    Job Summary

    • The position holder is responsible for providing leadership to the investment management function of the company, through effective market analysis, portfolio management, and asset the company by collaborating with the Board of Directors, and the Executive Management Committee of the Holding Company to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies.
    • He/ She is responsible for contributing to the formulation of investment strategies, product development and process improvement initiatives;
    • Maintain coverage of assigned research responsibilities;
    • Ensuring efficient trade execution, portfolio administration and transaction processing;
    • Supporting Primary Portfolio Managers and maintaining secondary responsibility for asset portfolio.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Build advantageous relationships across the firm, as well as with key decision-makers in organisations in which the company either already has an existing relationship, or are in the organisation’s client pipeline, in order to support the growth of the firm’s client-base and Assets Under Management (AUM), as well as its long-term business growth
    • The Position Holder is also required to sit on the executive, investment and mutual funds committees of the organisation
    • Active contribution to the development and implementation of strategies improve the portfolio management function
    • The Position Holder is also responsible for the implementation of agreed investment strategies and action plans and ensuring adherence to investment mandates and client profiles
    • Leads market research and analysis efforts into uncovering both global and local macroeconomic trends, extensive research into various financial instruments, and in-depth review of mostly publicly traded companies, in order to understand current trends, and forecast future performance, with the aim of applying this knowledge to managing the firms
    • Develop portfolio performance benchmarks and targets based on factual market information on an annual basis, or at any other frequency interval requested
    • Review proposals for investment in quoted equities, bonds, and money market securities. Prepare funds management proposals to current and prospective clients
    • Produce and implement a manual of procedures and processes for all investment-related activities
    • Trade execution, including compilation and dissemination of approved portfolio trade orders to counter-parties. The Position Holder is also responsible for ensuring efficient and accurate posting of portfolio and transaction data
    • Review on a constant basis, the asset allocation of mutual funds to ensure compliance with the trust deeds.
    • Responsible for driving and sustaining strategic people management practices that support the organisation’s ability to achieve its corporate objectives through optimal talent resourcing, employee engagement, talent management, and people development.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university. Master’s Degree in a related role will be an added advantage.
    • Professional certification in finance and/ accounting from a recognised professional body (CFA, CGMA, ACCA,ICAN etc.).
    • Minimum of 9 - 12 years of work experience in similar role.
    • Excellent Knowledge in Macroeconomic analysis and Financial Modelling.
    • Good Financial & Market Research Analysis.
    • Excellent Knowledge of Investment & Stakeholder Management.
    • Business presentation & digitation skills.
    • Good decision quality and problem-solving skills.
    • Good interpersonal and relationship management skills.

    Job Summary

    • The position holder is responsible for providing oversight over the research / analysis of securities data target industries, markets, and capital markets, with the aim of providing own audience with a robust evidence-base in making investment decisions.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Oversees the collection of market data & trendspotting on various classes of security instruments, and their transformation into actionable information through fundamental, technical, and quantitative analysis, presented in periodic research notes with the aim of supporting investment decision-making by both internal teams (i.e. client relations, & proprietary trading desks), and the company’s clientele (retail and institutional).
    • The position holder is also responsible for providing analytical support in the production, and maintenance of marketing collaterals for the securities business.
    • Lead detailed, and extensive analysis of investment portfolios to both internal teams, and the company’s clientele with the aim of driving their effective decision- making in deriving maximum return and minimizing costs like financial costs within the context of constraints such as regulations, taxes, and transaction costs
    • Develop customized marketing documents, and research for the purpose of sales pitches to prospective institutional clients.
    • The position holder is also expected to actively participate in the firm’s sales roadshows to both local, and foreign institutional clients, as well as in presentations to client
    • Responsible for driving the implementation of strategic initiatives that sustain / improve the organization’s competitive advantage within its operating environment.
    • Contribute to the creation, or modification the company’s product offerings with the objective of providing new or additional benefits to customers, as well as enhancing the company’s competitiveness and market dominance.
    • Provides advice, guidance, and assistance to less experienced colleagues as required.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree from accredited university. MBA or other advanced degree in finance.
    • Relevant professional qualifications in finance, and investment management (e.g. CIS, CFA, ACCA).
    • Minimum of 6 years of cognate experience in similar role.
    • Strong Financial modelling, Market Research Management skills.
    • Knowledge of Investment and Stakeholder Management.
    • Excellent knowledge in macroeconomic Analysis.
    • Strong Business presentation & Business Analysis.
    • Good interpersonal & Relationship management skills.
