    Technical Sales Agronomist

    Position Overview

    • We are searching for a Technical Sales Agronomist who is passionate about agriculture and eager to bridge the gap between our products and their impact on the field.
    • This role combines agronomic expertise with salesmanship to educate and support Seed Companies and farmer, ensuring they maximize the benefits of our high-quality inputs.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Sales and Promotion: Drive sales by presenting ECOBasic Seed company's products to potential customers, demonstrating their value and benefits.
    • Technical Support: Provide expert advice on the application of seeds, fertilizers, and crop production solutions to optimize yields.
    • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, distributors, and other stakeholders.
    • Field Visits: Conduct on-site visits to understand customer needs, monitor product performance, and address issues effectively.
    • Market Analysis: Stay updated on market trends, competitors, and emerging agricultural technologies to inform sales strategies.
    • Training and Education: Organize workshops, field demonstrations, and training sessions for farmers and agricultural enthusiasts.

    Qualifications

    • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Crop Science, or related field.
    • Experience: Proven track record in agricultural sales or agronomic advisory services is preferred. (5 years and above)
    • Agronomic Knowledge: Strong understanding of crop production practices, fertilizers, and seeds.
    • Sales Skills: Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Technical Proficiency: Ability to analyze soil and crop health, and recommend suitable inputs.
    • Adaptability: Comfortable working in rural areas and interacting with diverse groups of stakeholders.
    • Driving License: Possession of a valid driver's license is an added advantage.

    Finance & Admin Officer

    Job Summary

    • The FAO is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the office, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the overall growth and sustainability of our agricultural ventures. 
    • This role requires a strong understanding of financial principles, excellent administrative skills, and an appreciation for the unique challenges and opportunities within the agricultural sector.

    Responsibilities
    Financial Management Responsibilities will include:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
    • Process invoices, payments, and receipts in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Provide support in preparing and documentation of regular financial reports (e.g., income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements) to management.
    • Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts.
    • Assist in the financial analysis of crop production costs and profitability.
    • Track and analyze financial performance against budget, identifying variances and providing explanations.
    • Manage petty cash and ensure proper documentation.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and accounting standards.
    • Provide support in liaising with external auditors and tax consultants as required.
    • Ensure statutory deductions (WHT, PAYE, ITF & NSITF) are remitted within the stipulated timelines.
    • Oversee a monthly inventory record and conduct periodic stock checks.
    • Assist in the preparation of financial information for grant proposals.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
    • Administrative Responsibilities include:
    • Oversee the day-to-day administrative operations of the office.
    • Manage office supplies and ensure adequate stock levels.
    • Maintain organized filing systems (both physical and electronic).
    • Provide support in organizing and coordinating meetings and travel arrangements.
    • Assist with the organization of company events and workshops.
    • Maintain and update employee records and HR-related documentation.
    • Ensure the maintenance and functionality of office equipment.
    • Manage relationships with vendors and service providers.
    • Support the implementation of company policies and procedures.
    • Ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

    Qualifications and experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Proven experience (4) in a finance and administrative role, preferably within the agricultural industry.
    • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. SAGE 300) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Integrity and a strong sense of confidentiality.
    • Familiarity with the agricultural sector in Nigeria is an advantage.

    Seed Production and Processing Officer

    Responsibilities
    Field Operations Responsibilities include: 

    • Recruitment of suitable growers to ensure the implementation of the production plan and produce high-quality foundation seeds. Confirmation of suitable soil types, seed crop isolation, previous crops, irrigation's facilities, availability of farm equipment, etc.
    • Ensure good land preparation practices are implemented before planting seed crops.
    • Establish seed crops effectively - check the condition of planting equipment, achieve the correct plant population, follow the recommended planting splits and patterns, check fertilizer placement and ensure proper treatment of seed.
    • Register all seed crops with the National Agricultural Seed Council (NASC) for certification purposes.
    • Perform good agronomic practices for seed crops such as effective management of weeds, pests and diseases to ensure high quality seed and no rejection by the National Seed Regulator.
    • Carry out regular inspections of the seed production fields to check on the implementation of good agronomic practices and field seed standards for seed certification purposes.
    • Ensure roguing of off types is timely and effectively done by use of descriptors to ensure production of high-quality seeds.
    • Strictly monitor detasseling of seed crops to ensure production of high-quality foundation seeds that meet the set standards on genetic purity.
    • Ensure cost-effective production through enhance productivity of seed crops.
    • larvesting - ensure that the seed crops are harvested at the right moisture content and check for insect ramade.
    • Collect production data regarding flowering and silking timings to be used in the production of seed crops. ations and experience:

    • Five (5) years of experience in a seed production role knowledge of seed regulations and certification standards
    • Awareness of reglonal harmonized seed laws and policies
    • Computer literacy
    • Driving License
    • A highly proficient level of written/spoken English.
    • Performance and results-driven attitude.
    • Willingness to work flexibly concerning starting and finishing times.
    • Willingness to travel extensively in the field for crop inspections.
