    Role Overview

    The Retail Accountant performs a variety of accounting and bookkeeping duties according to established policies and procedures;  analyses and prepares financial and management reports to aid management decisions as well as provides financial information to management by researching different accounting data.


    He ensures the accuracy of PRL financial records and compliance with best practice financial management principles and regulatory requirements.

    Required

    Experience

    Minimum of 3 years experience as a sales Accountant in a retail/re-distribution company.

    About the role

    We are currently recruiting Merchandising Coordinators who will be responsible for driving our merchandising strategy that ensures profitability while building a long-term collaboration with brand partners and stakeholders.
    Job Responsibilities

    • Direct, monitor and ensure daily merchandising operations align with the stakeholders’ strategic goals and objectives.
    • Train and coach Merchandisers to ensure that all in-store operations are driven by established KPIs.
    • Managing assortment mix in line with category strategy, revenues, and gross margin target as well as inventory levels
    • Forecasting, and negotiating quantities with buyers, suppliers, and distributors

    Requirements

    • B.Sc/H.N.D in Marketing, Business Administration or a related field.

    Role Overview

    With the Supervision of the Senior Accountant, the successful candidates are expected to maintain accounts receivables and payables, update financial statements, post journal entries and carry out other financial accounting duties that may be assigned.
    Key Accountability Areas

    • Data Management
    • Maintain an update SAGE software daily/periodically
    • Reconciliations of Key Accounts
    • Reconcile all bank accounts on a daily basis.
    • Bank accounts reconciled monthly
    • Conduct monthly reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy
    • Ensure all Statutory returns are accurately submitted on due dates once they have been reconciled.

    Others

    • Capture & reconcile petty cash accounts.
    • Provide clerical and administrative support to management if required.
    • Ensure that all financial records are accurate and timely for end of financial year audits.  
    • Comply with general office policies, procedures and all legal requirements.
    • Undertake any other specific duties as required by the Finance Manager.

    Required

    Experience

    Minimum of 6months – 1year experience as an Account Officer/Junior Accountant
    Education

    Maximum of OND in Accounting.
    Technological Skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; strong Excel, general computer skills and SAGE software
