    Research Assistant – (Qualitative Analysis) Post Abortion Care (PAC)

    Job Summary

    The Research Analyst will play a key role in designing, implementing, and analyzing qualitative research components of the PAC project. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, key informant interviews, and other qualitative methodologies. They will support data analysis and interpretation, and contribute to the dissemination of findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

    • Assist in the planning and coordination of field research activities related to post-abortion care.Assist in the design and refinement of qualitative research tools and protocols (e.g., interview guides, informed consent forms).
    • Conduct and/or supervise qualitative data collection including focus groups, in-depth interviews (IDIs), and key informant interviews (KIIs) with PAC clients, providers, and other stakeholders.
    • Ensure ethical standards and data confidentiality are upheld during all research activities.
    • Transcribe, translate, and organize qualitative data for analysis.
    • Code and analyze qualitative data using software.
    • Prepare summaries, reports, presentations, and policy briefs based on qualitative findings.
    • Liaise with field teams, local partners, and stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation and contextual accuracy.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Public Health, Sociology, Anthropology, Gender Studies, or related social sciences.
    • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience in qualitative research, preferably in reproductive health, abortion care, or women’s health.
    • Demonstrated experience conducting IDIs, FGDs, and KIIs in sensitive contexts.
    • Strong analytical skills in qualitative data coding and thematic analysis.
    • Proficiency in qualitative data analysis software.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of local language(s) is a strong advantage.
    • Familiarity with ethical guidelines for research involving human subjects, particularly in sexual and reproductive health.
    • Experience working in cross-cultural or low-resource settings is preferred.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Data Analyst – Post Abortion Care (PAC) Project

    Job Summary:

    The Data Analyst will lead and support the analysis of qualitative data collected from field officers, including health-care providers and community leaders. The Analyst will synthesize findings to inform project coordinator and ensure that the voices of clients and providers are meaningfully represented in project outputs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the analysis of qualitative data using established qualitative methods.
    • Collaborate with field teams to ensure high-quality data collection and ethical standards.
    • Conduct literature reviews and desk research to contextualize findings within existing evidence on PAC and reproductive health.
    • Draft detailed analytical reports, case studies, and summaries for internal and external dissemination.
    • Work closely with the research team to triangulate qualitative insights with quantitative findings.
    • Ensure data privacy, confidentiality, and informed consent are maintained throughout the data life cycle.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Anthropology, or a related field.
    • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in qualitative research or analysis in a  health or development context.
    • Demonstrated experience analyzing qualitative data.
    • Strong knowledge of qualitative data software such as N vivo, Atlas TL etc
    • Excellent writing skills and ability to translate complex data into accessible insights.
    • Experience working in multicultural and cross-disciplinary teams.

    Fieldwork Coordinator – Post Abortion Care (PAC) Project

    Job Summary:

    The Fieldwork Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all field-level activities related to the implementation of the Post Abortion Care (PAC) Project. This role involves working closely with health facilities, community stakeholders, data collection, training, monitoring, and quality assurance. The Fieldwork Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring that project activities are implemented according to established protocols, timelines, and quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate the day-to-day field operations of the PAC project across assigned regions or facilities.
    • Ensure smooth implementation of PAC interventions, including capacity building, community engagement, service delivery, and logistics support.
    • Liaise regularly with health facility staff and community health workers to monitor progress and resolve challenges.
    • Organize and facilitate field visits, training sessions and supervisions.
    • Monitor the quality of PAC evaluation at health facilities.
    • Provide supportive supervision and mentoring to health care providers involved in PAC services.
    • Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, guidelines, and best practices.
    • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with community leaders, local authorities and health personnel.
    • Represent the PAC project in community meetings, health coordination forums, and other relevant platforms.
    • Ensure accurate and timely collection of data from health facilities and field officers.
    • Review and verify reports submitted by field officers and health facilities.
    • Identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement based on field data collection.
    • Coordinate the distribution of PAC-related supplies, materials, and job aids to field sites.
    • Ensure optimal use of project resources and adherence to organizational policies and regulations.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Midwifery, Social Sciences, or related field. A master\'s degree is an advantage.
    • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience coordinating field activities in SRH (Sexual and Reproductive Health), maternal health, or PAC-related projects.
    • Experience working with public health facilities and community-based programs.
    • Knowledge of post-abortion care protocols and reproductive health services is required.
    • Familiarity with health systems in the State applying for.

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Strong coordination and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data collection tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, DHIS2, ODK).
    • Fluency in English and Local language of the State applying for (both written and spoken)
    • Willingness to travel frequently to remote project locations.

    Work Conditions:

    • Field-based position with frequent travel to project sites, including rural and remote areas
