    Migration Health Physician - Public Health

    Overview of Position

    • Under the overall supervision of the Head of Sub Office and direct supervision of the Chief Migration Health officer and in coordination with the PHCC In charge (Head) coordinator in the LGA, the incumbent will support the overall health activities, service delivery, development and coordination of all IOM JICA project.
    • He/she shall coordinate planned health outreaches, coordinate training planning/logistics, collate patient/hospital data/records.
    • He/she shall provide leadership and guidance in establishing the highest standards of care and ensuring optimal delivery of quality care in line with international best practices He/she will undertake the below tasks as mentioned in the TOR.

    Role Objectives

    • Responsible for coordinating the overall clinical and field activities related to the project in all the PHCC
    • Responsible for coordinating and mobilizing staff for capacity building.
    • Responsible for coordinating and mobilizing staff for health sensitization and TB screening in his/her health facility.
    • Supervision of the operations at the different PHCCs and prepare quarterly reports for supervisors
    • Responsible for direct support supervision all other cadre of staff in that health facility for effectively health care service delivery
    • Maintain detailed reports on clinic health service delivery (Patient records) and report on their progress
    • Participate in design and formulation of unit policies, SOPs and clinical pathways
    • Provide oversight and coordinate the procurement of medical equipment, vaccines, medications, and other medical supplies in coordination with the CMHO and the Resource Management Unit
    • Identify and propose potential new projects on migration health that could/should be developed. Participate in their writing and development in consultation with the Chief Migration Health Officer
    • Provide technical inputs to develop improved systems for regular monitoring and reporting on health project achievements, challenges, and strategic needs. In conjunction with the Migration Health Officer (MHO)/CMHO, assist in implementing and following up these systems.
    • Monitor and evaluate the quality of health care provided to IOM beneficiaries and bring to the supervisor issues with compliance to national and IOM global standards
    • Performing other applicable tasks and duties as assigned by the PHCC Head, Supervisor, Medical Officer/National Migration Health Officer.
    • Perform any other duties/task assigned by the Supervisor.

    Project Reporting:

    • This role will work under the overall supervision of the Head of Sub Office and direct supervision of the Chief Migration Health officer and in coordination with the PHCC In charge (Head) coordinator in the LGA.

    Key Competencies

    • Bachelors Degree in Medicine (MBBS, MBChB, MD) with a minimum of four (4) years post- internship continuous clinical experience, preferably in a multidisciplinary hospital setting. The last clinical posting should be within the last five years.
    • A valid license to practice Medicine in Nigeria
    • Masters in Public Health field is an added advantage
    • Excellent technical skills, including especially in clinical general practice.
    • Good knowledge of clinical care especially in the Primary or secondary Health Care settings in Nigeria.
    • Professional experience as a specialist will be an added advantage.
    • Public Health knowledge and experience is an added advantage
    • Working with the UN is an added advantage.

    Role Objectives
    S / he will undertake the below tasks:

    • Ensure survivors of gender based violence are timely identified & provided counselling & other appropriate response services.
    • Ensure relevant referral forms are in place, timely referral of SGBV cases is implemented accordingly & coordinate monthly meetings including, parent’s forum & child protection committee.
    • Facilitate the assessment of the living conditions of SGBV survivor’s communities & participate in the development of appropriate response to the needs of SGBV.
