    Specialist - Security Governance and Assurance

    Reports To: Manager - Security Governance and Assurance

    Division: Information Technology

    Mission:

    • To be involved in all facets of Information security controls design, implementation, control assessments and optimization; implementation of ISO and NIST controls in line with the approved Cybersecurity Strategy; implementation of secure resilient technology that supports the business processes within MTN Nigeria. The position includes the development, implementation and maintenance of quality plans and procedures that allows MTNN to respond to industry standards, relevant legislation and current best practices.

    Description:

    • Ensure implementation of technical security standards/baselines across MTNN’s technology platforms as well as ongoing monitoring and reporting of compliance against the standards.
    • Ensure the integration of the MTNN’s technology platforms into the security compliance and monitoring eco-system both at opco and Group level then regularly confirm and report on ongoing effectiveness.
    • Liaise with other relevant functions to facilitate the timeous closure of incidents and vulnerabilities.
    • Ensure Security controls are regularly evaluated as part of the Security Assessment program with proposed remedial actions to address noted baseline variances.
    • Support the implementation of risk assessments exercises across the Information Technology function in order to trap and highlight information security weaknesses and advice on controls to mitigate those risks.
    • Implement standards for testing methodologies, techniques and procedures and conduct robust quality standard programme.
    • Lead IT Controls Assessments and compliance exercises.
    • Support controls design for Operating systems, Applications & Database Security, implementation, assessments & reporting.
    • Monitor the effective cascading of the Compliance strategy into the Compliance Monitoring business plans to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing strategies.
    • Monitor compliance to Information security policies, procedures and standards via a robust information security program/plan depicting continuous planned and ad-hoc audit and review exercises.
    • Liaise with other relevant functions/stakeholder to implement information security as defined by MTN Nigeria.
    • Manage escalating issues (within the information security domain) along with relevant stakeholders.
    • Assist relevant business owners and custodians in identifying and setting activities logs, audit trails, functional and technical requirements, and ensure adequate custody of such.
    • Provide adequate support for any escalated information security issues (when needed).
    • Perform Problem, Change, and Release & Configuration Management as it pertains to Information Security.                           
    • Specify, assist and delegate information security system integration concepts into SDLC process.
    • Drive the Automation of the Security Baseline configuration using Enterprise tools.
    • Serve as an internal information security consultant to MTN and advise on trending information security technologies/related regulatory issues.

    Education:

    • Minimum of First Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology/Systems or any related discipline preferred
    • Certifications:
    • Any of Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP) will be advantageous,
    • A combination of Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and any of Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) or Certified in Governance of Enterprise & IT (CGEIT), CCNA Security, CompTIA Security.

    Experience:

    3-7 years of work experience which includes:

    • Experience working in the Information Security domain.
    • Experience in the Cybersecurity Consulting, Digital Risks or Telecommunication sector is advantageous
    • Proven experience in Information Security related Governance, Technology Risk Management and Compliance, ITGCs & Automated Controls.
    • Experience conducting regular risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and prioritize cyber risks across the organization's systems, applications, and processes.
    • Experience in Data Privacy controls including knowledge of Data Privacy regulations.
    • Technical experience around Identity Access Management, Controls configuration management & automation using Puppet/Ansible/Chef, Vulnerability assessments and treatment, Technical systems baseline governance & Implementation.
    • Experience in identifying requirements, developing architectures, and deploying enterprise Security architecture, ensuring that the implementation adheres to standards and best-practices.
    • Knowledge of SQL is desirable – minimum Intermediate.
    • Experience with database security administration tools, security assessments and secure database configuration.

    Manager - Cloud Support

    Reports To: Senior Manager - Infrastructure Support

    Division: Information Technology

    Mission:

    • Lead production support for cloud-hosted enterprise services across public cloud, private cloud, and MTN Cloud consumption environments, ensuring operational stability, support readiness, and efficient recovery of cloud-based workloads.

    Description:

    • Manage day-2 support governance for cloud-hosted workloads across supported cloud environments.
    • Ensure effective execution of incident, problem, change, monitoring, and recovery processes for cloud-supported services.
    • Maintain operational documentation, support procedures, and control practices in line with approved standards.
    • Oversee daily support coverage for cloud-based enterprise services across assigned environments.
    • Validate operational readiness for planned maintenance, releases, and workload transitions into support.
    • Ensure service issues are properly logged, prioritized, tracked, and closed within agreed processes.
    • Maintain an accurate support knowledge base, including known errors, workarounds, and service dependencies.
    • Review exception reports, unresolved issues, and aged tickets, and drive follow-through to closure.
    • Support coordination of major incidents and post-incident review actions across affected services.

    Education:

    • First degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Certifications in cloud platforms, operations, monitoring, or IT Service Management are advantageous.

    Experience:

    • 6 - 13 years' experience in cloud operations, infrastructure support, systems administration, or enterprise technical support, including hands-on exposure to hyperscaler and/or private cloud environments.

    Manager - Platform Management

    Reports To: Senior Manager - Platform Management

    Division: Digital Services

    Mission:

    • Execute Digital Services’ platform strategy by identifying, developing, and managing platforms that have compelling and competitive propositions to help MTNN acquire customers and grow revenues in alignment with the overall business strategy and market requirements

    Description:

    • Implement and monitor Digital Services’ platform strategy
    • Grow platform revenues and subscriptions to exceed targets as specified in the business plan 
    • Adhere to, review, and update consistent, efficient, relevant, and standard policies, processes, and procedures for managing Digital Services’ platforms
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and onboard new strategic platforms
    • Ensure platforms adhere to all MTNN and regulatory policies relating to digital products and services
    • Identify and fulfil the expectations, needs, and priorities of key internal stakeholders, e.g., CEX, CRX, CSS, EB, Finance, Foundation, HR, IT, Marketing, Networks, Risk & Compliance, and S&D from a platform perspective
    • Implement an intra-divisional Internal Stakeholder Engagement Strategy which includes but is not limited to the rationale for regular engagements (cross-functional meetings, sessions, and workshops), engagement format, communication plan, implementation plan, monitoring and review plan, performance metrics
    • Monitor the documentation, development, testing, and launch of platforms according to the relevant Policies, Procedures, & Processes Document to exceed targets as specified in the business plan
    • Provide accurate, current, data-driven, relevant and understandable analysis, FAQs, information, and reports – including but not limited to competitive intelligence, impacting trends, and weekly performance reports – as may be required to guide management decisions and support the business planning process
    • Contribute to the growth, satisfaction, and well-being of the team and the development of a team culture focused on growth, innovation, and stakeholder management
    • Foster active collaboration and relationships with employees across all levels and divisions in line with MTNN’s refreshed values
    • Monitor direct report’s performance and assist in developing their individual streams
    • Direct, coach and guide direct report for optimal performance

    Education:

    • A first degree in any Applied/Social Sciences or related discipline
    • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
    • Certification or training in the following will be an added advantage 
      •  Agile project management
      •  Basic telecommunications fundamentals
      •  Digital products and marketing
    • Fluency in English

    Experience:

    6 - 13 years’ experience which includes:

    • A minimum of five (5) years working in a small, medium, or large organisation
    • Experience in Information Technology, OTT, or telecommunications is preferred
    • Experience in customer service, digital/growth marketing, product and value proposition development, product life cycle management, and product analytics and performance evaluation
    • Ability to analyse customer data, identify critical metrics for any digital product, manage small and large projects, and negotiate with vendors and suppliers on technical and commercial matters will also be an advantage
    • Experience in A/B testing, customer acquisition, customer service, performance evaluation, product analytics, platform and product development, product life cycle management, revenue generation on digital platforms, and UI/UX will be an added advantage
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills; Advanced ability to build strong working relationships across the organisation, influence stakeholders, and work as part of a cross-functional team
