    Fleet Officer

    Fleet Officer Duties and Responsibilities
    Operations:

    • Manage the loading and scheduling of loads
    • Follow up with drivers for prompt delivery and return
    • Manage diesel allocation for accuracy
    • Confirm every delivery immediately after offloading to prevent losses and escalate every under delivery
    • Report all diversion requests and follow up with prompt communication to the driver and clients
    • Escalate all offloading delays for timely offloading
    • OTD/TAT monitoring and management to ensure timely delivery and turnaround of the driver
    • Maintenance delay reporting to clients in the overall improvement of our OTD score
    • Embark on rescue operations where required.
    • Preparation of reports such as daily final offloading point reporting and weekly final offloading point reports, amongst others.
    • Support activities and other tasks as assigned by the team lead
    • Monthly truck accessories reporting with a report to the management, including recommendations for drivers with missing accessories
    • Manage the driver database and communicate the absence of drivers to the driver admin unit.
    • Submit a well-compiled and up-to-date monthly active drivers’ list to the admin unit.

    Asset Management:

    • Work with new and previous drivers to take inventory of trucks and properly file such records.
    • Supervise drivers during the process for a thorough execution and ensure the documents are well prepared.
    • Conduct an inventory of accidented or abandoned vehicles at the incident scene, document and report accordingly.
    • Ensure that the accessories of trucks under maintenance, accidented or without drivers are duly returned to the store.
    • Any other task may be required

    Requirements for Educational Qualifications

    • Candidates should possess an HND with a minimum of 2 years of working experience as an Operations Assistant.

    Fleet Supervisor

    Fleet Management:

    • Oversee the daily operations of the company\'s fleet of vehicles.
    • Ensure the fleet is utilized efficiently to meet operational needs.
    • Develop and implement strategies to optimize fleet performance and reduce costs.

    Vehicle Maintenance:

    • Schedule and coordinate regular maintenance and repairs for all vehicles.
    • Ensure all vehicles are in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
    • Maintain detailed records of vehicle maintenance and repair activities.

    Driver Management:

    • Recruit, train, and supervise drivers to ensure they adhere to company policies and safety standards.
    • Monitor driver performance and address any issues promptly.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to drivers.

    Vehicle Allocations:

    • Manage the allocation of vehicles for various tasks and assignments.
    • Ensure vehicles are available and ready for use as per the schedule.
    • Coordinate with other departments to meet their transport needs.

    Safety and Compliance:

    • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures for drivers and vehicles.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation laws and regulations.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.

    Reporting and Documentation:

    • Prepare and submit regular reports on fleet performance, maintenance, and driver management.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all transport-related activities.
    • Provide insights and recommendations for improving transport operations.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor\'s Degree in Logistics, Transportation Management, or a related field (preferred).
    • 4 - 10 years of experience in fleet management, vehicle maintenance, and driver management.
    • Strong knowledge of transport regulations and safety standards.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
