    Wartsila Manager

    PURPOSE ​

    Wartsila Manager will oversee the Electrical and Mechanical Installation, Operation and Maintenance of Wartsila engines, heat recovery boilers and associated infrastructure/auxiliaries in efficient ways to improve plant availability and sustain equipment reliabilities.

    THE JOB

    • Develops an effective Maintenance program for all Wartsila installation in power plant and  across the group to ensure their maximum performance.
    • Reviews the performance standard of Wartsila installations, heat recovery boilers, machines and facilities, analyses breakdown, repairs and takes steps / adopts measures for reducing the frequency of breakdowns.
    • Leads the general services maintenance programme and all unforeseen breakdown maintenance and repairs to the best engineering standards at minimum costs.
    • Reviews equipment performance records, labour and material usage, logbooks etc for optimization.
    • Set standard for spare parts, determine relevant stock levels and organize for their replenishment through overseas and local orders.

    THE PERSON MUST HAVE

    • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong hands-on experience with Wartsila engines and associated electrical and mechanical auxiliaries.
    • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance practices applicable to gas and diesel power generation plants.
    • Proven ability to develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programmes to improve plant availability and equipment reliability.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
    • Membership with NSE/COREN

    EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in power generation plants, with significant hands-on experience on Wartsila engines and associated auxiliaries.

    Assistant Accountant

    PURPOSE ​

    To support the finance function by maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with accounting processes, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

    THE JOB

    • Manage daily financial transactions, including recording, posting, and reconciling accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
    • Reconcile general ledger accounts; verify journal entries, and review accruals and prepayments for completeness.
    • Prepare and post necessary adjusting entries, including provisions, depreciation, and intercompany transactions.
    • Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
    • Support audits by providing schedules, reconciliations, and detailed explanations of variances.
    • Maintain proper documentation for Financial transactions.
    • Support the preparation of management reports, schedules, and variance/trend analysis.

    THE PERSON MUST 

    • Good understanding of basic accounting principles, general ledger management, and double-entry bookkeeping.
    • Ability to record, post, and reconcile daily financial transactions with high accuracy.
    • Working knowledge of month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.
    • Ability to prepare and review journal entries and supporting schedules.
    • Familiarity with accounting software/ERP systems (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar.

    QUALIFICATION

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
    • ICAN (ATS/Professional) or other relevant accounting certification is an added advantage.

    EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance-related roles.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel; experience with data analysis tools and Microsoft Dynamics 365 will be an added advantage.
