    Compliance Manager

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
    • Candidate with experience financial institutions will be preferred
    • Minimum 8 years of experience with at least 3 years in a senior position/role.
    • Compliance experience in a CBN regulated entity.
    • Masters’ degree will be an advantage.
    • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts clearly.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with diverse teams.
    • Ability to be adaptive, flexible and collaborative.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide sound advice on compliance matters to the organization as well as its various business units and departments.
    • Review internal policies and ensure that they are in compliance with all applicable statutory or regulatory requirements.
    • Drive awareness and compliance with regulatory and statutory directives and requirements.
    • Liaise and engage regulatory bodies/authorities on the organization’s behalf.
    • Keep abreast of, monitor and analyze regulatory trends and changes in regulatory directives, rules and regulations.
    • Assist the Chief Legal Officer with any other duties or projects as required.

    Senior Accountant, Manufacturing

    Salary: 500kgross

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Management Sciences such as Accounting, Economics e.t.c
    • Must have 4-6 years relevant work experience in Finance and accounting role in a Manufacturing or Trading company is a MUST
    • Professional qualification ICAN/ACCA is compulsory
    • Hands-on experience with ERP SYSTEMS
    • High proficiency in Microsoft office (Excel, word and Powerpoint and writing skills)

    Responsibilities

    • Manage accounting and financial systems and maintain full and accurate accounting records: approve journal accounting entries and ensure appropriate set up of all inflow entries from ERP system.
    • Maintain an adequate balance sheet schedule.
    • Reconcile General Ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial statements.
    • Conduct financial analysis and prepare detailed financial reports and statements in accordance with financial reporting standards.
    • Ensure smooth running of the Accounts Payable service.
    • Ensure commitment authority is exercised before payment authority.
    • Manages complex planning studies, development applications and reviews proposals from other departments.
    • Ensure statutory audited financial statements are available to meet the above meeting legal timeline.
    • Respond to auditors’ comments (findings in the inquiries or transmittals) concerning finance and operations and oversee required actions to address deficiencies.
    • Ensure general ledger accounts are reconciled as per standard accounts reconciliation
    • Responsible for statutory tax compliance and implement all tax laws as applicable to PAYE, VAT, and withholding tax.
    • Ensure application of correct rate and timely remittance of amount due to the relevant tax authorities
    • Assisting management in the decision-making process by preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
    • Identify process improvement in the finance department
    • Managing relationships with bankers and other regulatory agencies.

    Tax Officer

    Responsibilities 

    Compliance:

    • Support the Direct/Indirect tax teams to ensure timely remittance of taxes and resolve related issues.
    • Obtain, collate and retain evidence of all tax remittances.
    • Maintain a tracker for all tax payments.
    • Support in processing Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC) for the Business.
    • Visit tax offices for submission of letters/resolution of tax matters where required.
    • Handle FIRS inspection of stock decantation and destruction exercises i.e., prepare and file invitation letters and supporting appendices to FIRS, agree a date for FIRS to witness the exercise and follow-up where necessary, plan with internal teams ahead of inspection, provide field logistics support to FIRS during inspection, represent Tax during the inspection exercise.
    • Ensure timely upload of tax payment receipts (PAYE tax, VAT, WHT, Excise Duty and TCC) on the Business’tax compliance register for internal control purposes.
    • Support the payroll team to ensure timely submission of tax returns to State IRSs.

    Support during Tax Audits:

    • Follow-up with relevant teams on document requests.
    • Collate, review and analyse documents to be shared with consultants/Tax Authorities.
    • Collaborate with internal teams: direct/indirect tax, procurement, facilities, security, safety teams, etc. ahead of field tax audits to ensure seamless exercises.
    • Provide requested documents to consultants to ensure timely responses on audits.
    • Reconcile and deal with suppliers’ concerns on WHT and VAT.
    • Respond to all routine and ad-hoc requests addressed to the tax team.
    • Participate in month end and year end reporting, and annual tax filing activities.
    • Maintain good working relationships with all internal and external tax stakeholders.
    • Perform all assigned tasks directly or indirectly related to, additional or supplementary to the scope of duties in this role profile.

    Requirements

    • Degree-level qualification in Accounting, Business Administration, or any related field with relevant work experience.
    • Experience 2-3 years post qualification experience with proven integrity.
    • Use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
    • Basic knowledge of accounting software – SAP.

    Salary

    N250,000  Net + Other Benefits
