting admin assistant, clinicians, nurses and laboratory technician in daily activities. Position is directly supervised by Office Manager/Admin Assistant of the Health Unit.  

    Requirements:

    EXPERIENCE:

    • 2 years of experience in a setting requiring customer service responsibilities and prior work with medical records or handling of private, confidential information, or in clinical field is required.

    JOB KNOWLEDGE:  

    • knowledge of and ability to recognize medical names and dosing is required.

    Education Requirements:

    • Completion of Secondary School or high school diploma is required.

    Consular Associate

    Duties

    Under the direct supervision of the Consular Chief, the Consular Associate is assigned a wide range of responsibilities in the American Citizen Services (ACS) Unit, Nonimmigrant Visa (NIV) Unit, Immigrant Visa Unit, and Fraud Prevention Unit (FPU).  The jobholder provides consular services to U.S. citizens, conducts non-adjudicatory visa processing, and assists in investigation and validation studies.  Incumbent also handles correspondence with the public, attorneys, U.S. and host governments, Congress, and other parties.  Must be able to secure and maintain a Secret level security clearance.

    Requirements:

    EXPERIENCE:  

    • One year of office administrative experience is required.

    JOB KNOWLEDGE:  

    General Understanding of U.S. policies related to consular and visa operations is required.

    Education Requirements:

    • Completion of High School is required.

    • Sensitivity in evaluating evidence and applying complex regulations correctly.

    Physician

    Duties

    The incumbent provide primary urgent and emergency outpatient medical care services to all eligible American employees and their family members.  Additionally, the incumbent will provide emergency and occupational health services to all employees of the Mission.  Services will be provided through direct patient evaluation, examination, and treatment.  The LE Staff physician is responsible for determining when hospitalization/medical evacuation is required and arranging all appropriate aspects of the patient's care.  The LE Staff physician will participate in after-hours call responsibilities with other health unit team members. The job holder has significant impact on the entire embassy customer base in a variety of levels and fashions, including decisions on employees’ abilities to work, continued ability to be posted in their overseas assignment based on medical conditions that require ongoing management, and Medevac decisions and implications. The Front Office and Management Officer will look to this position to play a vital role in creating a healthier workplace, writing policies and providing advice on how to improve the health condition and awareness of the entire mission.

    Requirements:

    EXPERIENCE:  

    • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience post-graduate training in primary care (Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics, or Internal Medicine) with at least 50% of the provider's time involved with direct patient care during that time is required.

    JOB KNOWLEDGE:  

    • Applicant must be a skilled and experienced physician who recognizes and understands the problems of delivering healthcare to a large and diverse group of personnel and their family members and be able to adjust his/her response and actions to varying medical and social situations.  
    • Expert knowledge in technical medical terminologies is required. 

    Education Requirements:

    • Medical Degree from an accredited Medical School and completion of appropriate post-graduate internship/residency/or fellowship is required. Must possess and maintains a current valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine within Nigeria, country of citizenship, or the U.S.

    Telecommunications Technician

    Duties

    Incumbent supervises the telecommunication engineering office for Radio, Telephone, Television, Residence Internet and Switchboard Operations. Plans, Designs, Implements, and Manages telecommunication services and projects for Consulate and tenant agencies. Serves as liaison with local telecommunications and internet service providers and government regulatory agencies on behalf of Consulate and as Contract Officer Representative (COR) for the telecommunication engineering office. Receives direct supervision from the Information Management Specialist, Information Program Officer and Information System Officer for all accountable unclassified radios, telephones, non-enterprise mobile phones and other IPC tools and equipment. Incumbent serves as an incidental operator of official vehicles.

    Requirements:

    EXPERIENCE:  

    • Five (5) years professional experience in the field of telecommunications with two of those years in a supervisory role is required.

    JOB KNOWLEDGE:  

    • Must have detailed knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures for Telephone and Radio. 
    • In-depth knowledge and experience in implementing Radio Frequency Systems (RFS), Nortel, Avaya and Cisco VoIP Systems, Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), MPLS (Multi-Layer Switching Protocol) Network, VPN (Virtual Private Network), Programming of voice and data network elements, Video Multicasting, Satellite TV, Telecommunications Project Management, Public Private Partnership, Workplace Health & Safety is required.
    • Must have advanced knowledge of Routing, Switching and Troubleshooting of LAN, WAN and MPLS VPN. Must have knowledge of Network Security and Telecommunications Project Management.

    Education Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering or Computer Engineering is required.

    Note: NYSC Certificate or Exemption document is required.
