    Territory Development Officer

    Purpose of the Role

    • The Territory Development Officer (TDO) is responsible for driving growth in leases / asset finance through structured market research, proactive pipeline development, high-quality lead generation, and detailed monitoring of competitor activity.
    • This is a field-focused business development role that requires strong commercial awareness, disciplined planning, and a deep understanding of the assigned territory. The role is highly KPI-driven and is central to expanding the company’s client base and loan portfolio.

    Key Responsibilities
    Market Research G Territory Intelligence:

    • Conduct continuous market research within the assigned geographic territory.
    • Develop in-depth understanding of local demand for leases / asset finance for the company’s products, client demographics, economic activity, and untapped sales potential.
    • Identify all 3-Wheeler Tricycle parks within the specified geography, map the respective Branch Chairmen and Park Chairmen. Map key clusters of potential clients e.g., individual operators, small businesses, traders, etc.

    Lead Pipeline Development G Management:

    • Find leads with strong repayment capacity, stable incomes and expenses, and credible guarantor/s.
    • Build and maintain a pipeline of minimum 100 leads, of which 30 leads must be ‘hot’ leads with a high probability of being approved for financing.
    • Categorise 100 leads into hot, warm, and cold leads based on credit readiness, financing needs, and urgency.
    • Update the pipeline daily and ensure the following information has been obtained for each lead and guarantor:
    • Full name, National Identification Number (NIN), Copy of ID Card, NIN Slip or similar, Bank Verification Number (BVN), Residential address
    • Engage the leads regularly to maintain relationships and build awareness.

    New Clients:

    • Achieve monthly targets as agreed with Management to earn attractive bonus each month!
    • Work closely with Territory Credit Officers, Territory Credit Managers and Collections Officers to support end-to-end onboarding and client relationship management.

    Competitor Monitoring G Market Intelligence:
    Continuously monitor and document competitor activities within the assigned territory, including:

    • Sales / marketing / promotions strategies and campaigns
    • Initial payments / deposit amounts, daily / weekly repayment amounts, tenures / loan period
    • Loan terms and conditions
    • Number of clients approved
    • Identify strengths and weaknesses of competitors and provide recommendations.
    • Submit competitor intelligence updates regularly.

    Required Ǫualifications
    G Experience:

    • High School completion Certificate required; Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Business, Finance, or related field is an advantage.
    • 2–5 years’ experience in field sales, business development, microfinance, asset finance, or related sectors.
    • Proven experience building and managing sales pipelines.
    • Strong understanding of lead generation, client qualification, and sales funnels.
    • Experience working in informal, semi-formal, or small-business markets is highly advantageous.

    Skills G Competencies:

    • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
    • High level of territory awareness and commercial acumen.
    • Ability to work independently and meet strict sales KPIs.
    • Skilled in client prospecting, screening, and conversion.

    Credit Officer

    Purpose of the Role

    • The Credit Officer is responsible for assessing new financing applicants using information obtained from the Territory Development Officers (TDOs) following a strict and prescribed credit assessment process. This role is analytical, requiring strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and consistent achievement of daily and weekly credit application targets.

    Key Responsibilities
    Creditworthiness Assessment:

    • Assess client income, expenditure patterns, savings, employment stability, financial behaviour, character, personality, risk profile, criminal check, and overall repayment capacity.
    • Identify strengths, weaknesses, risks, and potential fraud indicators.
    • Conduct structured, in-depth interviews with prospective clients and their guarantors to obtain truthful and accurate information essential for evaluating their creditworthiness and guarantors’ capacity to act as guarantors.
    • Prepare credit reports and make recommendations in alignment with company credit policies for submission to the Credit Manager and Head of Operations.

    KYC Document Collection G Compliance:

    • Obtain and verify all necessary documents required and submitted for KYC, including NIN, BVN, mobile number, physical residential address and work address, proof of residence, proof of income, bank statements, and all supporting information obtained.
    • Ensure all client files comply with regulatory standards and compliance and internal audit requirements.
    • Maintain accurate digital and physical records as part of the loan underwriting process.

    KYC Document Collection G Compliance:

    • Obtain and verify all necessary documents required and submitted for KYC, including NIN, BVN, mobile number, physical residential address and work address, proof of residence, proof of income, bank statements, and all supporting information obtained.
    • Ensure all client files comply with regulatory standards and compliance and internal audit requirements.
    • Maintain accurate digital and physical records as part of the loan underwriting process.

    Credit Assessment:

    • Conduct in-person credit assessment interviews with applicants with friendliness, fluency, maturity and dignity.
    • Effectively use a tablet or laptop to upload all the required information to the company’s loan origination system. Ensuring high-quality data input is imperative.

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
    You will be measured and evaluated against clearly defined productivity and quality standards, including:

    • Daily and weekly credit application completion targets (number of fully processed and submitted applications).
    • Turnaround time for credit assessments and field verification reports.
    • Accuracy and completeness of submitted applications (low return-rate due to errors or missing documents).
    • Compliance with KYC and verification standards (zero tolerance for non-compliance).
    • Ǫuality of environmental assessment reports based on audit reviews.

    Required Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree from a credible University, preferably in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
    • 2-3 years’ experience in credit assessment, microfinance, vehicle finance, or similar lending environments.
    • Solid understanding of credit analysis, affordability assessment, and KYC regulations.
    • Previous field verification experience in financial services is beneficial.
    • Willingness to travel frequently for fieldwork.
