About the role

As the Director of Payment Operations at Sporty, you’ll be responsible for owning the payment operations strategies whilst providing leadership and expertise in the field of payments for our products used by millions of daily global users. You'll collaborate with talented stakeholders across our remote-working organisation to work on improvements, optimisation initiatives, and integrations to ensure the best payment experience for our customers.

What you'll be doing

• Define, own, and manage core payment operations, core metrics including our KPIs in the area of payment acceptance rates, payment performance, conversion, compliance, cost, and more
• Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive fraud prevention and risk management strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard the organisation's assets and minimise financial losses
• Continuously analysing market trends across the payment space in order to increase the quality and efficiency of our customers experience
• Monitor business and process metrics in order to identify solutions and deliver improvements related to core metrics and KPIs
• Oversee the investigations of suspected fraudulent activities, ensuring timely and thorough analysis of data, documentation, and evidence
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product and engineering to solve local challenges and deliver enhanced CX
• Recruit, manage, lead, and motivate a team of professionals, ensuring the team builds and maintains a deep understanding of our technology and customers
• Assess and manage changing payment landscapes and evolving industry trends whilst remaining current on all changes to regulations and systems
• Ensuring the payments team are remaining current on industry trends
• Establish and revise policy, enforcing and implementing compliance directives, reviewing system enhancements, and assessing operational needs
• Ensure end user issues are resolved in a timely manner
• Manage, recruit and train a team of payment specialists across different geographies
• Act as a primary POC with network partners to resolve ongoing production issues

What you'll bring

• Fluency in both written and spoken English
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or a related field
• Advance knowledge of global payment systems, region specific rules and regulations
• Payment operations experience across tech / fintech / gaming industry is an advantage
• Proven experience in fraud, risk, KYC, investigation, and risk management
• Expert experience managing, leading and building a wider team
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to use data and metrics to drive improvements in payment operations
• Experienced owning and and solving complex payment issues
• Understanding of Compliance and Risk Awareness

As a Data Analyst at Sporty, you’ll be mining through petabytes of data to provide key insights that drive core business decisions. You’ll create dashboards that are used on a daily basis by product managers, traders, and executives, as well as provide in-depth reports on various areas of the business with complete freedom on your methodology.

Furthermore, our analysts play a key role in ensuring the stability of our reporting infrastructure. They are vital in maintaining our ability to deliver accurate and consistent reporting to the various stakeholders.

What you'll be doing

• Analysing large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that support business decision-making.

• Partnering with product, marketing, and business teams to translate business questions into structured data analysis.
• Delivering clear, concise, and data-driven insights to stakeholders and shareholders through presentations and reports.

n this role you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of every release that goes out. Sporty isn’t like other organisations that just see QA as a blocker - we give our QA team members the power you need to do your job, including deciding what is ready for launch and what needs more work. You will be acting as a Hybrid QA Engineer with the skills you bring in on both Manual testing and automation processes. You will be involved at every step of the development process, from requirements capture and estimation, all the way through to final testing and launching. You must be based in the EU timezone to ensure collaboration with the rest of the team daily.

What you'll bring

• 3+ years of testing experience
• Solid understanding of testing types: unit, integration, end-to-end, regression, stress/performance, and API testing
• Experience with Web / Android / iOS and API manual testing
• Experience with web debugging and API testing tools (Chrome DevTools, Postman)
• Working knowledge of relational databases preferably MySQL 
• Strong experience with Python
• Experience with Automation testing knowledge with REST APIs
• Experience in test automation for mobile apps (Android and iOS)
• Experience in Automation testing for web apps (Selenium/ Playwright)
• Docker and Kubernetes experience would be advantageous

In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing microservices in a distributed deployment environment with an emphasis on containerisation with Docker and K8S. You won’t just be writing simple CRUD applications, but instead will be working on the core logic of complex systems that are accessed millions of times a day. We wrote our system from scratch about 3 years ago, so you’ll be working with the latest technology and won’t have to worry about decades old legacy code.A willingness to work in Springboot is fine - as long as you are willing to learn and have demonstrable experience in an object-oriented programming language.
