    Finance Manager

    Structure: The Finance Manager will report directly to the CEO.

    Job Summary

    • Cathari Fortia is seeking a Finance Manager who will be responsible for strategic financial planning & modelling, building out a strong finance and accounting organization, developing the company's short and long-term strategy, investment capital/venture capital activities. The position is located in Lagos, Nigeria.

    Job Description

    • Ensure that the company’s Finance/Accounts and treasury functions are consistent with Internationally Accepted Accounting Practices and with the Group Accounting Policy
    • Responsible for managing the financial operation, developing strategic and financial plans, and collaborating with top management to grow the business.
    • Provide financial leadership and reporting for the company including financials, operations, and banking reports, tax returns and filings, financial statements, and forecasts.
    • Develop, operate and continuously improve an internal system of strong financial management, key performance metrics, tracking, analysis, and accounting controls to ensure efficient monitoring of financial performance and safeguard of financial assets and information, suggest improvements, and provide financial insights for corporate decisions for operations, production, capital structure, growth, and investments.
    • Establish control policies, cost savings, guidelines, and procedures to optimize all finance and accounting activities throughout the organization.
    • Manage the financial activities and personnel to form a high performing, high morale, and results-oriented team with maximum contribution from each person and ensure succession plan.
    • Collaborate to manage all employee compensation, incentives, and benefits including affordable health care, and benefits

    Job Responsibilities

    • Work collaboratively with the leadership team to assess and model short-term and long-term growth plans, operational goals, departmental budgets, and forecasts.
    • Lead the company's financing efforts and ensure the business maintains an optimized capital structure.
    • Improve internal controls, accounting standards, enhance processes and reporting capabilities, including forecasting to ensure rapid growth and expansion.
    • Develop, maintain, and ensure delivery against KPIs, business plans, financial models, and budgets.
    • Lead, develop, and promote a culture of high performance and continuous learning among the Finance and Accounting team members.
    • Drive functional teams to achieve significant business growth while capturing cost efficiencies and implement cost management processes.
    • Analyze everyday liquidity activities and subsequently provide advice and guidance to upper management on future financial plans.
    • Develops/coordinates the liquidity cycle of the company.
    • Coordinate the preparation of bank reconciliation statements to ensure all items are captured correctly and display an understanding of the Company’s bank reconciliation process based on the accounting package.
    • Remain current regarding all accounting developments relevant to the Company’s financial reporting.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business related field.
    • CFA/ACCA/ICAN is a plus.
    • 5+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, and/or Business Operations, budget creation and revision, business plan creation and revision, including 3+ years in a senior leadership role preferably an Energy company.
    • Proficiency in MS Office.
    • Strong organizational skills required. Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet competing deadlines with available resources.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Operations Manager

    Structure: The Operations Manager will report directly to the CEO

    Job Description

    • Acts as a strategic partner on the leadership team and work closely with the team to ensure they are meeting performance expectations.
    • Coaches and develops the team to ensure they are delivering against key business metrics.
    • Looks for methods to improve quality, efficiency, and productivity, reduce costs, increase profits, or improve control measures.
    • Works collaboratively to develop and/or improve systems, processes, controls, and procedures that improve the overall efficiency of the firm and ensure excellent client service.
    • Provides timely, accurate, and complete reports on the operating condition of the company.
    • Leads and develops a team across multiple locations and over various functions.
    • Motivates and leads a high-performance management team.
    • Provides mentoring as a cornerstone to the management career development program, collaborates with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of our organization.
    • Work autonomously while ensuring CEO expectations are readily met and exceeded.
    • Fosters a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Minimum of 5 years of operational management experience.
    • Previous work experience in an energy company.
    • Proven background in developing and managing to operational metrics.
    • Demonstrated strategic leadership ability.
    • Proficiency in MS Office
    • “Big picture” thinking - Be able to address top-level concerns and find the best path forward.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills required - Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet competing deadlines with available resources.
