The Position

• The Director, Physical Planning must be a person of high integrity who demonstrates transparency in public and private life as well as command the respect and loyalty of staff of the University.
• He/she must also be receptive to new ideas and willing to translate them in to new projects in line with the phased physical development plans of the University.

Functions

• The Director, Physical Planning inter alia heads the Directorate, coordinates, supervises and maintains the physical development and project of the University in such a way as to ensure quality and standard.
• He shall not compromise the laid down rules and regulations in the execution of University projects.
• In discharging these duties, the Director is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor.

Qualifications

• Good honors Degree (not below second class lower) in any of the Engineering disciplines (Civil, Electrical and Mechanical) Architecture, Quantity Surveying or Building from a recognize University.
• Membership Registration of COREN, CORBON, QSRBN, or any other relevant regulatory bodies.
• Minimum of Fifteen (15) years cognate experience, at least two (2) of which shall be in a position of Deputy Director in a university or its equivalent in the Academic cadre.
• Should have a good knowledge in any Engineering and Environmental Designs, computer packages (Civil cad, Architecture cad. Prota structure, Pevit, Matlab etc)
• Postgraduate qualification in the relevant field is an advantage.

Important Points To Note:

• Appointment for the post of Director of Physical Planning is for a period of four (4) years single term.
• The candidate must not be more than sixty one (61) years at the time of assumption of duty.
• The candidate must have NYSC certificate or exemption certificate or certificate of exclusion where applicable.
• The candidate must be well grounded in public procurement process and project management.
• The term and conditions as provided by the Conditions of Service of Bauchi State University apply.

Terms and Condition of Service
Salary, allowances and conditions of service are as obtained in other universities and as may be determined from time by the Government / Governing Council of the University.

The Position

• The University Librarian is one of the Principal Officers of the University that is responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the overall administration and coordination of the University library, its branches in the faculties and departments as well as providing services for the entire University Community.

Qualifications
Applicants for the post of University Librarian should not be below the rank of Deputy University Librarian or a minimum of Senior Lecturer in Academic Librarian Cadre and should possess the following requirements:

• Ph.D. in Library Science / Library and Information Science with at least fifteen (15) years post qualification experience.
• Relevant scholarly publication in Journals and Textbooks equivalent to a least the requirement for promotion of Senior Lecturer.
• Proficiency in Information Communication Technology (ICT)
• Membership of Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria.
• Evidence of attendance of a Continuous Mandatory Professional Development.
• Candidates must have spent at least 3 years as Deputy University Librarian as Senior Lecturer in the Academic Library.
• Successful candidate should not be older than 65 years of age at the time of assumption of office and must be of good health and have a good understanding of vision and mission of the University.
• He/she shall have the ability to provide good leadership, possess personal integrity and demonstrate transparency in private and public life and be able to command respect and loyalty of staff.

Terms and Condition of Service

• The remuneration and other Conditions of Service are as contained in the University Conditions of Service and as may be determined by the University Governing Council.
• The successful candidate shall hold the post of the University Librarian for a term of five (5) years.
