Our client in the Oil & Gas Industry is in need of a Project HSE Manager who will be responsible for the management, implementation, and review of her HSE Management System; with the goal of achieving work objectives without incident, harm to personnel or damage to property and the environment. The preferred candidate is expected to display strong commitment and willingness to be a proactive HSE role model, with excellent communication skills and a comprehensive knowledge of the Nigerian Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation.

Responsibilities 

• Implement and monitor the HSE Management Systems, Plans and Procedures
• Promote a strong awareness and personal responsibility for HSE with all management and supervisory personnel
• Review company activities and ensure compliance with HSE policies, plans and procedures
• Ensure that contractor HSE activities comply with company and contractor HSE policies and plans
• Compile and publish HSE statistics report and communicate to management and all personnel
• Guarantee that emergency preparedness and response plans are developed, tested, documented and implemented
• Make sure that effective medical and occupational health facilities, resources, and consumables are provided and maintained at all offices and work sites.
• Organize and facilitate training, drills and exercises for emergency preparedness and response
• Lead risk assessment and studies, and ensure findings are properly addressed and implemented as work is executed
• Support Top Management and HR in the development of organisational roles and responsibilities as it relates to employee health and safety.

Requirements

• Masters’ Degree in Project Management with Engineering background
• Relevant HSE Training/Certification by an internationally accredited professional body
• Minimum of 15 years exposure to HSE related projects at managerial levels
• Possess strong knowledge of OHSAS18001, ISO14001 and ISM/ISPS standards, and qualify as an internal auditor
• Strong knowledge of relevant HSE principles.
• Knowledge of regulatory agency, client and subcontractor HSE requirements
• Excellent communication and IT skills
• Able to travel at short notice when required

Our client in the Oil & Gas Industry is in need of a Field HSE Supervisor who will be responsible for providing support to the project management team, foremen and workers in the field. He/she will coordinate the day-to-day execution of field health safety and environment activities in accordance with assigned responsibilities and established performance targets. The preferred candidates should display strong work ethics, incident investigation skills, effective organizational and communication skills, heightened attention to detail and ability to perform optimally in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities 

• Assist the company drilling management in the development and delivery of best in class drilling safety management processes
• Review the development and maintenance of HSE impact assessment (HSEIA) for drilling activities
• Review contractors and vendors HSE plans and procedures developed for the drilling phases
• Ensure design and operation performance standards are developed and maintained for all HSE critical systems within drilling
• Ensure the timely identification of HSE hazards, evaluation of risks for all field activities and development of effective tools to manage and reduce these risks to ALARP
• Provide input to leading and lagging drilling safety performance measures
• Actively support the development and realization of a positive, value-centered culture for the company
• Participate in incident control duties during major accident emergencies
• Conduct training sessions and drills to maintain and increase staff competency
• Participate in the planning and execution of rig moves with regards HSE of personnel, equipment and well sites

Requirements

• Masters’ Degree in Occupational Health and Safety Engineering
• Relevant HSE Training/Certification by an internationally accredited professional body
• Minimum of 15 years HSE field and supervisory experience within  the oil and gas industry
• Experience working on large scale oil and gas drilling projects would be an asset
• Demonstrate competency with the application of risk assessment to the company’s operations and processes
• Demonstrate interpersonal and team building skills
• Excellent communication and IT skills.
