    Radiographer

    Job Description:

    • To act as the attending Consultant’s Clinical assistant
    • Performs X-rays for patients as directed.
    • Keeps an accurate ledger of all X-rays and scans done
    • Generates weekly report for the radiology department
    • Ensures the Philips X-ray machine is maintained by Philips
    • Ensures the X-ray processor is maintained monthly by the technician
    • Ensures regular update of lead lining certification by relevant authority
    • Ensures the processor chemicals are always available for the technician’s use 
    • Performs monthly stock taking
    • Attend clinical meetings which is a part of their KPI
    • Input all scan and x-ray results in Medtrix
    • Attend clinical meetings which is a part of their KPI
    • Performing and processing a range of radiographic examinations including X-rays (routine and special investigations), ECG, and Ultra-sound scans to obtain high-quality images.
    • Assess patients and their clinical requirements to work out which radiographic techniques to use.
    • Perform a range of radiographic examinations on patients to produce high-quality images.
    • Take responsibility for radiation safety in the work area, including checking equipment for malfunctions and errors.
    • Manage referrals to ensure patients receive a radiation dose as low as reasonably possible.
    • Supervise visiting staff and patients in radiation work areas.
    • Provide support and reassurance to patients, considering their physical and psychological needs.
    • Supervise radiography and any other imaging support assistants.
    • Keep up to date with health and safety guidelines, including ionizing radiation regulations, to protect oneself and others.
    • Staying up to date with the latest industry development and technology.
    • Ensure that the servicing of the machine whenever it is due.
    • Keep a proper and complete documentations using the necessary data collection tools and reporting.
    • To assist with any other task as required by the Medical Director

    Education and/or Experience:

    • A degree in Radiography and a practicing license from the board.
    • Minimum of 2 years work experience post internship and NYSC.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to explain procedures to patients.
    • Good observation skills and attention to detail.
    • Self-motivation and the ability to work under pressure.
    • Organization and decision-making skills.
    • Confidence in using leading-edge technologies.
    • A high level of emotional intelligence to manage the emotional and distressing situations you may encounter.

    Consultant Radiologist

    Job Description

    • Exercise judgment to assess and respond to patient’s needs prior to, during and following procedures
    • Evaluate and maintain a quality control program to ensure instrumentation credibility and reliability
    • Utilize techniques and education that will minimize radiation exposure to patients and health care personnel
    • Operate diagnostic medical equipment such as x-ray machines, MRI scanners and others
    • Interpret images and results
    • Occasionally monitor imaging sessions run by radiologists and technicians
    • Consult with other clinical staff about appropriate imaging pathways as well as the discussion of the results of examination already performed
    • Clinical management of the Diagnostic Centre to maintain a high quality radiology service
    • Report on images acquired by others as in the case with most computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance (MR), and plain film work
    • To supervise all radiology examinations and radiographers by always ensuring smooth operation of the radiology department.
    • Liaise with other radiologists to ensure that the department is covered at all times.
    • To device protocols in areas such as drug reaction, resuscitation, emergencies, and infection control.
    • Ensure suitable use and maintenance of all radiology modalities at the facility.
    • Ensure qualitative interpretations of investigations by sharing and discussing with colleagues when necessary.
    • Oversee radiopaque substances by injection, orally, or as enemas to render internal structures and organs visible on X-ray films or fluoroscopic screens.
    • Direct and supervise the activities of the radiography technician.
    • Maintaining and ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive information.
    • Participate in continuing education activities to maintain and develop expertise as required by MDCAN and keep proper and updated registration with MDCN and NMA
    • Any other responsibilities that may be delegated to him by line Manager.

    Academic Qualifications:

    • MBBS
    • Radiology fellowship is required
    • MBBS / MBChB / FMCR qualification
    • NYSC Discharge or exemption Certificate
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Must be licensed by the Radiographer registration board of Nigeria (RRBN);
    • A Radiographer with Diagnostic experience
    • Valid and current practicing license from MDCN
    • Computer Literacy Extensive experience in X-Ray, Ultrasound, MRI, and Mammography.
    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
    • Good observation skills.

    Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies:

    • License to practice medicine from the Nigerian Medical and Dental Association (MDCN license).

    Work experience required:

    • Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience practicing as a radiologist in a reputable hospital or diagnostic centre. Experience in interventional radiology will be an added advantage.
    • Experience in radiology with expertise in imaging – obtaining and interpreting medical images obtained by using x-rays (radiographs, CT, fluoroscopy) or radioactive substances (nuclear medicine) or by other means such as sound waves (ultrasound) or the body's natural magnetism (MRI). Mammography and other Radiology procedures

    Peadiatric Nurse

    • As a nurse, to provide quality care to midwifery patients during all stages of their pregnancy.
    • Provide support and assistance to new mothers including breastfeeding advice and assistance with general parent crafting.
    • Be available for "on call" roster as required to provide escort for midwifery patient requiring transfer or assistance if more than one patient in Delivery Suite.
    • Provide quality nursing care that includes assessment, planning and evaluation of care.
    • Attend relative study days/seminars to maintain current level of knowledge in all aspects of midwifery/medical/surgical nursing.
    • Identifies learning needs and actions as able, or discusses with the relevant manager either before or during regular performance review processes.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Must be RN / RM / RP
    • Minimum 4 years post graduation experience as a Registered Nurse Midwife or Peadiatric Nurse.
    • Knowledge of and experience in quality improvement activities
    • Knowledge of current issues, trends and research in acute services and maternity services / early years
