Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure the health and welfare of broiler chickens.
• Diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases and injuries.
• Implement and manage vaccination schedules.
• Train farm staff on biosecurity measures and proper handling of birds.
• Ensure compliance with local veterinary and animal welfare regulations.
• Proven track record in diagnosing and treating poultry diseases
• Experience with vaccination programs and biosecurity implementation.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Valid license to practice veterinary medicine in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Additional specialization or certification in poultry health management (preferred but not mandatory).
• Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in poultry health management or a similar role.

Key Skills and Knowledge:

• In-depth knowledge of poultry anatomy, physiology, and common diseases.
• Familiarity with biosecurity protocols and disease prevention strategies.
• Ability to conduct necropsies and lab tests to identify health issues.
• Knowledge of poultry nutrition and its impact on health.
• Proficiency in maintaining detailed medical records and preparing health reports.

Other Requirements:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with farm staff and management.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Willingness to travel between farms if necessary.
