    Manager.GL & Reconciliation

    Job Summary        

    • This position managesrelevant general ledger accounts and ensures they are properly stated at alltimes and that all assets and liabilities are properly disclosed in accordancewith Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and IFRS
    • This position willlead and manage the general accounting transactions, monthly close process andassist in financial statement preparation.
    • It provides guidanceon regular performance reporting for management.

    Principal Functions        

    Tactical 

    1. Provide leadership in guiding thegeneral ledger staff and other internal stakeholders on periodic internal andexternal audits and other statutory and regulatory requirements. 
    2. Establish and manage effectiverelationships with key internal and external stakeholders on accounting for thebusiness transactions. 
    3. Keep abreast of global and local bestpractice as it relates to the unit's activities. 
    4. Manage required resources (personneland others) to achieve the unit's goals. 
    5. Monitor financial procedures andcontrols in the light of identified risks and gaps. 
    6. Applies working knowledge andtechnical accounting principles and practices, financial close processes andcontrols and financial statement preparation to daily work 
    7. Demonstrate appreciable workingknowledge of IFRS, Nigerian GAAP and other relevant rules and regulationspertaining to the telecommunications industry. 
    8. Provide input into the unit's annual budget.

    Operational 

    1. Manage an enhanced financial transaction posting process to ensure that company's financial information isof agreed quality and integrity. 
    2. Manage interdepartmental collaborationwithin EMTS to ensure that all financial information is complete and correctlycaptured in the books of accounts. 
    3. Review reconciliation of Balance Sheetledger balances. 
    4. Review the business division's inputsinto the company's accrual/commitments. 
    5. Assist with accounting fornon-recurring transactions and review of qualification of costs in accordancewith company policy. 
    6. Provide research, guidance andtechnical memos to business function within the organisation. 
    7. Research and implement new accountingstandards. 
    8. Develop and maintain an effectiverelationship with the external auditors to support external financial reporting,audit and tax requirements. 
    9. Review and approve relevant generalledger system journal entries. 
    10. Review monthly reports of OPEX spend. 
    11. Understand and ensure compliance withIFRS, IAS and relevant GAAP. 
    12. Responsible for month-end, quarter-endand year-end close processes and provision of month-end schedules as requested. 
    13. Analyse general ledger accountbalances and provide variance analysis. 
    14. Assist Financial Planning Analysiswith Budgeting and Strategic Planning Process.
    15. Provide generalised financialinformation and assistance to employees and management. 
    16. Update and/or develop generalaccounting instructions/manual. 
    17. Assist with the implementation ofaccounting policies and procedures. 
    18. Provide periodic written reports andverbal updates on the status of routine activities and special projects. 
    19. Coordinate staff activities within theunit. 
    20. Provide support to Business managersand other staff members on financial issues. 
    21. Ensure adequate training anddevelopment of team members to upgrade their skills and knowledge. 
    22. Plan and coordinate all activitieswithin span of control, shifting personnel between job assignments as requiredto achieve group objectives. 
    23. Use individual initiative and personalproblems solving skills in resolving all but the most significant issues

    Educational Requirements        

    1. First degree in a relevant disciplinefrom a recognized university. 
    2. Professional qualification (CIMA, CFA,ACCA, ICAN, etc.) 
    3. Post Graduate degree - an addedadvantage 
    4. 6 to 8 years work experience, with atleast 3 years in a supervisory role

    Manager Data Analytics

    Job Summary        

    1. Lead the use of advanced data modeling, predictive modeling and analytical techniques to interpret key findings from company data and leverage these insights into initiatives that will support business outcomes 
    2. Ensure data accuracy and consistent reporting by designing and creating optimal processes and procedures for analytics.

    Principal Functions        

    1. Lead cross-functional projects usingadvanced data modeling and analysis techniques to discover insights that willguide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities. 
    2. Build, develop and maintain datamodels, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards and performancemetrics support that support key business decisions. 
    3. Design and build technical processes toaddress business issues. 
    4. Oversee the design and delivery ofreports and insights that analyze business functions and key operations andperformance metrics. 
    5. Recruit, train, develop and superviseanalyst-level employees. 
    6. Ensure accuracy of data anddeliverables of reporting employees with comprehensive policies and processes. 
    7. Manage and optimize processes for dataintake, validation, mining and engineering as well as modeling, visualizationand communication deliverables. 
    8. Examine, interpret and report resultsof analytical initiatives to stakeholders in leadership, technology, sales,marketing and product teams. 
    9. Oversee the data/report requestsprocess: tracking requests submitted, prioritization, approval, etc. 
    10. Develop and implement quality controlsand departmental standards to ensure quality standards, organizationalexpectations, and regulatory requirements. 
    11. Anticipate future demands ofinitiatives related to people, technology, budget and business within yourdepartment and design/implement solutions to meet these needs. 
    12. Organize and drive successfulcompletion of data insight initiatives through effective management of analystand data employees and effective collaboration with stakeholders. 
    13. Communicate results and businessimpacts of insight initiatives to stakeholders within and outside of thecompany. 
    14. Carryout other duties as instructed byHead of IT Architecture & Planning

    Educational Requirements        

    1. Degree level education with a solid all-round knowledge of IT and its use within a business environment with minimum of 5+ of experience in a position monitoring, managing, manipulating and drawing insights from data, and someone with at least 3 years of experience leading a team. The right candidate will also be proficient and experienced with the following tools/programs: 
    2. Strong programming skills with querying languages: SLQ, SAS, etc. 
    3. Experience with big data tools: Teradata, Aster, Hadoop, etc. 
    4. Experience with testing tools such as Adobe Test &Target 
    5. Experience with data visualization tools: Tableau, Raw, chart.js, etc. 
    6. Experience with Adobe Analytics and other analytics tools 
    7. C, C++, JAVA, or other programming languages

    Experience,Skills & Competencies        

    1. Experience with Excel, Word, andPowerPoint. 
    2. Working knowledge of data miningprinciples: predictive analytics, mapping, collecting data from multiple datasystems on premises and cloud-based data sources. 
    3. Strong SQL skills, ability to performeffective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries. 
    4. Understanding of and experience usinganalytical concepts and statistical techniques: hypothesis development,designing tests/experiments, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, anddeveloping actionable recommendations for business units. 
    5. Experience and knowledge of statisticalmodeling techniques: GLM multiple regression, logistic regression, log-linearregression, variable selection, etc. 
    6. Experience writing advanced SAS codestatements, models, and macros. 
    7. Experience working with and creatingdatabases and dashboards using all relevant data to inform decisions. 
    8. Experience using analytics techniquesto contribute to company growth efforts, increasing revenue and other keybusiness outcomes. 
    9. Strong problem solving, quantitativeand analytical abilities. 
    10. Strong ability to plan and managenumerous processes, people and projects simultaneously. 
    11. Excellent communication, collaborationand delegation skills
