    Health, Safety & Environmental Systems Officer

    Purpose

    • To support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of HSE systems across business verticals.
    • The role focuses on data accuracy, system usage, compliance tracking, training coordination, and assisting in digital HSE initiatives under the guidance of the HSE Systems Manager.

    The Job

    • Assist in deploying and maintaining HSE digital tools (dashboards, incident tracking, automated reporting).
    • Support integration of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and other standards into operational processes.
    • Conduct routine data validation, system audits, and compliance checks.
    • Generate HSE performance reports and analytics for review by senior HSE leadership.
    • Participate in HSE audits, inspections, and investigations.
    • Coordinate and support HSE training programs, including scheduling, logistics, attendance tracking, and feedback collection.
    • Maintain training records and assist in evaluating training effectiveness.
    • Liaise with BU HSE Leads and site teams to ensure consistent system usage and reporting.
    • Support emergency preparedness documentation and risk assessment activities.

    Requirements

    • Qualification: B.Sc./HND in Environmental Science or  Engineering.
    • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in similar role.

    • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Have demonstrated analytical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Have strong knowledge of HSE regulations and standards and stakeholders’ management abilities.
    • Be able to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

    Operations Risk Safety Officer

    Purpose

    • The Operations Risk Safety Officer is responsible for supporting the implementation and monitoring of FMN’s Operational Risk Management (ORM) Framework across plants and business units.
    • The role ensures compliance with safety standards, conducts risk and loss prevention assessments, and supports the execution of corrective and preventive actions aimed at minimizing operational risk exposure and promoting a safe working environment.

    The Job

    • Support the implementation and monitoring of the Operational Risk Management and Loss Prevention programs across business units.
    • Conduct periodic site inspections, operational audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
    • Track, verify, and follow up on the timely closure of corrective and preventive actions arising from audits and incident investigations.
    • Assist in the preparation, review, and implementation of Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) for each plant or operational location.
    • Participate in reviews of engineering designs, plant layouts, and equipment to ensure compliance with safety and operability requirements.
    • Support the review of project safety management plans, method statements, and construction risk assessments.
    • Promote and drive operational safety awareness and compliance culture among employees and contractors.
    • Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) reviews to proactively manage and mitigate operational risks.

    Requirements

    • Qualification: B.Sc. / HND in Environmental Science or Engineering.
    • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of cognate experience.

    The Person Must:

    • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify potential risks and hazards.
    • Problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
    • Have Excellent risk assessment and hazard identification skills.
