    Accountant

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced Accountant to manage the financial operations of Visco Group of Companies Limited.
    • The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing financial reports, maintaining accurate records, managing budgets, monitoring expenses, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
    • This role requires strong attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

    Key Responsibilities
    Financial Management & Reporting:

    • Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ledgers, and journals.
    • Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable regularly.
    • Track daily cash flow, monitor spending, and report variances.

    Budgeting & Cost Control:

    • Assist in preparing annual budgets and monitoring budget performance.
    • Implement cost-control measures and provide financial insights for decision-making.
    • Review and verify all financial transactions, invoices, and expense reports.

    Payroll & Compliance:

    • Oversee payroll preparation and ensure accurate salary payments.

    Audit & Internal Controls:

    • Maintain proper documentation, receipts, and evidence for all financial transactions.

    Inventory & Asset Management:

    • Support inventory reconciliation in collaboration with relevant departments.
    • Maintain asset registers and track depreciation schedules.

    Financial Advisory & Support:

    • Provide management with timely financial insights to support business decisions.
    • Advise on financial risks, investment opportunities, and cash-flow strategies.
    • Liaise with banks, auditors, vendors, and regulatory bodies when required.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
    • 2 - 3 years proven experiencein an accounting role.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and Nigerian tax laws.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Zoho Books) and MS Excel.
    • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
    • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
