    Assistant Technical Supervisor

    Job Overview

    • We are seeking an experienced Assistant Technical Supervisor to join our dynamic team at a leading steel drum company.
    • The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical engineering background, proved production management experience, and excellent leadership skills to ensure operational excellence.
    • This role is designed for candidates aged 30-38, preferably male, who are eager to take on challenging responsibilities in a high-performance environment.

    Key Responsibilities
    Production Management:

    • Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet production targets and quality standards.
    • Ensure the smooth functioning of machinery and equipment to minimize downtime.
    • Monitor and optimize production processes for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality improvement.
    • Collaborate with the maintenance and Quality control teams to address any production issues promptly.

    Leadership and Team Management:

    • Lead and mentor a team of production staff to ensure high levels of performance and engagement.
    • Implement training and development programs to enhance the technical and operational skills of team members.
    • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
    • Ensure smooth communication between team members and other departments

    Compliance and Reporting:

    • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
    • Maintain accurate production records and prepare regular reports for senior management.
    • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).

    Strategic Planning and Execution:

    • Assist the Production Manager in developing and implementing production strategies aligned with business objectives.
    • Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
    • Recommend and implement innovative solutions to enhance production efficiency.

    Key Result Areas (KRAs)

    • Achievement of production targets within specified timelines and budgets.
    • Consistent product quality in compliance with industry standards.
    • Effective leadership, resulting in high team morale and low attrition rates.
    • Reduction in machine downtime and operational costs.
    • Adherence to safety protocols and zero-incident operations.

    Qualifications and Skills
    Educational Background:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

    Professional Experience:

    • Minimum of 8 years of experience in production management, preferably in the steel or heavy manufacturing industry.

    Technical Skills:

    • In-depth knowledge of drum manufacturing processes, equipment, and technologies.
    • Proficiency in production planning and scheduling software.
    • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles (certification preferred).

    Leadership and Management Skills:

    • Exceptional Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage a diverse workforce.
    • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.

    Welding Technician

    Role Overview

    • The Welder Technician is responsible for performing high-quality welding, fabrication, and maintenance of mechanical components to ensure the smooth operation of production equipment.
    • This role requires precision, technical expertise, and adherence to safety and maintenance standards to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Maintenance Welding & Fabrication
    • Perform welding and fabrication of machine components as required.
    • Repair broken or damaged mechanical parts to restore functionality.

    Preventive Maintenance:

    • Conduct daily inspections of all line conveyors while in operation to assess chain tension and necessary adjustments.
    • Utilize a filler gauge to check the roller settings of the seamer machine before initiating production.
    • Ensure thorough cleaning and proper greasing of all mechanical equipment to prevent wear and tear.

    Corrective Maintenance:

    • Be readily available to respond to emergency breakdowns and provide immediate corrective action.
    • Work proactively to minimize production downtime by troubleshooting and resolving mechanical failures efficiently.

    Housekeeping & Equipment Care:

    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace before, during, and after work.
    • Ensure all tools and machines are properly cleaned and stored after use.

    Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Compliance:

    • Adhere to 100% compliance with all HSE regulations and company safety policies.
    • Properly use and maintain all issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to ensure workplace safety.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Minimum OND in Mechanical Engineering / Welding Technology or equivalent certification.
    • At least 3 years of industrial work experience in a similar role.
    • Strong knowledge of welding techniques, fabrication processes, and mechanical maintenance.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical components efficiently.
