Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver lessons in food and nutrition, home management, and related subjects, following the curriculum guidelines.
• Use a variety of teaching methods, including practical demonstrations, group work, and multimedia resources to enhance student learning.
• Teach food science, nutrition, health education, meal planning, food safety, and hygiene.
• Develop and assess student understanding through assignments, tests, projects, and practical work.
• Maintain records of students’ progress and provide feedback to students and parents.

Practical Sessions:

• Supervise students during practical food preparation and cooking lessons.
• Ensure safety standards and proper food hygiene practices are adhered to in practical sessions.
• Oversee students in the use of kitchen appliances, cooking tools, and laboratory equipment.

Classroom Management:

• Establish and enforce clear expectations for student behavior, creating a positive and productive learning environment.
• Support and encourage students’ academic, social, and emotional development.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.

Assessment & Reporting:

• Design and implement assessments to evaluate students' progress in both theoretical and practical skills.
• Provide regular feedback to students on their performance.
• Write detailed reports on students’ progress and areas for improvement.
• Participate in parent-teacher conferences to discuss students' achievements and challenges.

Professional Development & Collaboration:

• Stay updated with the latest developments in food and nutrition education, teaching methods, and curriculum changes.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with 4 - 5 years experience.

Job Description

• Build and Keep proper records of the following documents, Bank statements, cash book, requisitions slips, receipts, Supplies/vendor records, other payments, debtors
• Post in Journals daily- Educare System
• File physical copies of receipts and all invoice copies
• Monitor cash disbursements for expenses with a daily cap and weekly cap - send a cash report daily .
• Posting of income from approved source document daily and print out income report with analysis weekly
• Ensure documented evidence for every transaction (requisition expenses -(except some food items)
• Ensure posting of journals are completed at the end of the day of transaction and printed and filed monthly.
• Tracking of debtor clients and planning for sending notice at adequate time before deadline
• Checking bank balances and daily statements and records to match entry- done daily
• Monitor Budget spending on items and report weekly
• Prepare Payroll and update deductions 48 hours to salary payment
• Pensions schedule prepared with salary and payment made on the 28th of every month.
• VAT schedule prepared and payment made on the 8th every month after vetting on or before 5th
• Tax schedule is prepared and vetted before payment made on the 28th of every month.
• Monitor and recommend systems and procedures to ensure the security of all facilities.
• Monthly analysis of recurring cost
• School Fees Invoice prepared against next term on the 10th week of every term
• School Fees should be automated by posting and sending soft copy to parent from quick book application.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess B.Sc Degrees with 2 - 3 years relevant work experience.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess a B. Ed / B.Sc with PGDE in Chemistry
• Minimum of 2 years post-NYSC experience
• Senior Tutors (5 years and above)
• Experience in an International School.
• Knowledge of and experience with British–Nigerian curricula
• Teaching/ learning materials development experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Must be WAEC and or NECO examiner
• Good computer knowledge with experience in digital learning will be an added advantage.
