    Livelihoods & Food Security Officer

    Generic responsibilities 

    • These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work and Development plan.
    • Implement delegated LFS project portfolio according to plan of action
    • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
    • Ensure proper filing of documents 
    • Promote and share ideas for technical improvement
    • Ensure that procurement development and distribution of project materials and equipment are timely and accordance with procedures.
    • Involve and inform communities and community leaders about NRC activities and policy 
    • Explore and facilitate introduction of new technology, method and approaches in order to improve the quality of the activities.
    • Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
    • Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and asses new and better ways to assist

    Specific responsibilities 

    • Coordinate the food security and livelihoods activities according to strategy, proposals, budgets and plans.
    • Ensure adherence to NRC policies and donor requirements. 
    • Provision of the annual operational plans into monthly and quarterly implementation plans.
    • Coordinate with relevant partners working in the same implementation area and to avoid overlaps.
    • Prepare periodic progress report and other document as required.
    • Conduct livelihood assessment to determine the most viable and suitable technical and education vocational and training (TEVT) that is gender responsive.
    • Mapping of government facilities providing skills and entrepreneurship development trainings.
    • Organize Exhibition shows/events on skills and innovative initiatives. 
    • Work with private sector to secure internship for women and youth graduates.  
    • Responsible for coordinating with key stakeholders and registration of project beneficiaries. 
    •  Coordinate with stakeholders and partners in training of project beneficiaries. 
    • Facilitate financial inclusion activities. 
    • At least one year of experience managing program staff and implementation in the field of TVET preferred.
    • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
    • Understanding of data collection and analysis and documentation of results
    • Experience mobilizing communities and interacting with government education authorities
    • Analytic and computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
    • Fluency in English, both written and oral required.
    • Context specific skills, knowledge and experience:
    • Understanding of the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in context and humanitarian and development response in northeastern Nigeria, with specific experience in North-East Nigeria preferred.
    • Fluent spoken Hausa and Kanuri language, with other local languages an advantage
    • Experience with nonformal and vocational education preferred
    • Documented experience working with local government authorities and IDP, returnee and host communities
    • Experience with budgeting, procurement and recruitment of staff and contractors

    Understanding of humanitarian, development and protection standards and their application in the field

    Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience: 

    • BSc, HND in Education, Agronomy, Agriculture, or related field
    • Minimum of 3 years working experience in a related position.
    • Work experience from the Borno State context preferred
    • Experience working as in education or livelihood and food Security officer in humanitarian/recovery context.
    • Proven experience in implementing educational TVET activities. 
    • Experience of implementing cash/voucher transfers, 
    • Experience and understanding of Selection, planning and management (SPM) of income Generation Activities (IGAs) both farm and off farm activities.  
    • Experience in beneficiary Skills training 
    • Experience in Village savings loans and Association(VSLA) and financial services.
    • Experience working in complex and volatile context.
    • Able to speak fluent Hausa and English languages
    • Ability to work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision
    • Ensure proper archiving/filling of project documents
    • Highest standard of ethics and integrity
    • Ability to work in insecure environments

    Human Resources and Administration Team Leader Nigeria - Re-Advertised

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
    • Implement delegated support function portfolio according to the plan of action
    • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
    • Ensure proper filing of documents

    • Ensure development and implementation of administrative systems and procedures

    • Coordinate staff contract renewals, exits, introductions, training, staff benefits schemes etc.

    Qualifications

    • Three (3) year’s experience working as an HR/Admin personnel, from an Officer level and in a humanitarian/recovery context
    • University degree in Human Resources / Business Management or any Social Sciences
    • Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts. 
    • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
    • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile 
    • Fluency in English, both written and verbal 
    • Good knowledge of the Nigerian Labor Law

    Context/ Specific skills, knowledge, and experience: 

    • Fluency in Hausa is an added advantage
    • High-level competence in computer skills (Microsoft Office applications)

    Logistics Coordinator

    Generic responsibilities 

    • Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines, SOP’s and donor requirements/compliance.
    • Coordinate timely operational planning and management of logistics activities. 
    • Ensure that country specific SOP’s regulate procedures at Area Office level and perform periodic checks.
    • Coordinate market assessment/survey within the scope and request of programme/project developers
    • Prepare and submit reports and analysis. 
    • Support line managers in procedures and require support team trainings related to logistics.
    • Provide anti-corruption, transparency and cost efficiency focus on all processes (e.g. in procurement, vehicle management, asset management) 
    • Ensure proper filing of all support documents.
    • Perform other duties, as assigned by Line Manager

    Specific responsibilities 

    •  Implement organizational Global Logistics Handbook procedures and ensure compliance with donors and organizational policies
    • Support the development of the Country Logistics SOPs and their implementation
    • Ensure all agreement and contracts are either extended or re-tendered in time; and to timely process the newly requested tenders based on the tender time plan.
    • Participate on all relevant meetings ensuring proper communication and coordination with other departments; and support in providing technical information where relevant.
    • Provide monthly reports on all logistics activities and ensure logistics KPI’s are achieved, report posted on a timely manner on O365 for Logistics Managers/designated review.
    • Contribute to the identification of opportunities to implement cash-based interventions and market-based programmes by participating in assessments and response analysis discussions.
    • To undertake any other duties as signed by the line manager.
    • Ensure capacity build the team in CO and AO logistics teams
    • Handle complex and high value tenders and ensure that they are compliance to NRC and donor procurement and financial guidelines.
    • Review and document existing and standard controls in the logistics processes.
    • Actively participate in market assessment/surveys, due diligence and vendor rating exercises.
    • Contribute to the logistics department Country Office´s strategy with information, hard data and clear planning.

    Qualifications

    Professional competencies 

    • Experience from working within technical expertise area in a humanitarian/ recovery context.
    • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
    • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
    • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile.
    • Fluency in English both written and verbal.

    Context/ Specific Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management at a senior level.
    • Qualification requirement: Essential degree and specialization in Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management, professional qualifications such as CIPS L4 or higher, APICS Certification (CSCP, CLTD, CTS, CPIM).
    • Good working knowledge of humanitarian supply chain operation 
    • Experience and knowledge of public procurement rules and regulations;
    • Proven management experience, including training and capacity building of national staff;
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
    • A high level of computer literacy;
    • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
