    State Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator (Malaria) Community Health and HIV

    About the role
    The post holder will contribute to the progress of the Community Health and HIV programme towards its strategic goals and strengthen monitoring and evaluation systems to allow for quality reporting.  H/she will provide support to programmes and implementing partners on monitoring, impact evaluation, knowledge management and donor reporting processes; share best practice and lessons learnt across the team.  H/She will support developing and providing reference materials and quality information across the programme. H/She will encourage active knowledge management and organizational learning needs using Monitoring and Evaluation findings. H/She will support effective and efficient monitoring and evaluation of programme activities, centred on impact and outcomes; create conditions so that learning feeds into programme decision-making.

    About you
    The ideal candidate must possess a degree, preferably in statistics, community health or the social sciences. He/she must have at least five years I/NGO working experience and knowledge of monitoring and evaluation, project/programme cycle management approaches and tools- including participatory planning.

    Essential criteria

    • Understanding of reporting requirements of institutional donors such as Global Fund, EU, DFID and USAID.
    • Understanding and familiarity with database management tools such as DHIS, NHMIS is essential and statistical software such as SPSS, Epi-info; STATA)
    • Hands-on experience supporting community based development programmes.
    • Excellent report writing, communication (written and verbal) skills, and strong IT skills.
    • Experience and skills in facilitation, training, networking and capacity building
    • Significant experience of working with small, indigenous partners.

    Desirable criteria

    • Ability to incorporate Gender and HIV methodologies into partners’ work
    • Understanding of partnership approach to international development
    • Manage and organize information systems and establish and maintain filing systems
    • Ability to produce quality reports, case studies and health advocacy briefs from analysis conducted on data sets and gathered qualitative information.
