    Field worker

    DUTIES:

    •  Collect and collate data on feed and forage for small and large ruminants.
    • Analyze Livestock feeds and effect on performance.
    • Collect data at Akinyele folder market for forage yield.
    • Assist in managing ILRI research and demonstration fields.
    • Provide support during training on livestock feed and production.
    • Assist in sample preparation and in the operation of the NIRS machine for samples (feed and forage) analysis.
    • Assist in the implementation of routine activities on the ILRI research farm.
    • Perform any other job-related task as may be assigned by the Supervisors.

    QUALIFICATION:

    • O’level with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience performing similar role in a wellstructured environment.

    COMPETENCIES:
    The ideal candidate must:

    •  Have good communication skills (writing, reading, and speaking).
    • Ability to use basic Microsoft software (word, excel, PowerPoint).
    • Have good knowledge of animal health and production.
    • Have good knowledge of feed and forage in animal nutrition.
    • Have the ability to work with little or no supervision.

    Agribusiness Development Assistant

    DUTIES:

    •  Provide technical support in designing crop and livestock chain value development.
    • Provide capacity-building support in the area of agribusiness plan development and establishment of agribusiness enterprises.
    • Participate in the establishment, supervision, and management of all research and demonstration fields.
    • Participate in the establishment, supervision, and management of field operations, cross-cutting various unit projects.
    • Provide capacity-building support during training on crop production.
    • Ensure timely capturing of relevant agronomic data, good curation of collected data, and timely delivery to supervisor.
    • Provide administrative support in the area of agribusiness engagements and innovations, research, and project implementation.
    • Provide support in the development of annual work plans, budget, and report writing.
    • Perform any other job-related task as may be assigned by the supervisor.

    QUALIFICATION:

    • BSc/HND Plant Science, Forestry, Agricultural Science or any other related fieldwith a minimum of two (2) years’ experience performing a similar or related role in a well-structured organization.

    COMPETENCIES:
    The ideal candidate must:

    • Have basic knowledge of agronomic data collection.
    • Have data capturing and report writing skills.
    • Have good communication skills (writing, reading, and speaking).
    • Have ability to work with little or no supervision.
    • Be able to perform multiple tasks and work under pressure.
