    Management Information Systems (MIS) Specialist

    About the role

    GAIN is seeking to recruit a Management Information Systems (MIS) Specialist to design, administer, optimize, and ensure continuous improvement of the programme Management Information System (MIS) used across the GAIN Nigeria project portfolio. The role will manage data flows from digital data collection platforms into the MIS, ensure system reliability, and support the automation of real time analytics and reporting dashboards. The MIS Specialist will ensure that programme data is well structured, accurate, secure, and readily accessible for decision making, donor reporting, and performance tracking.

    This role will be offered on a two (2) year fixed term contract, subject to availability of funding and will be based in Abuja, Nigeria. This advert closes on 20th March 2026.     Key Responsibilities include.

    • Design, configure, and maintain the centralized MIS for GAIN Nigeria project portfolio, ensuring system stability, security, and ease of use.
    • Manage data pipelines that integrate digital data collection platforms (SurveyCTO, CommCare, Kobo, ODK, etc.) with the MIS.
    • Ensure the MIS supports real-time data synchronization, disaggregation, and automated analytics required for programme decision making.
    • Ensure system backups, data security protocols, user access rights, and version control.
    • Monitor synchronization processes and troubleshoot issues related to API connections, form updates, and data mapping.
    • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent) that provide real-time performance analytics and automated donor reporting outputs.
    • Ensure dashboards reflect required disaggregation categories and support programme decision making and donor reporting.
    • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for MIS users across programme teams and implementing partners.

    About you

    The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Management Information Systems (MIS) development, administration, and data systems management within development programmes or technology-driven environments. They will demonstrate practical expertise in the design and implementation of digital data collection systems using platforms such as SurveyCTO, CommCare, ODK, Kobo, or similar tools. The candidate should also have proven experience in developing automated dashboards and data visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or other comparable platforms, enabling programme teams to access clear, timely, and actionable insights.

    In addition, the candidate will possess solid technical skills in data integration and management, including experience working with API integrations, ETL processes, SQL databases, and automated data pipelines. They should be comfortable supporting programme teams with their data management and reporting requirements, ensuring that systems are reliable, user-friendly, and aligned with programme needs. Experience in data security practices, user access and permission management, and maintaining clear documentation of MIS processes is essential to ensure system integrity, accountability, and long-term sustainability.

    About our offer

    The starting gross salary on offer for this role is from NGN 19,666,488 gross per annum, depending on experience.

    Programme Monitoring and Improvement (PMI) Coordinator

    GAIN is seeking to recruit a Programme Monitoring and Improvement (PMI) Coordinator to support the design and implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) frameworks. The position holder will coordinate the generation of credible evidence on programme performance and facilitate the synthesis of knowledge required to inform decisions, strengthen programme learning, improve programme design and effectiveness, and meet donor reporting requirements.

    This role will be offered on a two (2) year fixed term contract, subject to availability of funding and will be based in Abuja, Nigeria. This advert closes on 20th March 2026.     Key Responsibilities include.

    • Develop, review, and implement programme theories of change, logic models, results frameworks, and MEAL plans.
    • Facilitate consistent collection, cleaning, analysis, interpretation, and visualization of monitoring data to generate actionable insights for the programme team.
    • Ensure that field data collection processes are ethical and aligned with recognized research methodologies.
    • Conduct data quality audits and validation checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability of programme monitoring data across implementation sites.
    • Contribute to the implementation of the country Learning Agenda by capturing programme lessons, synthesizing learning outputs, and informing programme and strategy adaptations.
    • Support the integration of knowledge products and monitoring insights into programme planning, implementation, and review processes to improve the quality of programme decisions.
    • In collaboration with the PMI Manager and KL team, support the coordination of research activities implemented by external research partners, ensuring alignment with research protocols, delivery of agreed milestones, and timely submission of high-quality outputs.

    About you

    The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of project management and the ability to effectively plan, coordinate, and deliver monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities within development programmes. They should possess practical experience in designing and implementing Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) systems that support evidence-based decision-making and programme improvement. A solid understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies is essential, enabling the candidate to design appropriate data collection approaches and ensure the generation of reliable and meaningful insights.

    In addition, the candidate should have strong analytical capabilities and proficiency in statistical analysis tools such as SPSS, Stata, R, or Python. Experience using data visualization platforms such as Power BI or Tableau to communicate complex findings in clear and accessible formats is highly desirable. The candidate should also demonstrate experience conducting research using both qualitative and quantitative methods, including data analysis, interpretation, and reporting, to support learning, accountability, and programme effectiveness.
