    MEAL Officer (Volunteer)

    The MEAL Officer (Volunteer) will support the implementation of SARVCI’s Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) system. This role is vital in strengthening project effectiveness by ensuring timely data collection, analysis, reporting, and the integration of lessons learned into programming. The volunteer will assist with tracking indicators, ensuring accountability mechanisms are functional, and participating in evaluations and assessments.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the design and implementation of project-level MEAL plans and tools.
    • Assist with routine data collection, entry, cleaning, and analysis for various programs.
    • Participate in baseline, midline, and endline assessments, including focus group discussions and key informant interviews.
    • Conduct regular field visits to monitor data quality and support enumerators during data collection exercises.
    • Contribute to the development of data visualizations, dashboards, and MEAL reports.
    • Help maintain program databases and archives of means of verification (MoVs).
    • Ensure the functionality of accountability systems (hotlines, feedback boxes, community meetings).
    • Document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories.
    • Support in capacity building of field staff and partners on MEAL tools and approaches.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned by the MEAL Manager or Program Manager.

    Requirements and Qualifications

    • A Bachelor\'s degree (or ongoing final year) in Statistics, Social Sciences, Information Management, Public Health, Development Studies, or a related field.
    • Prior volunteering or internship experience in MEAL or data-related roles is an advantage.
    • Familiarity with basic M&E tools and data collection methods (surveys, FGDs, KIIs).
    • Knowledge of digital data collection tools such as KoboToolbox, ODK, or CommCare.
    • Basic data analysis skills using Excel or Google Sheets; knowledge of SPSS, Power BI, or Tableau is a plus.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Hausa or Kanuri is an added advantage.
    • Demonstrated attention to detail, integrity, and willingness to learn in a team setting.
    • Passion for humanitarian work and community development.

    Finance Manager

    Job Summary

    The Finance Manager will oversee all financial management, accounting, and reporting functions of SARVCI. This includes budget planning and tracking, financial reporting to donors and management, auditing, cash flow management, compliance with statutory regulations and donor requirements, and leading the development and implementation of sound financial policies and systems. The Finance Manager will work closely with program and operations teams to ensure effective financial support for program implementation.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee and manage all financial operations, ensuring compliance with SARVCI policies and donor regulations.
    • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.
    • Develop and monitor organizational and project budgets in collaboration with program staff.
    • Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely implementation of audit recommendations.
    • Maintain proper records and documentation of all financial transactions.
    • Ensure accurate and timely payroll administration, tax remittances, and statutory contributions (e.g., pension, NHF, PAYE).
    • Support procurement processes by ensuring proper financial documentation and adherence to procurement policies.
    • Build the capacity of finance and program teams on budgeting, financial tracking, and compliance.
    • Liaise with banks, auditors, and other financial stakeholders.
    • Provide strategic financial insights to management to inform decision-making.
    • Ensure timely submission of donor financial reports and liquidation documentation.

    Requirements and Qualifications

    • Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
    • Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, CPA) is required.
    • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in financial management, preferably in the nonprofit or humanitarian sector.
    • Proven experience managing donor-funded projects (e.g., UN, EU, USAID, DFID, etc.).
    • Excellent knowledge of accounting standards, principles, and financial reporting.
    • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms.
    • Strong understanding of Nigerian tax laws and regulatory frameworks.
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Demonstrated leadership, team management, and capacity-building abilities.

    Programs Manager

    Job Summary

    The Programs Manager will lead the strategic development, coordination, implementation, and quality assurance of SARVCI’s humanitarian and development programs. The role will ensure that all projects are aligned with the organization’s mission, donor requirements, and sector standards. The Programs Manager will directly supervise project leads, work closely with MEAL, Finance, and Operations teams, and represent SARVCI in relevant coordination forums and donor engagements.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide strategic leadership and oversight across all SARVCI programs and ensure coherence, synergy, and alignment with the organization’s goals.
    • Supervise project implementation teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of activities.
    • Oversee the preparation of project work plans, budgets, and narrative reports in compliance with donor regulations.
    • Ensure adherence to humanitarian standards, including Sphere, Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS), and protection mainstreaming.
    • Collaborate with the MEAL team to ensure effective monitoring, learning, and adaptive management.
    • Support proposal development, concept notes, and grant applications in collaboration with program teams.
    • Build the capacity of program staff through regular coaching, training, and performance management.
    • Foster partnerships with local stakeholders, government agencies, and humanitarian actors.
    • Represent SARVCI at sectoral coordination meetings, donor visits, and community engagements.
    • Promote accountability, inclusion, gender sensitivity, and protection in all program activities.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of organizational strategies and policies.

    Requirements and Qualifications

    • Bachelor\'s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Health, or a related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
    • Minimum of 4 years experience in program management within a humanitarian or development context, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
    • Proven experience in managing multi-sectoral donor-funded projects (e.g., UN, USAID, ECHO, DFID, etc.).
    • Strong knowledge of project cycle management, budgeting, compliance, and donor reporting.
    • Demonstrated experience in leading teams, building capacity, and coaching staff.
    • Excellent writing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Strong coordination, networking, and representation skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with project management tools is an asset.
    • Knowledge of the Northeast Nigeria context and ability to work in insecure environments is highly desirable.
    • Fluency in English is required; working knowledge of Hausa or Kanuri is an added advantage.
