    Protection and Gender Officer

    Post Description: 

    • The post holder will be responsible for protection mainstreaming and gender analysis on FSL, Agric, Nutrition, and WaSH components.
    • This post requires in-depth knowledge on protection mainstreaming, gender inclusion and diversity, FSL, Agric programming, nutrition and behavior change communication (SBCC).
    • The post holder will be responsible and should have vast experience on   Gender and social inclusion (GESI) analysis during program implementation and provide quality assessment on protection mainstreaming, case management and sector referral.  

    Specific duties and responsibilities:  

    • Lead project team in the development and implementation of Gender and protection components during project life circle.   
    • Advising about the effects of discrimination on grounds of age, disability, gender, race, religion, and sexual orientation.  
    • Acting as a liaison and representing vulnerable groups in the community for inclusion, diversity, and protection of members of the community  
    • Raising awareness, sensitization and promoting change on gender and protection mainstreaming  
    • Conducting gender and diversity analysis on each beneficiary selected  
    • Interpreting and ensuring safeguarding policies and compliance on Do no harm during project implementation.  
    • Facilitate referrals and liaise with relevant organizations and community groups on protection case management, diversity inclusion and protection mainstreaming.  
    • Assist in developing beneficiary selection criteria for inclusion of vulnerable groups and diversity.
    • Provide technical feedback on protection mainstreaming indicators and ensure vulnerability criteria are adopted in selecting beneficiaries.
    • Coordinate and facilitate community sessions on protection mainstreaming during trainings and endure gender and social inclusion.  
    • Coordinate community base protection network for participatory monitoring and evaluation, reflective practice, and impact measurement. 
    • Conduct project assessment on quarterly basis to assess the progress of the project for adjustments, and possible improvements. 
    • Organize meetings and FGD with beneficiaries on protection mainstreaming, gender and inclusion   and provide diversity feedback to program team. 
    • Performs other duties as assigned. 

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS 

    • Bachelor’s degree in law, psychology, business, management, education, social/community work, psychology, public administration, and sociology/social sciences preferred.  
    • Minimum of three year’s professional experience in protection mainstreaming gender and diversity 
    • Experience in developing and using protection, gender and diversity tools.
    • Previous experience in design, implementation, and mainstreaming protection in FSL, Nutrition Wash and gender programs
    • Experience in developing gender and protection training manual

    Meal Assistant (1) Kaga LGA

    Post Description:

    • The MEAL Assistant will follow up on progress and collect data on the effectiveness of planned interventions by collecting and supporting with the data analysis.
    • The MEAL Assistant plays an important role in carrying out MEAL activities in the field, including field monitoring and verification, baseline and endline assessments, needs assessment and surveys. 

    Specific duties and responsibilities:

    • Use data collection tools to gather qualitative and quantitative data at different levels (facility and community).
    • Support the MEAL department in the development of databases for all programs by using available technologies.
    • Implement the basic monitoring and evaluation concepts and system in accordance with the purpose of MEAL activities.
    • Implement field-level MEAL activities according to the MEAL work plan and support M&E activities, such as physical verification of assets, post-distribution monitoring, data quality audits, surveys/assessments, etc.
    • Ensure data entry using an electronic database.
    • Conduct on-site routine data quality audits at different field site/office levels
    • Apply the concept of ‘random sampling’ following instructions/guidelines of a manager while conducting any community-level survey.

    • Experience in Wash, nutrition, FSL and Agric.
    • Minimum of 3 years working experience NGO setting.
    • Knowledge of ArcGIS, POWERBI, COMMCARE, KOBOTOOLBOX and ODK.
    • Willing to travel to project locations as assigned by project officer.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
    • Proven success in designing, implementing, and operating project MEAL systems from project initiation to closeout stages.
    • Experience in strategic planning and performance measurement, including indicator selection, target setting, reporting, database management, and developing M&E and/performance monitoring plans.
    • Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
    • Working knowledge of data processing computer packages.

    Food Security Assistant (1)

    Post Description:

    • The Food Security Assistant Being part of a team working at the community level, the Food Security Assistant will assist in conducting sensitization and vendors spot-check activities. S/he will assist in participating in the organization and monitoring of related activities aimed at improving access to food.
    • S/he will be supervising a team of Community Mobilizers (CMs) and answerable to the Project Officer.

    Specific duties and responsibilities:

    • Support CMs in the mobilization and sensitization of the community about the FSL sector activities. Mobilize and organize crop farming participants into farming groups for better outcome and easier formation dissemination from the Ministry seconded agriculture extension workers.
    • Assist in identification and validation of FSL participants and targeted artisans. 
    • Support to Sensitize and mobilize FSL participants to participate in input redemptions as per schedule developed and agreed upon by JDPC. And its partner.
    • Intentionally sensitize participants on E-voucher wallets, ensuring participants redeem their entitlements as intended by the project.
    • Ensure participants are receiving and continue to receive quality inputs (food commodities, seeds, and farming tools) from the respective venders. 
    • Act politely with community members and IDPs.
    • Conduct vendors’ shop monthly spot check to ensure the availability of recommended commodities/inputs and conduct follow-up check during commodities/inputs redemption. Ensure inputs/ commodities are stored in good conditions that do not  compromise quality. Set up the crowd control system and coordination of program participants during the monthly commodities/ inputs redemption, ensuring COVID 19 prevention protocol measures are practiced. Ensure that participants/communities complaints and feedbacks during sensitization and food commodities / inputs distribution are fully documented either at the community level or at the vendors shop and shared with CRS.
    • Ensure the redemption points are well set up, including display of posters demonstrating approved commodity / input prices, creating awareness on the participants about the project banners and posters which show participants entitlements and complaints/feedback alternative phones and email contacts for direct feedback provision to the program.
    • Monitor any protection and safeguarding concerns and elevate this to the attention of JDPC.
    • Perform any other duty as shall be requested by JDPC for the well-being of the FSL sectors as designed including but not limited to assessments organized by JDPC.
    • Documentation of lessons learned and success stories on the project.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

    • Minimum of diploma in Business Administration or related field
    • Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in the relevant filed.

    Senior Project Officer (1)

    Post Description:

    • Being part of a team working at the community level, the Senior Project Officer will supervise the activity of Food security officers, WaSH, Agric and Nutrition officers.
    • The Senior Project officer will participate in the organization and monitoring of related activities aimed at improving access to food.

    Responsibilities (Senior Project Officer):

    • Support the recruitment and training of community mobilizers.
    • Closely monitor and supervise project officers.
    • Monitor vendor-beneficiary’s transactions.
    • Participate in monthly review meeting with vendors.
    • Provide support to beneficiaries and vendors in the utilization of e- vouchers and Red rose technology.
    • Monitor the quality, quantity and prices of project’s vendors’ stock.
    • Ensure that project participants have value for money.
    • Organize monthly post redemption review meeting with the community mobilizers.
    • Carryout beneficiaries, vendors and key stakeholder’s sensitization.
    • Collect and log complaints and feedback from beneficiaries, non-beneficiaries, target communities and key stakeholders.
    • Report all issues identified in the field.
    • Participate in distribution of Red Rose cards amongst beneficiaries
    • Participate in beneficiaries’ registration process as per defined guidelines and instruction from the Program Manager.
    • Perform community mobilization as per defined key messages.

    • Support in project activities that will be assigned by supervisor.
