    Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Communnity Health and HIV

    About the role
    The post holder will contribute to the progress of the Community Health and HIV programme towards its strategic goals and strengthen monitoring and evaluation systems to allow for quality reporting. S/he will promote effective and efficient monitoring and evaluation of programme activities, centred on impact and outcomes; create conditions so that learning is fed into programme decision-making.S/he will provide support to programmes and implementing partners and lead on monitoring, impact evaluation, knowledge management and donor reporting processes; share best practice and lessons learnt across the team and with external stakeholders as appropriate. S/he will develop and provide reference materials and quality information across the programme. S/he will contribute to building the Nigerian country office and partner capacity to develop and use participatory approaches to monitoring and evaluation

    About you
    The ideal candidate must possess a degree, preferably in statistics, or the social sciences. He/she must have at least three years I/NGO working experience.

    Essential criteria

    • Experience of knowledge management, monitoring and evaluation and project/programme-cycle management approaches and tools – including participatory planning.
    • Understanding of reporting requirements of institutional donors such as EU, DFID and USAID.
    • Hands-on experience supporting community based development programmes.
    • Excellent report writing, communication (written and verbal) skills, and strong IT skills.
    • Experience of building the M&E skills and capacity of others.
    • Significant experience of working with small, indigenous partners.
    • Experience of facilitation, training and network and partner capacity building

    Desirable criteria

    • Ability to incorporate Gender and HIV methodologies into partners’ work
    • Understanding of partnership approach to international development
    • Understanding and familiarity with database management.
    • Familiarity and understanding of SPSS.
    • Manage and organise information systems and establish and maintain filing systems.
    • Ability to produce quality reports from analysis conducted on data sets.
    • Ability to produce quality reports, case studies and health advocacy briefs from analysis conducted on data sets and gathered qualitative information.

    Programme Officer (Malaria) Community Health and HIV

    About the role
    The post holder will be responsible for supporting and managing Christian Aid partnerships and programmes as well as the effective disbursement of funds to Christian Aid partners. He/she will represent Christian Aid, contribute to the development of Christian Aid policy and strategy, as well as engage with and promote communications and fundraising, including institutional donors. He/she will provide technical support to partners to develop organisational plans; providing support in designing effective malaria programmes.  The role requires a self-motivated, dynamic and innovative person, with extensive knowledge of Community Health issues in Nigeria, teamwork and coordination skills and experience in managing partnerships with local organisations. 

    About you
    The ideal candidate must possess a degree in international development/public health-related subject.  He/she must have at least five years’ working experience in Community Health with significant experience in implementing and/or managing community-based malaria interventions.

    Essential criteria

    • Extensive knowledge of the national response to Malaria in Nigeria
    • At least five years’ experience in Malaria intervention programmes in Nigeria (Extensive experience in community based Malaria response will be an added advantage)
    • Significant experience in working with local partner organisations
    • Knowledge and competency in gender-sensitive programming
    • Experience of managing institutional donor-funded projects
    • Excellent report writing skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively represent Christian Aid at national, state and local levels
    • High level of computer literacy
    • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

    Desirable criteria

    • Skills and experience in national, state and local advocacy and lobbying processes
    • In-depth understanding and familiarity with DFID, EU and/or USAID funding and reporting requirements
    • Familiarity with working with faith based institutions in Nigeria
    • Post graduate degree in MPH or related field will be an added advantage

    State Programme Coordinator (Malaria) Commuity Health and HIV

    About the role

    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively represent Christian Aid at the national, state and local levels.
    • In-depth understanding and familiarity with Global Fund, DFID,EU, and/or USAID funding and reporting requirements
    • High level of computer literacy and excellent report writing and communication skills

    Desirable criteria

    • Experience in quantification, forecasting, preparation of distribution plans and inventory management.\
    • Skills and experience in  National, State and local advocacy and lobbying processes
    • Familiarity in working with faith based institutions in Nigeria
    • Knowledge and competency in gender-sensitive programming.
