    Performance Engineer

    Description

    • Ensure full alignment with Company Rules regarding Performance in Drilling & Wells activities.
    • Lead internal & external performance reviews.
    • Champion Continuous Improvement in Drilling & Wells operations within the affiliate.
    • Guarantee the accomplishment of Well operations in compliance with codes of practice, safety and environmental protection, while optimizing costs and lead times.
    • Contribute to the return on Exploration & Production investments, through a continuous process to improve the equipment/ resource usage, services and operational procedures.

    Co-ordination

    • Is a key player in the Drilling Wells Improvement process (DWIP) and “Solutions for Performance” targeted at Drilling & Wells Operations.
    • Contributes to the LEAN, Cost rationalization and continuous improvement culture within Methods and Performance Team.
    • Ensure lessons learnt and best practices are captured and communicated within the Drilling & Wells Métier and to external stakeholders.
    • Follows well KPI and CPI database, and benchmarks operations against "best composite" performance to ensure there is sufficient value extracted from operations.
    • Actively Participates in monthly performance meetings
    • Follows up and assists in closing out any highlighted improvement actions.

    Organization

    • Participate in risk assessment related to Well operations. Identify and implement measures to ensure successful well delivery.
    • Participate in operation debriefing with the rig and contractors to capture lessons learnt, areas of improvement and disseminate experience across the team.
    • Participate in HSE audits, site committee meeting and incident investigations at the bases and on the rig. Promote HSE initiatives.

    Technical

    • Has good knowledge of all Drilling & Wells functions i.e. Drilling, Completions, Intervention, Well Integrity and Fluids.
    • Has good knowledge of Company referential, industry standards and best practices required to achieve well objectives in a safe and optimum manner
    • Proposes new ideas and innovations to improve well performance, well operations performance, reduce risk and/or cost. Conduct studies to establish benchmarks and improve performance

    Participating in the Company’s sharing of professional experience through REX

    • Track and Ensure follow-up of Operations & Cost Performance Indices (KPI’s , CPIs etc) for all assets within Drilling & Wells (Well Operations/ Interventions/ Support Services)
    • Provide support for Engineering compliant with technical referential, at adequate quality to enhance Safety, Performance and Well Delivery
    • Ensure that studies to improve performance are conducted and results implemented.
    • Assist with the optimization of activities of service providers and assess their performance when required
    • Assist with the planning and mobilization of resources (personnel, equipment, contracts) for the execution of approved well operations in a timely and safe manner.
    • Maintain good interface with other entities internal and external for the optimization of well operations
    • Assist with the preparation and conduct invitations to tender for service and equipment contracts for Drilling & Wells teams when required.
    • Demonstrates personal commitment to Company and statutory HSE policies, standards and codes of conduct and drives / ensures compliance of same within the team and contractors
    • Actively participates and ensures team participation in Company safety awareness/initiative schemes and audits to ensure the contractors are compliant.

    Job Requirement

    • A degree in the sciences or Engineering
    • Minimum of 3-5 years relevant technical experience with Well engineering roles
    • Good knowledge of Data Analysis Tools & Methods, Communication (oral & written) and Presentation skills.
    • Good knowledge drilling engineering/ operations, completion engineering, well interventions and well integrity.
    • Good knowledge of material and equipment, QA/QC and Inspection procedure, stock management
    • Good knowledge of the Company rules, Guides and Manuals, General Specifications and the CMS related to Drilling and Wells, Safety, QA/QC and associated métiers
    • Good knowledge of Contracts and Procurement, Finance and Cost control

    Good knowledge of Relevant Regulatory Authorities and Agencies in the Oil and Gas space in Nigeria and Internationally.

    Planning Engineer

    This service is created to contribute to the affiliates’ production and financial objectives by:

    • Managing and performing detailed planning using Planning & Digital tools (Primavera©, MS project©, Microsoft office Suite© etc) for Drilling & Wells operations.
    • Consolidate the planning data from other métiers and teams (internal and external) to the Drilling and Wells team with a view to optimizing available resources to achieve well operations objectives.
    • Supporting the team in preparation of operational and financial analysis, management reports for budgeting & forecasting, developing strategies and monitoring performance.
    • Supporting the Engineering team to deliver projects on schedule

    Highlight critical activities and other constraints to Drilling & Wells team (Internal & external) and Management.

    • Analyze technical documents and other documentation to develop a project Schedule adapted to optimising Drilling & Well operations.
    • key player in developing, maintaining, and managing the planning schedules from conceptual to completion for Drilling & Well operations.
    • Prepares and reviews KPIs and Performance Indices for Drilling & Well Activities, Inspection, QAQC and Material Management (Handling, Storage Optimization).
    • Assist the operations teams and to prepare in close collaboration with other entities (GSR, C&P, ECP, Planning, Project team, Finance etc.) medium to long term drilling plans to achieve safe and cost-effective operations.
    • Coordinate with the Engineering / Operations/Project team(s) to ensure that work schedules are followed up, met and capture feedback to improve the planning and scheduling process
    • Liaise with Superintendent & various sites on resources (accommodation, transportation etc) needs/availability, for issuing out the periodic look ahead validation plan (5 Week Lookahead, 4 months Look ahead etc)
    • Assist in supervising schedule development, monitoring, progress status and reporting
    • Supports the Manager, Methods and Performance in ensuring the optimal support to Drilling & Well Operations (Rig-based, SEWOP, Barge and Rigless operations).
    • Contribute to lessons learnt in relation to schedule preparation.

    Co-ordination

    • Spearheads the preparation, planning, optimization, and follow-up of Plans and Schedules for Drilling and Wells operations
    • Works with other engineers and supervisors, shares experience and best practices, initiates and reviews documents and provides constructive feedback.
    • Is a key player in the Digital transformation roadmap for the Drilling and Wells métier in the affiliate.
    • Contributes to the LEAN, Cost rationalization and continuous improvement culture within Methods and Performance Team.

    Organization

    • Liaises with Drilling & Wells teams, GSR, Well Performance, Techlog, relevant entities and Contractors to ensure various plans and resources are captured and integrated into the Drilling & Wells Planning / Schedules to ensure that tasks are delivered on time and as planned
    • Ability to work on his/her own initiative with minimum supervision, working to meet deadlines , high degree of organizational ability and an effective communicator with contacts at all levels.

    Technical

    HSE Advisor/Specialist

    • To support the implementation of an effective level 1 and 2 HSE Management System & risk controls and provide HSE
    • Support to Capital Project Activities or any other assigned Project Risk Areas in the implementation of Integrated Safe
    • Systems of Work (ISSoW) at the tactical and Coal face level to ensure safe construction and no harm to people.

    Main Accountabilities

    • Proactively conducted HSE surveillance, engage to intervene in unsafe act/conditions discovered and report to ensure positive behavioral changes.
    • Supports the implementation of integration of safe system of work (JHA, TBT, LOTO, CSE, Unsafe Acts Auditing-HSEW,
    • PSFO etc.) in activities sites (field) to entrench best practice HSE culture, save lives and prevent major accidents.
    • Support the implementation of HSE tools and techniques at the activities areas and consistently manage personnel safety risks to as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP), preventing harm to personnel.
    • Support the implementation of behavioural safety tools (TBT, Dynamic Risk assessment, pause for safety etc.) to improve overall safety culture among all contractors on frontline activities within respective areas.
    • Provide required HSE oversight during the execution phase of all activities in the work areas.
    • Support the implementation of hazards identification awareness campaigns and strategy to entrenchment of acceptable HSE culture among the personnel working within the facility.
    • Carry out any other duty as assigned by management.

    Key Performance Indicators

    • Number of Preventative Report raised and follow-up to completion in assigned work area.
    • % reduction in assigned work area TRCF.
    • Hours worked in assigned work area without recordable case.
    • Number of assigned work areas HSE incidents related non-compliances.
    • Number of HSE incident investigation triggered and supported (evidence preservation etc.), and number of preliminary investigations reports submitted within acceptable timeframe.

    Job Requirement

    Experience / Education:

    • Minimum of First Degree or Higher National Diploma in Engineering, Sciences, Social Sciences and Arts. Professional qualification in Safety will be an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 3 years HSSE experience
    • Familiarity with HSE Management System or other best HSE best practices. Experience in Construction Safety
    • Relevant training that would enhance the ability to fulfill the job requirement
    • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation and outside parties

    A working knowledge of:

    • Construction Site Safety Standards.
    • Knowledge of IoGP 577 and 9 Life Saving Rules.
    • Phycological Safety and Behavioural Safety.
