    Team Lead, Revenue Assurance

    Job Description

    • Daily spooling of General Ledger (GL) balances of branches and head office departments.
    • Review of the GL pull out of Income & Contingent sub-heads.
    • Performs In-depth Investigation on GL to identify wrong postings, irregular and abnormal balances oraccounts with wrong classification.
    • Liaising with branches and departments having abnormal balances in their income & contingent accounts to regularize.
    • Collaborate with internal control department in ensuring that all improper balances in GL are cleared promptly by branches and departments responsible.
    • Preparation and Review of Monthly Income and Expenses trends for input into the revenue assurance MANCO report
    • Review fixed deposit booked on the system, to ensure there are no unverified system
      actions preventing roll over and non-interest payment. 
    • Review of fixed deposit exception/ recovery report for inclusion in the MANCO paper monthly.
    • Review uncollected management and commitment fees report on a monthly basis for loan and overdraft, to ensure all fees are taken, and approvals obtained where there are waivers.
    • Re-computation of interest income on overdraft, Account maintenance fees, loans, FIP, ROU etc. and charges to ensure completeness of the system in calculating and collecting
      these fees.
    • Uncollected fees are raised as exception against the relevant department/ unit in the bank
      for immediate recoup.
    • Development of additional scripts to validate system/user accuracy in collection of other
      income due the bank.
    • Liaising with branches on reasons for drop/increase in income or correct wrong
      classification of accounts.
    • Daily/Weekly/Monthly Review of Trial Balance of the bank for trend analysis.
    • Provision of audit requirements for External and Internal Audits

    Job Requirements: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
    • Professional certification (ACCA, ICAN, CFA) is required.
    • Minimum of 7 years post-qualification experience in a similar role. 
    • Experience in financial services industries/commercial banks is an advantage.

    Unit Head Tax, Fixed Asset & Insurance

    Job Description

    • Prepare Tax Planning/strategies for the bank for optimum tax advantage
    • Proper and effective coordination of Tax Audit – state and statutory. 
    • Effective liaison with the HOD and local tax advisers to support the effective management of the bank’s tax affairs and the local tax liabilities.
    • Manage compliance with the local corporate, income and other tax regimes (e.g. withholding tax and VAT), in order to minimize the burden of taxation on the bank. 
    • Creating bank wide tax consciousness, by initiating and facilitating tax training programs for bank affected personnel and providing regular updates on the latest development within the tax regulatory environment.
    • Provide updates on the new developments /circulars issued by FIRS
    • Preparation of reports on tax matter to Executive Management
    • Preparation of banks corporate tax returns in conjunction with tax consultants and ensure timely filing of corporate self-assessment tax returns
    • Ensure timely remittance of tax returns/payments 
    • Ensure prompt payment of corporate tax installments
    • Effective management of staff personal income tax
    • Liaison with tax consultants for timely procurement of personal income tax clearance certificates for all bank employees

    Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
    • Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CPA or its equivalent plus at least 10 years post Qualification years’ experience, with relevant / specific banking experience
    • Minimum of 10-15 years post-qualification experience, preferably consulting/financial services experience.
    • Sound knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and IFRS Accounting Policy
    • Proficiency in the use Ms word & Ms Excel

    GL Accounts Review Officer

    Job Description

    • Daily spooling of General Ledger (GL) balances of branches and head office departments. 
    • Review of the GL pull out of GL sub-heads. 
    • Preparation of Monthly Income and Expenses trends for input into the MANCO financial report. 
    • Liaising with branches on reasons for drop/increase in income/expenditures 
    • Liaising with branches and departments having abnormal balances in their suspense accounts to 
      regularize. 
    • Collaborate with internal control department in ensuring that all suspense accounts in GL are cleared promptly by branches and departments responsible for their reconciliation. 
    • Daily Review of Trial Balance of the bank for trend analysis. 
    • Obtain and review proof of accounts from branches and head office departments. 
    • Provision of audit requirements for External and Internal Audits 
    • Preparation of weekly CBN Enhanced FCY report on Other Assets and Liabilities 
    • Provision of schedules and requirements for CBN examiners 
    • Ensuring amortization of the branches’ Lease/Rent prepayment. 
    • Participate in special projects in the bank e.g. Oracle GL, Finacle etc. 
    • Assist in ensuring that the bank’s financial reports represent true and fair view of the banks 
      operation. 
    • Perform ad-hoc duties as may be required from time to time

    Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
    • Proficiency in the use Ms Word & Ms Excel.
    • Minimum of 4 to 6 years' experience in a similar role.

    Key Competency Requirements:
    Knowledge:

    • Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CPA or its equivalent plus at least 4 to 6 years post Qualification years’ experience, with relevant / specific banking experience.
    • Broad understanding of banking practice.
    • Sound knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and IFRS Accounting Policy.

    Skill / Competencies:

    • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
    • An eye for detail and accuracy with a strong analytical capability.
    • High level of computer literacy is required.
