    Sea / Air Shipping Officer

    About the Role

    • Open & Close shipment (Sea & Air freight) hardcopy files.
    • Apply for Sea & Air freight Import SONCAP Certificates & follow up.
    • Apply for Sea & Air freight Import PAAR & follow up with Bank
    • Communicates PAARs & other Shipping documents to LCAs.
    • Reconciles & responds to Customs DNs & other queries.
    • Follow up with LCAs on PAAR utilization.
    • Updates PAAR progress on the W-Drive
    • Prepares weekly PAAR application status & monthly PAAR utilization reports.
    • Updates Transit E-archive.
    • Any other activity or Service function assigned to me by the Manager of the Department.

    Requirements

    • Degree in Social Science or Engineering course
    • Computer literate: Use of Microsoft applications and database management softwar
    • Knowledge of SAP is an added advantage.
    • Interfaces with contractors and should be capable of speaking and writing good English.

    Support and Documentation Officer

    About the Role

    • Liaise with public institutions to secure NAFDAC permits and approvals for import.
    • Relate with users to advise availability of relevant import permits and process permit requests.
    • Follow up of freight forwarding and local clearing agents’ invoices.
    • Pre-vet freight forwarding and local clearing agents’ invoices before submission to Finance and Accounts department.
    • Process freight forwarding agents and local clearing agents’ invoices on web cycle invoice processing tool.
    • Participate in service quality meetings with foreign freight forwarding agents and local clearing agents.
    • Participate in meetings with local clearing agents on issues and policies impacting on Transit operations.
    • Participate in CFT preparation for freight forwarding and local clearing agents’ Call-off contract.
    • Participate in Post CFT negotiation.
    • Recover container deposit refunds from local clearing agents.
    • Transmit container deposit refund cheques to Finance & Accounts department.
    • Participate in ABS 13-1 duet monthly meeting.
    • Prepare sea / air freight cost estimates to advice Management in granting approval for change of mode of transport.
    • Prepare sea / air freight and clearing cost estimates when requested by buyers to facilitate decision making in the purchasing process.Prepare departmental weekly report and monthly dashboard in line with Company rules.
    • Prepare quarterly and yearly total freight cost report.
    • Prepare monthly CP3 report
    • Prepare monthly cost savings report
    • Prepare monthly ABS report
    • Prepare minutes of Transit departmental meetings and meetings with partners /vendors.
    • Update Entity file with freight forwarding and local clearing agents invoice values.
    • Ensure adequate record keeping of invoices, container deposit refund and NAFDAC related documentations.
    • Create purchase orders on E-transit.
    • Any other activity or Service function assigned to me by the Manager of the Department.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Shipping activities
    • Basic knowledge of SAP, MS Excel and MS Word
    • Graduate in Management or Social Sciences Discipline.

    Shipping Officer

    About the Role

    • Attend to all Import shipping documentation (Air & Sea) activities.
    • Global import logistics cargo planning and liaison {Air & Sea} with foreign suppliers/manufacturers/forwarders atorigin to delivery in Company approved facilities in Nigeria.
    • Ensure proper guidance in International Shipping matters to all parties, and ensure Forwarding and Shipping arrangements, in line with best practice and optimum efficiency.
    • Advise and ensure strict compliance on Shipping documentation (Air & Sea) requirements and procedures in line with international and Nigerian Standard shipping policies.
    • Ensure timely pre-alert documentations are received from source.
    • Ensure proper regularization, amendment/correction are effected on pre-alert documents by forwarders/foreign suppliers before approval is given and cargo is shipped from source.
    • Properly collate all necessary and complete set of received and approved import shipping (Air and Sea) documents and forward application to Government approved Inspection agencies for RAR approval/issuance.
    • Liaison with various Government agencies for import/export activities where required.
    • Participate in developing shipping strategy in co-operation with other members of the transit team taking into account the eventual synergy plans on dedicated projects.
    • Propose improvement and generation of the shipping section procedures and policies to the Manager.
    • Ensure maintenance of Database for tracking all shipments
    • Monitor shipping trends on the International scene
    • Data analysis and reporting.
    • Prepare weekly /.monthly reports as appropriate.
    • Carry out any other duties that may be assigned by the Hierarchy

    Requirements

    • A graduate of any Social Science discipline with at least 4 years’ experience in international trade / shipping in similar activities
    • Good inter-personal skills.
    • Good computing software skills.

    Port Operations Officer

    About the Role

    • To be the focal point of all Agents activities at the Federal Ocean Terminal (FOT)
    • To liaise with Port Operators in all COMPANY shipping interest – viz Intels, BRAWAL, NPA, OGFZA, Customs etc
    • To participate in all pre-cargo discharge meetings ahead of berthing with port operators and shippers’ agents.
    • To assist, maintain & register equipment deployed for operations by port operators, and sign-off related Job-sheets.
    • To ensure all key transaction elements, Customs documentation of all cleared cargoes are maintained.
    • To liaise with Operations Personnel at Onne and provide appropriate Customs clearance documents on demand.
    • Assist and maintain an efficient container tracking system with all parties for the control of demurrage.
    • To liaise with Head of Yards for stacking spaces prior to the arrival of vessels with COMPANY cargoes.
    • To ensure deliveries are made promptly, maintain/dispatch copies of waybills, and ensure transfers to the warehouse receiving section.
    • To assist & ensure correct delineation of cargoes awaiting Customs examination/inspection.
    • To ensure that delivery documents are dispatched promptly for data updates and PO file closures.
    • Supervise and take reports of activities of our marine cargo surveyors for insurance purposes
    • Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with our HSE policy
    • Report weekly & monthly activities carried out at Onne FLT port.
    • Shipping Rep in charge of OML58 Materials at Onne.
    • Shipping Rep in charge of OFON PHASE II Materials at Onne.
    • Liaising with Operations personnel at Onne and providing appropriate customs clearance documents on demand.
    • Managing Excel file of Onne Transit delivery update.
    • Ensuring of proper documentations of shipping documents.
    • To review the shipping documents received from the freight forwarder in accordance with the statutory requirement.
    • Ensure that HS code of each line item is stated on the commercial invoice
    • To ensure that appropriate packing of all COMPANY cargoes.
    • To ensure that shipments are consolidated before it has been shipped.
    • To secure valid import authorization documentation (FORM M)
    • To provide necessary documents to the customs clearing Agent.
    • To coordinate Customs clearing processes and delivery of material.
    • Any other activity or Service function assigned by the Manager of the Department.

    Requirements

    • Graduate in Management or Social Sciences with at least 5 years’ experience in shipping and Port Operations.
    • knowledge of SAP, MS Excel, MS word, Power Point
    • HND / PGD – Qualifications.
